I am a margarita lover and granted, I have used stevia for years so have developed a taste for it. I don't drink regular or diet sodas or juices and keep my temptations down to a minimum. I keep these packets with me on the go, to add to plain water, or order a shot of tequila (allowed on keto) and a club soda, so don't miss out on the sociality when dining or drinking with friends. Sometimes in a bar or at home, I add a squeeze of lime and possibly a drop or two of the monk fruit sweetener I carry with me always. I am perfectly happy with all the flavors and feel like they help to stay easily on my keto diet, but could work for anyone keeping their calories down, wanting variety and also wanting to stay away from the deleterious effects of diet sodas and most bar drinks filled with high fructose corn syrup. These taste so good! I ordered a vodka soda while out while my friend ordered a mule. I just put in my mule Skinnies and it almost tasted the same (without the price)!! I will be buying these again!

My parents are on the Keto diet and have had great success with it so I bought the this as a gift. They said they were delicious and quite close to the regular versions of these cocktails.

These are actually good or so my husband says. Hes tried all but the Mai Tai only because we usually don't drink rum. But they're perfect for on the go, when we go to have dinner or a bar he just ordered a club soda and tequila or vodka puts one of these packets in and he has the perfect low car, keto friendly alcoholic drink.

Dixie Diners' Club - Beef (Not!) Ground (1 lb bag)

My original review is below, but I took a star away because I really don't like all the powder in the bag. I don't know if that can be fixed, but to me it spoils the meat effect a little. The product is still very good and delivers on its promise. One other thing: if you want that meat flavor, I recommend Orrington Farms Vegan Beef Broth Base. It really does taste meat-like (it wouldn't fool a meat eater, but for vegetarians it is excellent).

Have tried a variety of not meat products and this is among the best. First time I used it, I made not meatloaf. I put a bunch of cumin, garlic, marjoram, and oregano (all measured by eye and instinct) in a cup of water, heated the water to near boiling, and put in the not ground beef. Let it sit for a few minutes and tasted it. It was delicious. Put it in the refrigerator and checked it after a few hours. It had firmed up nicely and I could tell it would be very much like meat. Made the not meatloaf with bread crumbs and some seitan as a binder and the usual meatloaf seasoning. Look, as a vegetarian I don't really care about fake meats, but my wife still wants meat flavors and we both miss the texture. Well this was so like meatloaf, we've found a solution to the texture/flavor problem, and I didn't think that would happen. Can't wait to try the not chicken pieces.

Wow, I am shocked at how well this turned out. I'm a hardcore carnivore and actively avoid vegan/vegetarian stuff but my BP is up and I need to lose some weight so I figured "what the heck" and bought a bag of this. I took a 1/2 cup of this, a 1/2 cup of hot water, added a splash of Worcestershire sauce, a dash of garlic, salt, and some steak seasoning mix. Microwaved the bowl for 2 mins and took a taste and I was pleasantly surprised - It actually tasted and felt pretty darn close to ground beef! I can't vouch for it mixed plain but if you season it up a bit it's more than passable! Gonna make a cheesesteak out of what I mixed up right now, will try tacos next and post an update!

This is an excellent vegan ground beef alternative! I made sausage patties using it and they turned out great! I also crumbled some up to make a tofu scramble for breakfast burritos.

For health and ethical reasons, my household is cutting back 75-90% on meat consumption. To do this, I've purchased a lot of meat substitute products for testing so that we can continue eating the types of dinners we're used to. I've only tried it in spaghetti, but the Beef (Not!) Ground is indistinguishable from ground beef once seasoned and sauced. It's also SO easy to prepare - a couple minutes in the microwave with water or broth. Because of the dry storage, it lasts over a year on the shelf. I'm a fussy/squeamish eater...it's wonderful never running into bits of fat, gristle or bone. Another of the things I've noticed about meat substitutes is that leftovers retain their "fresh cooked" taste for a longer. It's definitely worth a try.

Used this for the first time today and it's amazing.

I had a kidney out in February and the one that's left isn't quite running on all cylinders, so I have to really watch how much meat protein I eat.

I made a batch of chili today (low-sodium chili powder supplemented by potassium salt and good quality paprika) and used a half-and-half blend of this and really low-quality ground beef (73% lean).

I also added two teaspoons of beef base (low sodium) as well during the reconstitution process.

