Potensic Upgraded A20 Mini Drone Easy to Fly Even to Kids and Beginners, RC Helicopter Quadcopter with Auto Hovering, Headless Mode, Extra Batteries and Remote Control-Green

 Bought as a fun toy for my boyfriend and our dog. Blu likes to chase birds outside and figured this would be great for indoors. Well... he LOVES it!

 Great beginner drone. Easy to fly and goes where you are aiming for. I included a video of my 8 year old flying it for the first time.

 SUMMARY: Durable and has protected propellers which makes it safe to learn on. The altitude hold is a great feature for first time fliers. Perfect for younger kids and adults who are kids at heart.
UPDATE: To avoid having it uncontrollably gain altitude DO NOT use the auto takeoff button. Instead pull both sticks down and in until motors start to spin. I have also purchased the UDI 46 which is the exact same item (but blue) which is sometimes less expensive.
DETAILED REVIEW:
Flying: With the altitude hold, this quadcopter hovers like the firefly, for which it’s named. You will need to make small corrections, but it makes it easy to learn the basics of flying. Try flying figure 8’s around obstacles and through the legs of chairs and soon you’ll be ready for something more expensive. It has 3 speeds from walking speed to jogging. It beeps to let you know. It is a bit tame for more advanced fliers and it doesn’t do flips. I’ve flown it outside up to 60 ft away and above the height of telephone poles. Understandably it can’t handle more than a light breeze. It has automatic motor shut off when it crashes (I crashed on purpose in my video).

Battery: It has a non-removable battery with a tiny plug that is a little tricky. I got 5 ½ minutes indoor flying before the lights started to blink and 7 minutes before it auto-landed. The charger has a small red light on the chord which turns green after about 30-40 minutes of charging.

Design: Made of a very durable rubbery plastic which seems indestructible. The propellers are well protected and they pull off if needed. The frames seem similar but is slightly shorter and wider than other mini copters (F36, H36, E010) but the body seems to have a much more premium construction (see picture). There is a nice white headlight and a red taillight which work well for orienting the front and back. It has a very small on and off switch and plug on the back. Some people may not like that the battery is not easily removable. The charging chord plug is also very small making it hard to tell which side is up and down but it is not a big deal.

Controller: It is small but easy to use and quality far superior to those on other mini copters. The control pads are a bit stiff at first but great once they break in. It takes 3 AAA batteries (not included).

My Tips: Periodically take off the propellers to remove dust bunnies which can build up inside. Remember to put them back in the right spot. There are 2 different props. Diagonal props are the same. Keep the box it is compact and nice quality. It can be used to transport it. Altitude hold seems to work better if it is manually launched (pull both sticks down and in) rather than using auto take off. If you have a hard crash you might want to shut it off and restart it because the gyros can get confused.

The Company & Quality: Mine did not work in headless mode and it had altitude hold problems. When I opened up the controller it looked like a bad solder on the circuit board. These toy copters often share stock parts and are prone to quality glitches so I don’t hold it against them. I contacted Potensic and their customer service was great. They were helpful in customer support and were willing to stand behind their product. The new one is perfect.

Other Options: The H36/F36/E010 are much harder to fly without altitude hold and they don’t seem as good in quality. There are similar models with cameras but that will drain batteries and cost more.

This is the best "mini-drone" (quadcopter) in its class out of three we have tried, and the first one that we felt worthy of repurchasing for family gatherings so the kids don't have to share. No camera on something this small of course.

Pros:
(1) Super easy controlled take-offs with the push of a button that then hovers in a very stable mode as you get ready to fly it. Great out of the box.
(2) Altitude lock works well and is a must have feature on these pocket drones if wanting to safely fly indoors
(3) When it is on slow speed it can be truly "slow" and still stay aloft. This allows for young kids to play with it better and allows for safer indoor use. I also think it increases the flight time on one charge compared to other pocket drones in the same price point (about 10 minutes, others 6, see here: Top Race Pocket Drone Quad Copter 2.4 Ghz With Headless Mode Unbreakable RC Mini Pocket Drone (TR-MQ7))
(4) Very easy to control, hardly ever ends up getting crashed

Cons: Not many, more like potential improvements
(1) Wish there was a light inside the main body that truly illuminated it for nighttime flying. The outside lights work OK for dusk but that is it.
(2) There is no "return" button that flies it back to the controller. However, there is a push button auto-land that safely lands it no matter where it is while in range. So if you need to panic, you can still push that button. Also given that we have not found the "auto return" function to work all that well on the models that do have it, I don't consider the lack of it here a big deal.
(3) The fans are partially exposed on the top unlike some other truly "caged" models, which may make them easier to damage. But there are still full 360 degree horizontal bumpers and so far this has not been an issue because we rarely crash it because it flies so well. They provide 4 replacement blades which we have not had to try to swap out yet.

