Wasserstein Adjustable Indoor/Outdoor Security Metal Wall Mount for Arlo Pro, Arlo Pro 2, Arlo Ultra, and Other Compatible Models (2 Pack, White)

These white metal wall mounts work perfect with our Arlo cameras. I didn't trust the magnet mount on our front porch, the camera was too easy to remove and I was worried someone would just reach up and grab it. This wall mount is nicer! We hung it up at the top of our porch to the side of the front door. It's about 7' up as recommended for the camera and we were able to angle the camera so it catches people walking up the walkway. I can see when we get deliveries, and also when people walk across the lawn past our porch.

Since the camera screws onto this wall mount I'm not too worried about someone grabbing it. By the time someone unscrewed the camera (7 feet up) we would already have been notified that someone was there. These wall mounts are perfect for the places you really need to monitor. The round magnetic ones we use for different areas in the backyard/house so we can move them around easier to monitor the pets.

**UPDATE**
I received a replacement mount pretty darn quick. It was flawless. Camera mounted without any difficulty this time.

Received my order of Aftermarket outdoor camera mounts. Immediately, I could tell the difference between the original and this mount. The weight is about 1/2 of the original. The description states more access to the USB port. Can't say for sure on that. The greatest dissatisfaction is the threaded mount that screws into the back of the camera does not screw all the way in. It acts as if it's either the wrong threads per inch or SAE vs Metric. Unable to mount the second camera because it was acting as if it was cross threading. Both the camera's threads seem ok and the threaded mount of the assembly seems ok. Just wouldn't thread and didn't want to ruin my Arlo Pro. So here we are

Mounts were campatible with arlo cameras. Fast shipment and came with screws for mounting. I did have issues positioning camera direction because when you try to lock down position the mount would change camera position. Was a little frustrating because locking it down forced position change. Had to overcompensate to make it work.

Excellent Outdoor Mounts that are easily adjusted for camera position. However, the round thumb nut, used to lock the mounting screw with the camera, is to large to allow the camera to be powered by an AC outdoor cable. I solved this problem by replacing the large thumb nut with a small metal nut. (see photo) If the vendor would include a small nuts (nylon) in the hardware package, it would solve this problem.

Use a 1/4 inch hex bolt instead of the plastic wheel and you will be able to use an L shaped power plug for constant power. You may have to file a little off the angles that protrude from the hex bolt to make it go on more easily, but now you will have a $20 wall mount for about $6. A 1/4 inch hex bolt is about 15 cents or less at a hardware store. Just take the wall mount to the store and try bolts until you get one that fits. A rivet nut would probably be even better, but I wasn't able to find one in my garage.

Of course, you can also just use scissors to cut down the outside of the plastic wheel until you can get the power plug in. I did that also.

Pretty simple when you think about it, but it took me an hour to figure out what to do...ah well. I hope this helps fuel other solutions, as $19 for a wall mount is just ridiculous.

These mounts appear to be cast aluminum and painted, which should hold up to damp climates reasonably well. They seem pretty solid once installed, I had a couple issues during install:

The casting isn't great, so when tightening the collar the part the camera mounts to snags in the joint and tries to turn with it. I had to have the camera assembly rotated counter clockwise a bit so it would be in the right place when I tightened the collar.

I had a couple of screws snap with a handheld screwdriver even with pre-drilled holes going into the eaves under my roof. Luckily they provided extras, so I pre-drilled the holes a little bigger and tried again.

So to sum it up they are perfectly functional and look fine but could use some improvement in materials and craftsmanship. That being said, its easy to overlook the less than perfect quality considering how ridiculously cheap they are, so I would probably order them again in the future.