Add one small onion, one chopped up jalapeno, one drained and rinsed can of green chilis, one drained and rinsed can of petite diced tomatoes and I had a pretty darned good chili base for chili-mac.

This is super-handy and little goes a long way, so I keep this in the freezer til I need it. There's no thawing-out time, just reconstitute with hot water or broth, or add it to sauce. My favorite use for it so far was with zucchini, onions, tomato, other veggies, and Rotel, poured over quinoa and brown rice. I tried making little patties with it earlier, but they turned out pretty dry, even tho I used an egg as a binder.

Update 06/24/14: This product has increased in price to a total of $12.35 w/S&H. But again, it makes the equivalent of about 4 lbs of ground beef. So that's only $3.08/pound, and last I looked, 80/20 at the grocery was going for about $4.35/lb. This is healthier, and shelf-stable. So still a good buy at current price point.

I needed to do something about my cholesterol, and so began cooking a lot of meatless dishes. I was searching for low fat recipes online, and happened upon one that mentioned "Beef Not" and "Turkey Not". I was intrigued, and searched it here at Amazon; LO! And behold! They have it!

With shipping, this package costs $11.14, but makes the equivalent of about 4 pounds of ground beef. At this time, the average cost for fresh ground beef is $3.51/pound. Four pounds would cost $14.04. Even adding in the beef broth (that I use) to reconstitute the product, it's still cheaper than meat.

I'll admit that I was verrrrry skeptical about this, but figured it was worth 11 bucks to give it a whirl. The first time, I opened a can of regular Hormel Chili con Carne with Beans, and added 1/2 cup (prepared) Beef Not to the chili, and mixed it in, to see if I could tell it was in there. I have to say, visually and texturally, it was *impossible* to tell.

So, last night I prepared 1 cup of the product, and opened a can of "chili beans" (again, just as an experiment; I don't usually buy canned beans, but they sure are convenient!), but found that 1 full cup of product was too much "meat" to 1 can of chili beans. So I dumped in another can of beans.

I did have to season the whole shebang with some cumin, chili powder, and garlic; the Beef Not doesn't really have a flavor at all, so the mixture was a little bland. But once I added everything (and a dash of Tabasco), and heated through, guess what?

You.Couldn't.Tell.It.Wasn't.Meat.Chili. Totally delicious! I served it over brown rice, and the kids snarfed it up without a peep. They had no idea it wasn't hamburger. This stuff works great! I'm not sure I'd try to make "meatballs" or anything out of it, but for mix-in purposes, it's wonderful!

My next attempt will be Sloppy Joes.

Used for an office Taco Tuesday celebration so I could have vegan tacos. Fooled EVERYONE :)

This is better than I expected. It takes a lot of seasoning, but I am only using it to make chili, which is heavily seasoned. A great substitute for real ground beef in my chili.

This product is very enjoyable to make a thick ragu sauce, but its a stretch for shepherds pie. You have to experiment to find the correct recipes for it. I'm a repeat buyer. Just wish it was organic. If it were I'd use it far-far more. When anything is not organic, I tend to use it far less. I cannot stress how important this product needs to get the organic certification.

You just have to try them to understand how good they are. Also, the bag zips up and the pretzels stay fresh for a lot longer than you would imagine, if they’re not all eaten immediately which is generally the case at my house. I would just as soon snack on Dot’s as I would potato chips — this, coming from someone who doesn’t even like pretzels! Trust me. Delicious!

These are not like any pretzels you have ever tasted!!! A little spicy, awesome flavor and totally awesome. I bought some of these when crossing So. Dakota last year & decided I had to find some more when I got back to GA.

I rue the day that my friend introduced me to these pretzels because they have sabotaged any and all diet attempts.

They taste richer than any pretzel you've had - there's a blend of savory and salty spices that coat each piece, and a buttery flavor baked into them. They're slightly airier and less compacted than regular pretzels when you bite into them, but they're still crunchy. Before you realize it, you'll have eaten through half the bag by yourself. Each piece is about an inch long and their shape is like spirali pasta.

I've not had any issues with delivery - the pieces aren't noticeably broken and the bags are always intact. They're more expensive than regular pretzels, but what can you do - they are the pride of North Dakota, after all.

These are hands down the best pretzels I’ve ever had! I really can’t describe how something as lame as pretzels can be exciting, but these her are simply amazing! Light, buttery, perfectly seasoned. Try just having one, you can’t!