There are pros and cons to all these different quadcopters, but so far this one is the best mix of things on average and the most fun by far. 4 1/2 stars.

Bought it as a gift. The kids played with it and it seemed to perform as expected. They had fun and at the end of the night it left with the birthday boy. He is a rough kid so I can only imagine once he got home he destroyed it ;-) no fault of the product. From my day of observation all were happy and it worked as expected. Seemed easy for them. One of the boys did knock it out of the air with a pillow. I powered off and on and once again she flew like a bird!

Altitude Hold Mode

Lock the flight height, give you an easier control of the flight. It can release one of your hand in controlling vertical direction, just focus on forward, backward, left and right.

Low Battery Alarm

When the drone battery is low, then the transmitter will sound beep di-di-di…to alarm and remind you to fly back the drone as soon as possible for avoiding lost and get rid of concerns.

This thing operates as smoothly and easily as an indoor drone will EVER operate (probably). Our 12 year old & 7 year old grandkids were doing great fun flights after just a few introductory instructions from 73 year old me. Just pair the drone to the controller (move left stick forward then backward) hit the OneTouch button to pop up the drone about five feet in air (keep the rear red light always pointing rearward for easiest operation) then move the drone where you want with the right stick. Use the left stick forward or backwards if you want to raise or lower the drone. Move the left stick Left or Right to rotate the drone clockwise or counter clockwise (to keep the red light pointing in its same starting position.

Try not to change the controller's orientation during the flight. In other words, keep sitting or standing and pointing the controller in the same direction throughout the whole flight - no matter where the drone goes. Hit the OneTouch button again when you are over your landing area. (Best controlled landing you could ask for.)

If you really want to trim the drone (to minimize drift when hovering in place) push straight DOWN on the TOP of the left stick (like you were trying to push the stick INTO the controller) while correcting any drift by moving the right stick as needed to hold the drone in place. Let go of both sticks and see if you are happy with your corrections to the drift.

If you want a fantastic little drone to fly in the house this little quadcopter is perfect! The quality of both the drone and the transmitter is more than I expected. It holds altitude and responds to trimming very well and is very stable while in flight. The three speed modes are great but I would recommend sticking with slow speed until you get used to flying it. The one button take off and landing as well as the headless mode work perfectly. I got about 6 minutes of flight and the USB charger took about 35 minutes to recharge the battery. I would highly recommend the Potensic A20 if you want an indoor flyer.

Very easy to fly for a five year old. And adults. I got three diferente mini drones this Xmas And this one stood out for its ease of flight and nice instructions (trust me, these were written in English as opposed to Chinese to English which are incomprehensible!) totally worth the price. It’s also fallen a bunch of times and seems more substantial than other mini ones.

In my opinion this is the PERFECT drone for beginners. Between the altitude hold (hovers by itself) and three speed levels, this thing is a breeze to fly. Flip it into high speed mode and it'll zip around the room like you wouldn't believe. I've also smashed it into plenty of walls and it still flies true. I bought two of these and had a blast teaching my father how to fly in my living room. A lot of fun to fly, you'll definitely get your money out of this little guy

Noico Metal Barrel Roller Installation Tool for Automotive Sound Deadening Insulation Materials for Cars & Truck (Audio Dampening & Deadener Installation)

I'd like to give a honest review of this product. I really liked this roller. I used it to install my Noico sound deadener on my truck front doors and wife's four door car. What I really liked about it was the small ripples on the wheel. It was impossible to see and roll on the inside of the door at the same time on most places for me. I could see where I rolled and where I missed based on the ripples imprint left by the wheel. I had a couple of really tight spots that no wheel would fit. The back side of the handle is smooth and small, so it fit in the small area to be pressed in. I was able to still see a couple of air pockets through the ripple effect (which is my fault not the rollers). I used my pocket knife to relieve the air pocket and rolled over it again.
Why one star missing? The handle did work well and strong enough for its use but, I would of like to have a wood handle for its price. With that said I did and would chose this roller over the others because of the ripples.

