Just as the title says, I slipped on some ice and dropped my iPad on rocky pavement. The case wasn't closed, and broke apart from the iPad anyway. It landed screen-down. There was crushed class at three of the corners, and three spots with small spider-like cracks, and two cracks going several inches across the screen. I thought the screen was cracked, until I ran my fingernail across the screen protector, and could feel that the cracks were in the protector. I removed the protector to find that my iPad screen itself was unscratched. The protector absorbed the energy of the impact by crushing and cracking.
The glass screen protector gave its life in the line of duty, and was fully successful. And the company is sending me a new one for free. This is what they mean by "lifetime warranty" I suppose. I'm a lifetime customer now. The metal case of the ipad was a little dented in two places because the case broke and came off. That was a failure. The screen protector was a success.
Hint: to remove a glass screen protector, use a sharp knife to very gently lift a corner, just high enough to slip a piece of paper in, maybe a business card. Then stick in other business cards working your way around. Do not lift, just slide. Continue until you don't need to continue any more.
This is one quality glass screen protector. I loved this screen protector so much, I felt compelled to leave a review!
It is by far, the best glass screen protector I have purchased/used to date; the technology has sure improved. It is noticeably thinner and smoother to the touch, when compared to other glass screen protectors I have used. Dare I say perhaps smoother than the original Apple glass, though I'm sure that may be a stretch.
The corners line up very well as everyone says and the glass extends up to the very edge of the existing glass. This should be noted because if your case overlaps your iPad's glass, there may be some fitment issues. Fits perfectly with my Khomo iPad case; you can barely tell that there's a screen protector on it either.
As others recommended, I applied the screen protector in the shower to reduce the chances of having airborne dust. I've applied many film screen protectors in the past, and recent price drop of glass, I've started switching my products to glass screen protectors. Here are some helpful tips that may promote a successful application for yourself:
1. Turn your shower on hot, try not to disturb ANYTHING as this will kick dust into the air.
- Bright lighting is key, bring an extra lamp into your bathroom if necessary.
2. Outside of your bathroom, clean your screen until all oil smudges are gone.
3. Use clean fabric to remove as much dust as your can (careful not to smudge screen).
4. Use standard 2" packaging tape to stick and remove any remaining dust particles.
5. Return to bathroom with fresh packaging tape in hand.
6. Remove any remaining dust with packaging tape; at this point monitor dust levels landing on your glass. If too much dust keeps sticking to your screen immediately after removal, the room is still too dusty.
7. Tape little tabs (left and right sides) to the back sides of the film, this will help you pull down the plastic film exposing the adhesive side later; fold the sticky side of the tape over on itself to make it easier to hold later.
8. Ensure that there is no dust on the top 1/3 of your screen; use tape to remove any new dust.
9. Peel back the adhesive side 1/3 from the TOP-DOWN, and folding it over.
10. Quickly, but calmly apply it to the top of your iPad folding the film over on itself.
11. Hold it down gently and use the supplied tabs to make micro adjustments aligning the edges; use the home button as a reference point (this is a great way to know if your screen protector is centered properly.
12. Once your screen protector is centered, gently press down on the screen protector with the palm on your hand. CAREFUL NOT TO CRACK THE SCREEN; it will bend a little but not much.
- Be careful not to apply too much pressure at the fold or you may crack your screen protector!
13. Once the top is successfully adhered and the bottom (home button) is lined up, slowly begin to pull the remaining portion of adhesive film off while gently apply the screen down. The adhesive film will catch any loose dust off the screen as you work your way down.
14. Make sure to gently message the air bubbles out as you set the screen (on glass screen protectors, much harder to remove bubbles post installation).
15. If bubbles do remain after your screen is set, do not lift the screen (this will most certainly crack it). Use your finger and firmly push it out the side. For me it took a couple tries over 30 mins because the bubbles disappeared but eventually came back until I completely pushed it out the side.
SUCCESS!!! This was my first attempt installing a glass on such a large surface, and managed to walk away completely dust free with the exception to one TINY piece of dust that managed to sneak in somehow!!! At least there isn't an air bubble around it -__-
Please be warned, if you have never applied a screen protector before, you should watch a couple videos on proper technique prior to applying the screen protector! Once it's set, it's set; you'll probably crack it trying to remove/reapply it.

Amazing product and fast shipping.
Product arrived undamaged in a paddled envelop.
Make sure to read the directions before applying the glass protector so you don't break it.
Apply the screen protector in a brightly lit area. This protector has two little flaps on opposite ends that act as handles which makes it really really easy to apply while other brands I have used do not.
Glass is cut out very precised and it covers the entire glass surface of the iPad. The edges are rounded/beveled which is really nice. There are no holes for the camera sensors but only the home button/Touch ID which I also like. No U-hole cutout for home button that other brands do. Does not cause interference, unless you did a bad job applying it. Align the home button circle cutout and the edge of the glass with the iPad to make sure everything is lined up properly. Then press down the glass from one end and move the pressure down to the other end. This will prevent bubbles from showing up or even creating. If you go from both sides, you will get bubbles.
The glass is really smooth and reduces the amount of finger prints. Would say it is smoother than without a glass protector. Coefficient of friction higher on Apple Glass than the glass screen protector.
As a result, the Apple Pencil works even better as smoother surface. No need to worry about pressing too hard and damaging the LCD either. Even though the surface of the glass is a little bit thicker, no interference or distortions noticed.
I do have to say that there is a slight increased amount of reflection but hardly noticeable. It is the same amount on an Air 2 if using the iPad Pro 9.7.