This mount does not look exactly like stock adjustable mount provided by Arlo. The lock "nut" that snugs against the camera is larger and easier to operate on this mount. I also believe it is sturdier than the original Arlo mount. The mounting method is the same: three screws secure the base to the surface you are mounting it to. The adjustments are the same and also more secure in my opinion. So why get this mount? Maybe because you get two mounts for about half the price of one sold by Arlo. My Arlo system came with three cameras, but only one adjustable mount. I originally mounted one of my two outside cameras using the magnetic indoor mount. When I found this mount after looking for an OE one from Arlo, I went for it. Glad I did!

These mounts are essential if you are going to install your security cameras outdoors. They are sturdy and yet compact, and come with a couple of options to attach to an exterior wall. In my case, I needed much longer screws, but since I had them on-hand, I was able to install each mount in about 15 minutes. Adjusting the camera angle is a bit tricky, as you have to get the screw turned almost tight in order for the camera to maintain the angle, then when you twist it another 1/4 turn to tighten it completely, the angle changes. After a few tries, I got it right. Product arrived in the same shipment as my Arlo 2 kit, in perfect condition. Highly recommended.

I found this product while reviewing the best outdoor mounts for the Arlo Pro camera system. It definitely is easy to install anywhere around the outside of the house. Once screwed down, it is very sturdy and hold the camera without any give. My one issue is the swivel part right behind the camera seems to be fixed down. Not sure if this is due to manufacturing or not. It took a bit of time to loosen it up, but even then once you start to screw it down, the swivel function becomes limited before you fully tighten it. This is compared to the Arlo outdoor mount which freely allows manipulation of the camera without any issues. Still highly recommend as an alternative to the more pricier Arlo outdoor mount.

The mounts were easy to install and adjust to use with the Arlo Pro 2 cameras. I had both of them up with cameras attached within 15 minutes. The one issue with mount is the round plastic piece on the the screw, it gets in the way of the Wasserstein outdoor power cable. This really surprised me since both products are made by them. I had to remove the round piece of plastic on the screw so that the power cable could be used. An easy thing to do, but surprised to come across that issue.

YI 1080p Home Camera, Indoor 2.4G IP Security Surveillance System with Night Vision for Home/Office/Baby/Nanny/Pet Monitor with iOS, Android App - Cloud Service Available

Bought this to monitor our front door while away on a trip. Delivery of the item was on time and I got it set up on my android phone in less than a half hour. We bought a 32GB micro SD card for it and positioned the camera to view outside the office window towards our front porch and the picture is very clear at all times of the day! I am able to receive the alerts and view them from my phone and/or laptop. I am also able to view more than the 6 second clip if I want to watch the full footage of the movement. It is easy to save the 6 second clip to the SD card; however it doesn't save the full footage. But I found out that if I leave that clip in that day's activities then I can still view the footage. I have set both the sensitivity and alert frequency settings to low and it still picks up passing vehicles but I am okay with that since I am able to delete the unneeded clips easily. I am amazed and pleased that I can be hundreds of miles away and still be able to monitor my front porch. And it's considerably cheaper than the Ring or Nest products. I am very pleased with this product!!!

This thing is amazing. Picture is super clear and detailed. The only thing that would make it better is if it told me the temp in my toddlers room (I use it as a baby monitor). Sound quality is great. Such a great buy.

Good camera, im using it with a 64GB SD card, its been almost a week since I installed it and the card still has over 20GB free space.

The seller is a pain in the @ss emailing daily begging for feedback.

I have tried several other known name cameras and the quality of this is very good compared those out their with a good app. I just ordered another camera and actually read the privacy policy which I recommend you do, unless you don’t care about that stuff. Here’s my take in the camera itself.

SETUP
Very easy and quick. Only connects to 2.4G wifi.