I had temporarily lost my dynamat roller so bought this in its place; I figured spending almost $20 on another dynamat one (especially since I knew I still had it) was silly. Turns out I found the dynamat one the same day this arrived, so I was able to use both and can provide some comparison.

The dynamat roller is high quality rubber material with a bearing in it; the rubber is soft enough to somewhat mold to the contour you're applying sound deadening material to. It's wooden handle is nice quality and can double as a pushing tool for corners, etc.

This roller is much heavier (it's metal with a plastic handle). The handle is pretty comfortable and can similarly be used in corners, etc. It does not, at all, conform to the surface below, which is absolutely fine if you're rolling on large panel or other non-heavily contoured surfaces. It's a bit annoying if you're rolling on contoured surfaces. However, I wouldn't say it detracts from the functionality. I think the weight of it, combined with the grooved rolling surface, does a better overall job than the dynamat roller. That said, having both is nice.

Roller weight adds to the ease of sound proofing material application. However, roller orientation was not square to the handle resulting in an uneven pressure to one side. This required additional rolling to obtain a smooth surface rather than one with grooves across the material. If used too vigorously the brass roller can etch the painted surface and even chip paint on metal edges which could lead to possible rust if not repainted.

This tool is an absolute must when applying sound deadening material to your car interior (or for most any other applications). It allows you to fully apply the adhesive and ensure it’s stuck to the material your trying to insulate without air gaps. Air gaps mean no insulation.

I was impressed how heavy the roller is and how this tool works for the price. Well made and should last long unless you use it as a hammer. Using this really aided in getting the deadening material around off countoured shapes on my floorboard and trans tunnel, making the material look as if it’s been vacuum molded to my interior. Well worth it.

This actually is a solid steel knurled roller (plastic handle though) and it does come from Russia. Awesome. I got it for the express purpose of installing the Noico 80mm butyl, which it has no problem with at all. Can't speak to longevity since I just got it, but it feels pretty solid, except for the aforementioned plastic handle, but even that is pretty beefy. Worth it for an install job. Better than having your stuff fall off all over the inside of your car.

Anyone who used cheap plastic crappy rollers to apply sound deadening material knows the importance of a strong, heavy, durrible roller. This is it— look 👀 no further. The roller is made with HEAVY roller, quality attachments with nice wood handle. It’s night & day difference between cheap, light, crap that breaks your hand pushing compared to this heavy steel roller. Buy it- period!

I've not tried the other types of rollers, this was my first sound deadening installation. I used it to install over 200 square feet in a dodge promaster van and it's still as good as new. I like the pattern it leaves behind in the foil so I know where I've already rolled. I initially thought my hands would be good enough, but I'm glad I got a roller as it helps get the insulation very flat against the metal and makes air bubbles easy to find.

Good stuff, works well. If you have an older car with a more flat structure it's the best one (I got the wooden handle shown, not the plastic one some people received). A newer car with a lot more strengthening ridges and hills and valleys in the structure will take much much longer, and could benefit from a smaller diameter roller to get into smaller spaces, but that said it does and excellent job and the textured metal pushes well.

Worked very well! Exactly what was needed to roll my noico 80 mil sound mat! Was able to do all 4 doors of my F150 and the roller is still working perfect. Only *improvement* I would recommend is maybe a little bit of graphite or grease to lube up the metal on metal contact of the roller and the hinge. Wasn't enough to take a star and product was still quiet/efficient enough to suffice.

The heavy metal wheel really presses the mats down flat. The wheel is riveted into the handle bracket so no worries about it slipping out during heavy use. My only gripe is that the corners are cut so sharp that it can cut through the foil backing on the material if you are aggressively showing it into an inside corner.

 I'm a fun of drones, this one is lightweightl, easy to control. My iPhone Xs max fit perfect in the remote control. It includes an extra battery so you can enjoy it for about 20 min of flying. The quality of the photos are good and the app works great with iOS. Have a lot of functions and is simple to use.