I have to say, I find it funny that so many people say it's cheaper off their website. Is there a secret to getting free shipping or something? A two pound bag is $10 and shipping is $10. So, it's cheaper to buy it off Amazon - I got two bags, 1 pound each, free shipping, for $18.

Lakanto Monkfruit 2:1 Powder Sugar Substitute | 1 Ib NON GMO (Classic Powder)

I just finished making a genuine New York Cheesecake using MONKFRUIT sweetener and I'm amazed. The taste is beyond just comparable. It is indistinguishable. I will not hesitate to use this product in any of my favorite baking recipes. I only wish this was around when my mom, who suffered from Diabetes, was still alive so she could continue to enjoy all her favorite baked goods without worrying about her blood sugar.

I highly recommend MONKFRUIT. It is worth every penny. My only hesitation in sharing this review is that more people will try it, buy it and then my ability to get it so quickly will be effected. So buy it, but save some for me.

PROS:
*This the best sweetener for anyone wishing to lower sugar intake, not just those with diabetes.
*Tastes great. However, we don't agree it's a 1:1 ratio of Lakanto MFS to sugar. The ratio is more like 2:1, so you would need 2 teaspoons of Lakanto MFS for every 1 teaspoon of regular cane sugar. This opinion does not, in any way, reduce the value of this product. It really does not impact blood sugar...PRICELESS!

CONS: Cost is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. We feel blessed to be able to afford this, but not everyone can afford a sweetener that costs 8-10 times as much as common cane sugar. The process to refine monkfruit sugar is no longer under patent, which it was for 20 years. Please spread the word about this great sweetener to drive up demand. Hopefully, that will encourage our capitalist society to bring more competitors in and bring down prices.

This is the best sugar substitute I have used. It is so good, in fact, that my husband has started using it to make his sweet tea. This is important because a) hubby is diabetic, and b) Lakanto Monkfruit blend has a ZERO glycemic level, meaning it will NOT raise your blood sugar. That is important in weight loss and in maintaining a healthy a1c (according to hubby's doctor).

I have read other comments and found that some people are criticizing Lakanto for the cost of this blend because it is purportedly mostly Erythritol.The truth is that none of us really knows how much Monkfruit and how much Erythritol there is in it because it is a proprietary blend. (People seem to be basing this claim on the 4 grams of sugar alcohols under carbs on the nutritional label, which would be the Erythritol). Monkfruit by itself is a very strong sweetener (estimated up to three-HUNDRED times the sweetness of sugar in its purest form, according to my online research - note - I am neither a doctor nor nutritionist so please do your own due diligence), so not much monkfruit is required for a lot of sweetening power. [Erythritol is a sugar alcohol. Since there are 4 carbs of "sugar alcohols" in Erythritol, this is considered by most modern carb counters to be ZERO net carbs. Sugar Alcohols do not impact your body, weight or glycemic index (GI) the same way as "regular" carbs or sugars. They are eliminated before impacting your GI.

I'm just going to reiterate here - I don't care how much Erythritol there is when there is a product with very fine grains that dissolve smoothly and completely, even in cold iced tea, give major sweetening power without the cooling effect Erythritol is known for, and that personally, I don't care for, as that cooling effect reinforces the idea that this is NOT sugar.

Monkfruit sweetens the closest to sugar of anything I've ever tasted. I'll be back for more!

This one wins. NO laxative effect and NO bitter aftertaste. I have tried many other sugar substitutes: XYLITOL: laxative, STEVIA: bitter aftertaste, JUST LIKE SUGAR: slight bitter aftertaste, BOCHA SWEET: huge laxative effect, FRUCTEVIA: Bitter aftertaste. I almost gave up trying to find a sugar substitute and was going to resort to Coconut Sugar, but I gave it one last shot with this one because they had a small size to sample (8 oz) and I'm so glad I did! It is not as sweet as Stevia (neither is sugar), but it neutralizes the bitterness in coffee and tea, and it has a "clean" taste, no undertones. Even sugar has undertones that linger. Not this, and I like that. ALSO I was surprised by how fast and easily it dissolves. It was completely dissolved before I even stirred my tea!

This has a light brown sugar taste to it and no alcohol sugar after taste. Bakes and sweetens just like sugar. Love this stuff! Takes a minute or two longer to dissolve in batters so take your time when mixing.