Highly recommend for the price and precision cutout and features.
Having never applied a tempered glass screen protector before (I usually make Mr. Husband do it!), I read a couple of tips and tricks and settled in expecting it to be perhaps a little frustrating. Instead, I found the entire process quite easy and had the screen protector nicely aligned and attached to my brand new iPad Air 2 in about 5 minutes. Knowing that I wanted to get a screen protector and case onto it immediately, I actually left the out-of-the-box plastic wrap on the device until I had the screen protector in hand (about 3 days with Amazon's prime shipping). When I was ready to install, I removed the plastic wrap, used the included wet and dry wipes and then aligned the screen protector. I used two of the included dust removal/hinge stickers to create a hinge on either side of the home button. Once I was satisfied with the placement, I pulled the lower third of the backing off and started sticking the screen protector in place. Once the adhesive backing was completely off, I applied slight pressure along the vertical center line of the iPad screen and literally watched the protector slowly adhere from the center out. Not a single bubble appeared and I hardly had to use the included squeeze card along the edges. It looks great and doesn't interfere with the case that I purchased at all - the open-on functionality of the case still works flawlessly. The touchscreen functionality is still super sensitive with either fingers or a stylus, too. All in all, looks like this was an excellent purchase - great price, easy to install, no functional interference, etc.
I believe that most of these screen protectors, given the same material and thickness, are technically equal. What differs is the quality of the provider...how good are their instructions, shipping, packaging, installation instructions, installation aids and followup service.
To this extent, Techmatte is the a 5 star provider in all of these categories, especially in the followup service and backing up on the life time warranty. They replaced both screens with just two email exchanges and they arrived in days.
I received this screen protector (and one for the iPhone) as gifts from my wife and already had installed screen protectors so these went on the shelf until needed. Last week I decided to install them and had some difficulty which I suspect was aging adhesive as they were over a year old when I finally used them. The iPad protector had a broken screen, maybe out of the box or when peeling the film off for installation which seemed to be hard to peel and maybe the screen bent and broke. the original screen came in thick stiff envelope. The replacement screen came in a box and was much stiffer to avoid bending damage.
As a feedback on the screen protectors. I have used the plastic ones until the glass ones came out. I have found that the plastic screens are actually more rugged and just as protective as the glass screens. I protect my phones with Tech21 D30 impact cases and have never had an issue even dropping on concrete from 2 meters! But it seems that the glass screen protector fails under such an event if contact is made with the screen and the plastic is fine. There is no phone damage in either situation. I have not used a glass protector in the iPad yet but noticed that the Logitech keyboard left scratches in the plastic protector. The glass stays clear as can be but I notice slight micro-scratches appear in the plastic screens. But they are cheap enough to replace every year.

The packaging was top-class. The included materials inside were neatly arranged along with a set of basic instructions, which were enough to install the screen protector (video link was included too for those new to the game).
The two tabs method of installing is new to me and was much much easier than any of the earlier ones.
Installed the screen protector in less than 5 minutes (including the screen cleaning stuff).
Very satisfied with the process.
However, just noticed that the film when viewed at certain angles showed a wavy pattern of light reflection. Did not affect the performance as far as I can tell.
My only other grievance is that it doesn't have a hole for the FaceTime camera (Front-facing). The video quality was okay, did not test it extensively, but would have been nice to have the hole there instead of the relying on the transparency/quality of the screen protector.
Funnily, the swiping quality improved when I installed the screen protector over the native iPad Pro screen.
I Have yet had a serious drop & see how it work lol but I like it so far. It's basically like ur second screen (as u see in the pics, it's really hard to see if you're using the screen protector). It covers up all the way to the edges. I use it with the ultra clear thin case which is perfect for protection & super nice.
The picture is so clear. You can't even tell that there is a screen protector on it. Easy to install. Great price and worth it!
Update**** long story short this save my iPad from certain death. It fell off the roof of my car onto a busy road. Came back 15 min later and it was there. If not for the screen protector and the cover it would have bit the dust. Just some damage to one corner of the iPad the other corner it was the glass that took the beating
Wow, I purchased this because I needed another screen protector asap. There was only one left at Best Buy around Christmas time so I bought another brand name for $39.99. When I received this from Amazon, I was expecting to install a [ temporary ] screen protector just long enough until the other one from BB arrived but after i installed and compared the two, the only thing I regretted was not being able to return the one I bought for $39.99 from best Buy ! This is great, looks like the same thing, has same thickness, easy to install and 1/4 of the price ! Great product , thank you .
I purchased a 2018 iPad and wanted something to protect the screen. After reading the reviews I decided to try the amFilm tempered glass protector. Well I’m not disappointed. The fit is perfect. I would rate the installation a medium on a difficulty scale. I’ve owned many generations of iPhones and installed screen protectors, some with mixed results but it’s not my first rodeo. I was able to achieve a flawless installation of this one. The instructions were okay and the most difficult part was getting a good alignment before settling it down. I did get one large bubble and one small one that I attempted to squeegee out. It seemed like it might work eventually but I decided to use the blade of my utility knife to gently lift the edge closest to the bubble. I took my time and when the separation was close to the bubble I used the supplied squeegee to work back to the edge. I got each bubble out on the first attempt. Given the price of this one I think it’s well made and work the price. The only improvement I could possibly offer is including an alignment device. I installed a screen protector on my iPhone X that included such a tool and it made the install simple. Given the real estate of and iPad it would certainly help. All in all I would give an overall 9 out of 10.