CAMERA / AUDIO
Video resolution quality is very good. Probably one of the best if not the best i’ve tested (Blink and Canary). If you’re curious about doorbell cams, I currently have a Ring doorbell 2 installed and this video quality is noticeably better and clearer pointing out in the same area. Night vision works well and is clear which can be manually turned off if desired. Streaming is fluid and haven't experienced any buffering or freezing yet. Clear picture and good colors. Motion dection WORKS through dual pane glass window! It will record motion as it picks it up. For example, I have the detection set only on the floor section of the porch so it only detects motions as soon as someone walks onto my porch (not walk by). If someone delivers a package and puts it on my porch which will then activate mobile notifications, the camera playback will record BEFORE the person fully walks up to my porch (the detection zone). The motion notifications to my cell is fairly quick. The microphone picks up sound very well through dual a pane window and the speaker can be heard clearly from outside for example if you put this at your front door and want to communicate.

APP
Nicely designed and user friendly with lots of features. Here are just some of those features: set a 4 digit passcode or Touch ID to view camera feed, ability to turn camera and mic on/off, flip the image 180 degrees, pan view for wider angles in portrait mode (uses motion of your phone similar to the 360 videos or swipe), record while viewing live!, take and save snap shots while viewing live!, two way talk. Customize motion detection area size and placement. I've experienced live view connects in 3 seconds or less.

STORAGE
It has a micro SD memory card slot! Not available with Canary and Blink. With YI you get free 6 second motion clips with cloud storage and if you want to view full clips you will need to add a micro SD card. Clips are saved for at least 5 days (could be longer, I haven’t really paid attention). YI also offers different storage plans so check those out if you plan on using that. I personally just use an SD card.

BUILD QUALITY
First packaging is quality (not that you care but is a nice touch). Build quality is excellent. I know it's a knock off of the Nest dropcam design but I don't care, it's $30! now (I paid $60 at the time) and it's excellent for the price. The camera itself is rotatable and removable from its stand which offers more custom mounting ideas with its design. The camera has to be plugged into power though. It comes with a decent length power cord but I think it should be longer. Wall mount is not included. Bottom of the stand has a rubber pad for sturdier stance.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I am impressed with this camera and what YI is offering their customers. They are definetly competing hard with the more expensive well known players like Nest, Blink, Canary, Samsung etc. If you’re ok with the privacy policy then this a good camera.

UPDATE 2/2019:
A couple things we’ve noticed is 1) the quickness to view the camera and 2) the apps recording alerts. What I mean by the first “issue” is when someone rings/knocks at the door, it takes a bit too long to open the app, load and view the person at the door. We have a pin/fingerprint lock set up on ours so that could be a factor. As for #2, what ever update Yi did to the app is frustrating. EVERYTIME we get a notification alert and go to the app to view it, it stays on loading and doesn’t show the recording or the alert. Very annoying and makes it sort of pointless. I know it’s not the app on my phone because my wife has the same problem on her phone. Hopefully they fix this issue real quick.

I would've given this 5 Stars, no hesitation..but it lasted one week is all. I had noticed a slight degradation of the video quality the night before, two nights before that I noticed it wouldn't hold HD settings..instead of 1080P it looked more like 480p. In actuality it worked for only 4 days. Tonight when I went to power it up, the yellow light came on briefly, it made two clicks then the App showed an unknown error. The 'power on' button wouldn't respond at all.

Edited & updated 6/27/18: After the camera had received updates it began to work what would be considered 'normal' again. So I've changed my rating to 4 stars, as I've used it extensively since. I will now most likely be getting at least one more in the near future.

The picture quality on this is fantastic! And I love being able to record little videos. We already had a “normal” baby monitor but bought this to help ease our minds when leaving baby with a sitter. We’ve ended up using it a lot more than we thought we would!