I may have overlooked these details while scanning through other reviews, but I found that Lakanto is SWEETER than regular granulated sugar.
In certain recipes I actually need less than what i would have used normally with sugar. I do appreciate that fact, because this product is not cheap. I have found it has (not an aftertaste), but an after-"feel", which does not bother me. It leaves a cooling sensation in the mouth if consumed at room temperature or colder. The effect isn't SUPER noticeable, but it's there. Also, I noticed in some baked goods, Lakanto does not completely meld (visually) with other ingredients, you can see that the granules kind of darken after being baked. It does not change the texture or taste of final product, and that's what matters.

Update 8/15/16:
STILL sweeter than sugar. WOW. I subbed for sugar in a brownies recipe 1:1 and they came out too sweet. I'll do about 25% less by volume when I bake again.

WARNING: After having just one 3x3 serving of my brownies, I had gastrointestinal...distress... for 2 hours last night! I think the amount I had proved to be too much for my poor digestive system and lets just say today I am dehydrated. Omg its like prune juice on crack! Definitely going to have to use less...

Oh wait did I mention cinnamon and Lakanto on my egg loaf is even better than french toast with cinnamon and sugar? My fiance couldnt tell there was no sugar in the cheesecakes. WINNER

It took me a couple of years to finally take a chance on a small bag of this sweetener due to the Erythritol content. I detest the cooling effect that erythritol has but was getting irritated by the drawbacks that other natural sweeteners have... including PURE MONK. We were so ready to workout which keto-friendly sweetener worked best that my daughter did her science project on which natural sweetener acts most like sugar in baking cakes. In the end, straight Pure Monk just didn't have the bulk. All Xylitol bubbled over and burnt to the bottom of the oven every time. The Stevia didn't have the bulk and I'm always reluctant to serve it to guests who might be sensitive to the aftertaste. The Erythritol gave us the best texture, but I couldn't tolerate the cooling effect and neither could my husband... he says it tastes "Chemical-ish". (Not the best endorsement of an all natural sweetener.)
Ultimately, we settled on a 50/50 blend of erythritol and Xylitol which cut the cooling effect and didn't bubble over.
That is UNTIL NOW. This Lakanto Monkfruit/Erythritol blend has little if barely detectable cooling effect straight out of the bag and ZERO COOLING EFFECT IN BAKING! And because it's a blend I don't run into the bulk problem I did with pure monkfruit. (Which is still perfect for whipped cream and other non-baking applications.)
Sooooooo happy I decided to give this a try. It even makes our Keto Shortbread cookies a little "crisp" like sugar would and carmelizes our Fathead Pecan/Cinnamon Buns.
After years of trying every type of natural, keto-friendly sweeteners in every form from liquid and pastes to granulated and powdered, the search is over... LAKANTO Monkfruit blend WINS!!!

I’m not a scientist, but I researched monk fruit and erythritol online. This product is quite clear about being a combination. That’s because their goal was to create a sweet substance you can substitute 1:1 in your food and baking. I love this stuff and am absolutely thrilled to find a sugar alternative that is not harmful (eg aspartame) and helps me handle my diabetes. It even works great in baking! We just made an apple pie with crumble topping that tastes and looks “normal.” No weird aftertaste like stevia. Highly recommended! PS this product is sweeter than sugar - I use less than 1:1 substitution.

Of all the sugar substitutes I have tried since starting the Keto lifestyle, this one is the best.

Stevia tastes bitter to me so I don't like any of the erythritol based sweeteners that add Stevia.
I stay away from all sugar alcohols that can cause stomach discomfort.
Swerve is good, but extremely expensive and has a distinct aftertaste.
Plain erythritol is cheaper than Lakanto, but also has more of a cooling effect than this. In the end, I'm willing to pay a slight premium for Lakant rather than erythritol because it's the best.

I've tried a few of the meal kits from Takeout Kit and this is my favorite. It brings me back to my trip to Chang-Mai, Thailand. So good! The entire experience provided (all ingredients, recipe card, background on the dish, generous portions, etc.) was awesome. Thank you Takeout Kit!