 This is my first drone, I’m a total beginner but I was able to record this video I took with its onboard camera as soon as I was ready to fly. I have crashed so many times I think this little thing is indestructible, one time I accidentally pushed the emergency shut off button on the transmitter and little snap fell from 10 feet high onto the tile floor and the camera which is attached to the battery door came loose and I thought I had finally broken this marvel, I put it back together and it started flying again! Two of the trim cups covering the motors got lost in crashes. One of the prop guards broke but now I’m more confident flying this thing without them and now I look at my scratched up drone and the more scratched the more I love it, this thing is tough. I’m flying it better every time I fly it, by the way I clocked the flight time of the batteries and when it landed automatically it was shy of the 10 minutes (9:50’s or so) and it still comunicated with my iPhone to download video to my photos thru the air. Awesome!

I've never flown a drone before this one, so I can not compare it to any others. The drone was very inexpensive compared to some of the others out there, but had good reviews so I went with it. I can now say I am very pleased with it as my first drone and have already had a lot of fun with it.

Getting the drone going is pretty easy as long as you follow the instructions. One interesting thing I saw is that the reviews for the android version of the app are pretty poor, but I've had no problem with the app. I suspect since there is such a wide variety of android devices out there, that some just don't work quite as well with it. (perhaps differing qualities of wifi chipsets or something of that nature?) If you want to look at the google play store reviews yourself, look up snaptain era. (there's another snaptain something or other on there too -- not sure why there are two) Another thing to keep in mind -- the screenshots for the app show it in chinese only. Let me assure you that it is absolutely not all in chinese -- and devs if you read this, I'd highly recommend uploading some english UI pictures as well. =) (even had a cute little tutorial video for getting started that is in english)

I did find that the camera often would lose real time viewing -- but I was flying it based off my own eyes rather than looking through the screen.

It does seem to have a habit of "floating" to one side instead of hovering tightly in place, but I don't know how much of that might be related to my own quality of attaching the blade protectors and such. (ie maybe they're out of balance) And it's not particularly bad, just something to compensate for.

The battery life is only about 7-9 minutes I would say -- so keep that in mind. (i did not the first time flying it) It does come with a second battery. Also if you write a review like I'm doing here -- you can get a free accessory. either an extra 2 batteries, a micro sd card, or an action camera. Pretty cool that they do that. (and honestly I'm bad about writing reviews so good incentive)

Overall I love the functionality of the drone, the app, and the little controller that comes with it. It has some minor isms here and there but I expected that at the price point! And none of the issues have stopped me from enjoying it.

On an amusing note, I did manage to run it out of batteries while it was over my roof and had to fish it out of the gutter. =)

 It is easy to control, and the second battery included gives you a longer flying time. It is also durable, I have had a some crashes but nothing have broken yet.

For the price of the unit the Drone is fantastic. It is quick and it lasts for a while. It is also small enough that it can be flown indoors and large enough that it can fly outside on a calm day. The drone is very user friendly and easy to assemble. And for the most part crash resistant. I have been flying for about a month now and it has held up. The only thing that has not held up was on one of the blade guards where the screw threads into the drone the part broke. The guard still sets in place and stays in place it only comes off when there is a hard impact and the drone shuts itself off. One really nice feature is the emergency shut off so when you get into a sticky situation it is nice to just shut it off. Also the wifi to the cell phone is fun and nice. It has many features that I have yet to explore and am waiting for a nice calm day outside to have fun with it. The camera is okay quality on the drone best during the day and am working on being a smoother camera operator. A lot of the time I fly without the camera because it tends to last a bit longer. Overall the drone is a lot of fun and going to keep on flying. One Tip is to get the extra batteries because it makes your day so much longer and more fun.

Why choose SNAPTAIN Drones?
1. 3D Flip Function (Note: the quadcopter should fly to a height of at least 3m (10ft) to perform this function). Press the 3D flip button. Push the right joystick to perform 360-degree flip in an appointed direction.

2. Headless Mode - Press the headless mode button, wait for the two beeps and the LED light to flash twice (use the joystick to control the direction). Press the headless mode button again to exit the mode.