Easy setup! We have used Insteon cameras, Arlo cameras, and also have a Samsung camera, which we are having issues with already. Capabilities of the YI 1080P camera are comparable to other cameras we have paid a lot more for. Picture is very clear. We can rotate camera easily with cell phone. Voice out of the camera is good quality. Changing settings and schedule of monitoring is easy, but a little more limited than others. This camera meets all of my requirements for a simple security solution, and I would take this for indoor use above any other cameras we have used, and the price is considerably less than the manufactures listed above. I would highly recommend this camera, but we have not yet used the Micro SD card for storage yet, and we still are impressed with what we are getting

Wow, this camera has exceeded all my expectations. I've had a Canary, Foscam and Amcrest wireless cameras and have returned each due to some of their limitations. I'm not saying that they are bad (By the way I thought the Foscam had the best and clearest picture). Each one of those cameras had certain limitations on what you can do and view unless you signed up for their cloud based service. Accessing the files on the SD card had to be done either by manually removing it, or using some buggy software that would work in Windows IE but not on a Mac or other browsers, or you would have to use a separate FTP program and even that was buggy. Anyway, you had to jump through hoops to view the files (from the phone app) unless you bought the cloud service to be able to access the files. Otherwise you had to physically remove the SD Card each time and connect to a PC. Or use Windows and IE, or use the very buggy FTP which would sometimes require rebooting the camera because the FTP service would hang up.

Fast Forward to the Yi Camera. I bought it on Prime Day because it was cheap and I figured it's better than nothing. This thing is amazing! So easy to setup (the others were also), but the software is very intuitive and you can do EVERYTHING from the mobile App. You can get alerts with short video previews which you can then opt to either view or download the entire clip right to your phone. You can also access ALL of the files on the SD card via the phone app with a beautifully created interface that has a nice timeline of showing the activity along with thumbnail previews. All of this can be done WITHOUT paying for their cloud service.

Night Vision is excellent and the Alert system works great and hasn't missed a beat. I am beyond happy how useful the software is and easy to navigate. It's also very reliable and any file I wanted to review was easily accessible and I could easily share or save with 1 click. I do wish the camera had some kind of mount on the bottom for like a tripod or other universal type connection, but double sided tape or velcro will work if I need to mount it somewhere. The 2 way talking is also better on this camera than any of the other ones I tried. The mic is sensitive and you can clearly hear what's going on in the room and easily have a conversation with a person remotely without it dropping out or being hard to hear. This was another feature that really impressed me and I didn't think was going to work this well on a camera at this price.
I would definitely purchase another one of these cameras (and probably will) not just because they are inexpensive, but they just work!

Love love this camera! For the price you get a lot of bang for your buck. I can see and zoom in. It rotates to see more along the sides and has a two way speaker. As long as you have decent WIFI connection and only need to see one area you are good with this inexpensive but to offer piece of mind while your not home. I coupled this with the ring door bell so I have view from outside and in!

Love this camera! I actually bought it so I can keep my eye on my dog while I’m away at lunch for work & irs awesome. It’s super easy to set up & has really neat features on it like motion detection & sound detection so if for some reason the dog (or baby) cries it’ll alert you directly on your phone so you can pull up the video.
This also allows you to speak to whoever is on the opposite side of the camera through your phone so I can calm my dog down should I ever need to.
For the price of this it’s definitely all it’s cracked up to be. Thinking about ordering another!

TurboLock Keyless Electronic Keypad Entry Door Lock Smart Knob Kit with Automatic Locking, Battery Backup & Easy Installation (No Bluetooth, Bronze)

PRO: I REALLY like this product. (I tried one initially to make sure and now have 3) I bought the bronze and it has a nice finish, feels & looks well made, all metal inside and out (besides the plastic battery/electronics compartment) with nice heavy/sturdy feel with smooth action (I hate door handles that feel like there are about to fall off every time you use them). I thought it might look too big, but it doesn't, looks nice installed. This is a great easy solution, especially for doors without an existing deadbolt, so you can just use the standard door latch for a lock. Install only takes a screwdriver and 5 minutes. Obviously a deadbolt is a bit more secure, but [almost] any door/lock can be broken with the right force applied ;)

Another reviewer complained about the backup battery pack. I think it's a brilliant solution...
- I don't want another lock with physical key access that can be [easily] picked
- Physical keys have always had basic problems... lost, stolen, duplicates?, where to hide, etc.
- You don't have to put batteries in the backup until you need it... its just a separate battery pack to power the lock if the batteries in the lock die... it has nothing to do with the passcodes or settings in the lock, those must be in a Non-volatile RAM inside the device.
I put mine (battery backup) in the house fire safe which is in a hidden location (outside the turbolock'd doors ;)

Also a reviewer mentioned that the passcodes sometimes don't take. I had NO issues, but my wife did right away, so we did a couple of quick tests. The keypad is pretty tightly packed on the front of the knob and, and it was easy to see (because of her nails) she was often slightly hitting 2 keys at once. So, it's just about being a bit careful when keying in the codes.