The Frosé (frozen rosé cocktail) that they serve at Malibu Farm on the Malibu Pier in California is one of my favorite drinks. When the bartender told me that they use Kelvin Slush to make their Frosé and you can buy the mix on Amazon, I was super excited to try it. I ordered a bottle to use at a party and I was not disappointed. Malibu Farm uses a big fancy slush machine to make their Frosé but the bottle also has instructions how to make it with a blender. I had a few girlfriends over for brunch one day and we blended up Frosé and it was a huge hit. I just own a regular kitchen blender. Nothing fancy. Tastes exactly the same as Malibu Farm and super easy. We decided to use the “Session Frosé” (wine only) recipe from the bottle and it’s just 3 ingredients: 2 oz Kelvin Frosé Mix, 4 oz Rosé Wine, 2 cups ice + blend. Super easy and super fun. Tastes like summer!

I'm SUPER picky- my husband has been in the food and beverage industry for 20 years creating food and drinks. I'm spoiled and I like organics. I bought this mix to go into a margarita machine for a surprise birthday party for him and it went so quickly. I had several bottles and we went through it all. After the party, I came back and purchased another bottle and then mixed up batches (less the alcohol, so it would freeze) and kept them in the freezer. I love Kelvin Slush Co. I live in New York and used to go visit their food truck. Kelvin doesn’t run a food truck anymore but Kelvin frozen cocktails are served at restaurants and bars all over New York. One of my favorite Kelvin frozen cocktails is the Frosé that they serve on the rooftop at Eataly. So, when I saw their Frosé on Amazon I had to buy it. It’s super easy to make at home with a blender and tastes just like the Frosé at Eataly! (Hint: For best results use a “dry” rosé wine, not a sweet rosé wine. That means no white zinfandel.)

We needed something for our industrial size margarita machines for a party. When looking at mix, we noticed most had a chemical added to, making the concoction freeze. We wanted an alternative to chemicals so I found this on Amazon. We got a Pina colada and Margarita. The taste was awesome! We added the appropriate water and alcohol ratio, on the label. They were a hit! We loved that they were easy ingredients, organic and used for a margarita machine and a standard blender. We’ll order again!

Ordered 2 of these for a 30th birthday party to use in a restaurant quality margarita machine. Tasted great, everybody loved it and came back for more. Didn't taste like chemicals at all. Don't be put off by the slightly brownish color when it's in the bottle - drinks came out the color of honeydew melon (as they should). If you're looking for something that looks like Hulk urine this isn't for you :)

Used it for the first time this past weekend in my Bunn Ultra2, mixed easy with Tequila and filtered water. Froze to a great consistency and tasted awesome. I will be buying this again and trying their other flavors.

I used this to make some frozen ginger cocktails and it makes for a delicious base. Really easy to use and very versatile. The company website has some recipes and suggestions for pairings which I used for additional guidance. I think the frosse will be next on my try list.

A little sweet, just added more water and worked great in the rental slushy machine

Love this mix. It’s quality, doesn’t taste like it’s loaded with sugar and it sells A LOT! I haven’t tried a cheaper alternative, but quite frankly I have no intention of doing so.

Vegan Burger 4-Pack, Makes 36 Burgers: Vege Caliente, Veggie Six Mix, B.B. & Ohh!, Viva Italiano

This stuff makes a really tasty veggie burger. It is not quick and simple, but once you get your routine down, it is worth the time, compared to popping someone else's frozen pre-made veggie burger patties in the microwave. I have tried two flavors so far and like them both equally well. The BB % OHH, and the Veggie Six Mix.
I noticed that the Vege Caliente has a little canola oil in it. The only one of the four to list any sort of oil in the ingredients. I wish they'd have used a healthier oil than canola. There are many better, but the only ones worse are corn and soy oils. It is probably not enough oil to make a significant difference I guess. It just seems to me that a product geared toward health conscious people would want to totally avoid an oil with such a negative reputation.
That said, I plan to continue buying this product, at least my favorite flavors. .

These are really good, I just opened the Viva Italiente, It is excellent. I like the fact that all ingredients are natural, no preservatives. They definitely need to sit for 20 min before making into patties, I tried to make them right away and they do not hold together. These are nice to keep on hand for unexpected guests.

So Good! I have been eating only these the past few days because I have not been in the mood for anything else. All favors are good, I like the "Veggie Six Mix". I found out about this product from listening to The Alex Jones Show on Infowars(dot)com. Additionally nice to know this is an American company run by people with good values. I will buy VeganBurger again.

We love these at our house. So easy to make. So healthy. So delicious! These are not fake meat substitutes, while those are delicious also, these are vegetables, oats, grains, seasonings, that mix and cook up into delicious, healthy patties. Love these. I think the price is crazy high... but we splurge on occasion as the taste is so good.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this vegan burger mix. I've used this in many recipes and I will order again. I use it as a meat substitute for evening meals. I used the Italian spiced on to make eggplant lasagna and the meal was a hit with my husband and kids.