3. One Key Return - Press the return key and hold for 2-3 seconds (the quadcopter will return to its starting point). Press any key to exit the mode.

4. Trajectory Flight To activate: press the trajectory flight button (use the altitude hold function for a steady flight). Draw a line on the control panel to create a flight trajectory for the drone. Tap anywhere else to cancel the trajectory.

5. Speed Switch - For medium speed: press the speed switch once and wait for two beeps of the remote buzzer. For high speed: press again and listen for three beeps. To return to low speed: press for the third time and listen for one beep.

6. Pressure Altitude Hold – In this mode, the quadcopter maintains a constant altitude. The user can control the roll and pitch, lean angles and heading.

 Great product! I bought this drone for my young son, who all but mastered it the first time out. The attached video is from our first time flying, and despite the rookie pilots flying the drone, it is clear and steady. The drone is good quality and really easy to fly. I may have to buy one for myself.

For the past couple of week, I've been sucked into the Drone hobby. I love this hobby since it combines my love of photography along with my love
I'm amazed how resistant this little guy is to moderate wind. It's small, nimble, and quite robust for the size; I'm also surprised it handled a couple head-on crashes it subjected to in high-speed mode with no damage! Upon impact, the accelerometer would immediately cut off and disable the motors preventing further prop or additional damage. Also, this has to be one of the more if not the most stable micro Drone on the market.
Now the negatives; I've attempted to pair this with various devices. the first device, my Oneplus 5 phone works flawlessly, however, on my fiance's Moto X Pure, the application will randomly crash or fail to detect the Tello even if the phone's connected to the wifi network. Next, on-screen controls can be a little annoying at times. I've often noticed I've hit a home button or swiped out of the app
Finally, the most annoying gripe for me is the battery. To recharge, you need to provide your own micro-USB cable and physically connect to the Drone. Recharging typically takes about 90 minutes per battery via USB. 3 hours to recharge 2 batteries for a total of 26 minutes of flight time is a buzz kill for me. The authorized recharging hub charges the batteries sequentially; 30 minutes to recharge each; meaning one at a time so 90 minutes for three batteries. I'm tempted to buy a 3rd party charger that's able to recharge 4 batteries simultaneously with a 30 minute recharge time total.

This drone is a great product, easy to set up and use. I really enjoy flying it... only draw backs are that when flying the drone it sometimes veers off course, but you can fix that with the clipping button. When clipping that means you can adjust which direction the drone goes. Just a heads up clipping can distract the flyer and may result in crashing. One other thing is that the batteries only last ten to fifteen minutes before you have to charge them for about an hour. Charging the batteries is necessary of course, just don't be surprised when your drone runs out of juice in the middle of a flight. You then would have to land it on the ground before it falls. Overall, it flies great and is a good gift for kids even as young as 12, if responsible. I'm a twelve year old girl and got this product for Christmas. I could fly it the first day and loved it. I would totally recommend this as a great present whether it be for a birthday or Christmas. Thanks for reading and happy shopping!

I bought this as a going away gift to an amazing boss, to remind her of our shared love of cats and fart jokes. This got the EXACT response I was hoping for. Its cotton candy and a gag gift all in one. How could you go wrong with this one :). The cotton candy itself is fine and tastes like "unicorn farts"... just kidding. Its decent quality cotton candy and doesn't taste much different than other pink cotton candy. We just received these yesterday. They actually came early. I got them for my 6 year old granddaughter. Her favorite color is purple and she was absolutely thrilled that I had found the color for her. She and my 4 year old granddaughter have not put them down yet. Excellent purchase all the way around.

I bought these for my nephews birthday. I will say that they are smaller than expected and they take a total of 8 AAA batteries, but they seem to work well and they're pretty cute. I think the little boys are enjoying them. They look official. I'm not sure what some of the buttons do, but I didn't thoroughly read the instructions before I gave them away.

Gave these to my son's friend for his 7th birthday a few months ago. Every time I see his little buddy, he tells me how much he loves these walkies. Great gift for the price. Works as described.

I purchased these for my 6 year old grandson and gave them to him Aug 2018. They do not come with batteries, so I had to put SIX batteries in before I gave him the walkie talkies. They worked fine and he loves them. He's only had them for two weeks, so I can't speak to the quality of this product over a long period of time.