Baja Bob's Sugar Free PINA COLADA mix singles - 8 Single-Serve Packets

I recently started a keto diet so I was looking for a low-calorie mixer of some sort for a girls weekend at the beach - these were a godsend ... well maybe a tiki-send (trying to avoid being blasphemous) - I just put the mix in a water bottle with water and ice and shook it very well - then added vodka instead of rum (so technically I was making a chi-chi and not a pina colada) And I can only imagine how great it would be with an actual blender and rum ... before I flew home from vacation I had already ordered another box so I had it waiting for me when I got home ....

Tastes really good! I'm picky about my sugar free flavored things, especially when it comes to claiming to imitate the flavor of a margarita. I add 6-8 oz of water per packet instead of the suggested 4. I also squeeze a half a lime at the end and double the tequila. Highly recommended to anyone, especially for my keto peeps.

Kudos to Baja Bob's for considering the libation requirements of those who need to avoid sugar! This is a terrific and convenient mix. Hard to find sugar-free mixes to begin with, and who needs a big bottle of mostly water, when the same thing can be accomplished with a powdered mix? Good as-is, although for true "tropical" touch, adding a bit of banana works well. Of course bananas are not sugar free, but it doesn't take much and vastly improved the flavor profile.

I recently went on a fairly liberal low carb diet by limiting myself to about 100 grams of carbs per day. Typically, Pina coladas have over 50 grams of carbs. Theses taste very close to "regular" mixers but only have 1 gram of carbs per serving. I will be having these instead from now on. We've had other mixers from Baja Bob's and they are all very good.

We have enjoyed Baja Bob's fantastic margarita mix for a while now buying it from BevMo's or one of our local liquor stores. We just found the Pina Colada mix and are thrilled to discover that it tastes as good as a Pina Colada made from scratch. We were apprehensive about the power mix but this tastes better than the liquid non-diet Pina Colada mixes that are on the market.

This tasted better than another sugar free single packet on the market. BUT since it's only for a 4 oz serving, I have to use two of these. Margaritaville offers the same for about half. It's not as tasty, but you're dieting anyway. If you're not worried about calories or carbs, a good mod for this is adding pineapple juice - over the top!

They are certainly just as tasty, if not more, than the bottled version, and a lot easier to tote around. Just keep a shaker handy. Love these. Gonna buy the pitcher pack next. Baja Bob's please come out with your Desert Lime in these packs as the combo of original/Desert Lime is our absolute favorite, has been since we went low carb in 2004. This product tastes so much better than Zombie Farts. Each layer is a different, distinct fruit flavor. The fruit flavors are sweet (t’s cotton candy, you have to expect sweet ) but good and actually taste like the fruit. Lime and pineapple were favorites with the family. The texture was great as well. It arrived in an envelope, the seal was intact, the lid was on and secure. All in perfect condition. It made for a fun treat to share with the family. There are lots of possibilities for using each layer separately or altogether. Would definitely purchase this again.

I just got this today (5/1/19) and it’s so good. I (almost) immediately ate the first three layers and am currently trying to keep myself from eating the rest of it. The flavors of the cotton candy are actually really light, so if there’s a flavor included that you may not initially like; try it anyway. The actual candy itself is very light and fluffy and melts in your mouth-pretty much like candy cotton should be. Definitely worth the buy.

Sam's Harvest Jerky - Original Recipe, 4 oz. Bag (Pack of 4)

I was super skeptical when I ordered this, but I thought I would give it a try. I had tried other vegetarian jerky alternatives, mostly seitan based, and did not find them palatable. I am thrilled with this product, however. The combination of spices is just right to evoke the flavor of a jerky. The texture is spot on also. The base of this jerky is the Butler Soy Curl (also a great product) which makes me optimistic about the possibility of recreating this myself, giving me the option to try other flavors. I would say that the price is a drawback, but it is actually commensurate with the price of decent meat jerky, so it's also on the mark. There aren't very many products out there intended to dupe meat that get my seal of approval, but harvest jerky gets two enthusiastic thumbs up.

It's very hard to replicate both the taste and texture of meat. And in a blind taste test, you would never fail to differentiate between the real thing and Sam's Harvest Jerky. That being said, if you've got a craving for jerky but want to respect animal life, this is certainly an acceptable alternative. It would make a nice addition to your backpack when hiking or as a take along snack on a plane trip. I don't see it as my go-to snack at home but would happily take it along when it isn't feasible to carry perishable, easily bruised, or heavy snacks.

This stuff is extremely tasty. I have tried many different brands of vegetarian jerky and this is easily the winner. And while not exactly cheap, the price point is not bad for jerky. I snack on this to tide me over after work and before dinner. It's healthy, substantial, and won't melt in the car.

I think I like the taste... I have to get over a mental hurdle to eat it because when I got it, I was surprised at the packaging because it didn’t look like the ad. The ad made it look like how super good quality actual beef jerky looks, but the packaging in real life is totally different. The coloring looks like spotted diarreah with bright, Christmas colored words sealing the deal that Sam should stick to making jerky and hire someone else to deal with anything that requires artistic skills xD Then there’s PNG’s of the jerky floating around that look like cat turds. So then when I opened the bag and looked inside, all that ran through my mind was “cat turds.”

And now with every bite I feel like I’m biting into a cat turd and anytime I feel a sheen of oil on the top of my mouth caused by the jerky, I’m like... my mouth is saturated in cat-turd oil.

I’m rating it five stars though because it would be easy to change the packaging. Please change the packaging.

And also, please possibly make the jerky not shaped like cat turds and also not leave the oil sheen. I like the taste and want to keep eating/buying these, but without being slightly grossed out the entire time.

It's hard to do paleo/low carb/keto without heavy reliance on animal products, but the least I can do is try to reserve real meat and eggs for when nothing else will do, and substitute vegetarian and vegan alternatives where it is nutritionally adequate and/or real meat doesn't matter that much.

The price of Harvest Jerky makes it a bit of a luxury, on par with the cost of real meat jerky. It is softer than real meat jerky and the flavor is a bit different, but that's not a bad thing. My favorite pieces were the drier, chewier ones, though.

I wish it didn't have as much sugar, so it would be more compatible with a keto/low carb diet, but it is delicious as is. I bought some plain Butler Soy Curls (the base ingredient in Harvest Jerky) to experiment with. Maybe I will be able to come up with a reasonable homemade version to my own preference without sugar and perhaps chewier.

I paid about $8 for a single pack, including Prime shipping. Multi-packs bring the cost down closer to $5 a bag.

I hemmed about whether to give this 4 or 5 stars, but decided that it deserved 5. It's really good. It's spicier than I expected, but not too hot. The heat is just right. The texture is close enough to "real" jerky to satisfy my craving. Yes, you can tell the difference, but it's still really good. The flavor is strong and enticing, although the smell does resemble Beg'n Strips or some similar moist dog treat. I've tried probably 4 or 5 kinds of vegetarian jerky and this is the best I've had so far. Would recommend.

I love this stuff!! No joke, I have tried many jerky alternatives including both soy and seitan options. Each seems to be lacking . But this... The flavor is amazing. A little spice, a little sweet, a little smoky, a little salty! Another great thing is the chew. It is so so close to being the same as chewing regular jerky. Over all would buy again, will buy again, and have already recommended to many!

It's true that these really are incredible. The texture is fantastic. The flavor is so full of barbecue and spices that it actually caught me offguard as overwhelming at first. Now I'm pretty sure I have a new addiction. I usually spend hours a week cooking special meals from scratch to meet all of my dietary needs. This jerky aligns with my dietary preferences and provides me with an instant snack that I didn't have to slave over. When I want more than a snack, I throw in a string cheese and some fruits and veggies for a finger food meal.

I have tried absolutely every brand of vegetarian jerky and nothing comes close to this brand. Some vegetarian jerky brands taste like what I imagine dog treats would taste like, and the texture isn't much better. This brand is flavorful, has a unique texture, and a huge plus - isn't incredibly high in sodium. A great protein source, too, so definitely worth the money. I'm taking some bags on a backpacking trip so willing to make that investment for a good, non perishable protein source.

I've had friends try this stuff and they're all surprised how good it is. And they're not even vegetarians. As a vegetarian, I love this stuff and will definitely order more. I also tried some of the Primal Strips jerky, which is not as good. It has good flavor, but it's texture is less like real beef jerky (at least how I remember it used to be like). The Sam's jerky is spot-on for taste and texture to real jerky. Don't hesitate to give it a try.