No CONS, but some observations...
- In passage mode (no codes required), you still have to press any [single] key on keypad, to wake up the device to open the door. I'm sure this is obviously to save battery... not an issue at all, but it's there, and different than a basic latch
- The programming is a tiny bit fussy.
- Make sure you keep the instructions in a safe place, some of the modes / sequences are not easily remembered. (The full PDF of the instructions are online and downloadable)

Overall, I think this is a very nice, elegant solution to a common problem and the price is right. A really nice value even compared to a normal door latch. I will see how they last/work over time, but I like what I see so far a lot!

I would definitely recommend.

Note: I would like to see a feature enhancement... For the bluetooth version, would be nice if they could add a tampering alert/email/log that would let you know when/if someone tries to open the door when its locked, ie jiggles the knob, etc... tying that in with other home automation devices like your home security cameras could be very cool... nice to have but not required.

Works as advertised does all the things it says and more.

CAVEAT*** Do NOT CLOSE THE DOOR - don't close the door before programming - it is in locked unprogrammed mode before programming. I had to take the hinges off my door to get it reset...NO BUENO...but completely my fault.

Other than that once programmed it is awesome - really awesome - i am thinking about getting more.

this lock was as easy to install as a regular lock.I give high rating for this for easy install and fairly fast shipping.seller contacted me to see if i got it and that everything was ok(big plus) The only thing i have not given a rating is longevity.I believe that it looks like it would stand the test of time and will comment this in the next 6 months when i plan to purchase more.

I have been in the market for a digital door knob, searching amazon and other retail stores, it gave me several options, I needed something simple and weather proof.
I do read reviews as I do the bulk of my shopping online. I bought this lock and it has done everything it says it would do. Even the added security that if you put the wrong code in 3 times you can not re-enter programmed code for 15 seconds.
Now a lot can happen in 15 seconds. I love this feature.
It was easy to Install, and programming was a breeze.
I found my digital lock and love it!

Had to hold back one star because of poor assembly instructions. I was about to return the item because 1 hour into installation, the keys won't light up. Turns out the battery pack that is housed inside, takes 2 batteries on one side and 2 on the other side. I was only aware of one side. Please watch any YouTube on YL-99 installation and your installation will be a breeze else a frustrating experience from the user manual.

Replaced all outdoor doorknobs with these and glad I did. No more having to keep track of garage door key, shed key and house key and I don't have to worry if someone forgot to lock the door. It took me a little while to figure out how to put on the doors but once I did I installed them quickly. So far they have held up well in the hot summer temps and rainy days and will see how they do this winter. Have not had any problems with them not working and very satisfied with this product as well as pleased with how they work. I have no problem recommending them.

I use this lock on my office (interior) door and it blends right in with the other door handles! I am about to buy another one for another interior door. If you are installing this on an exterior door then it will take you maybe 15 min. In contrast, my interior door took more than a half hour because I had to mortise the latch plate so it would sit flush with the edge of the door.
Be careful to keep a screwdriver with you in case you accidentally close the door during installation and have to open the latch manually!
I own a rental property and use a different keyless lock there. I like this one by Turbolock better because I LOVE the feature of being able to punch in as many numbers as I want (in addition to the correct code) to throw off anyone who might be watching me enter through the secure door. Most people can remember 4 numbers, but 20 or so? I feel safe.

I bought a portable building to use as a shop for my small business that I have just started up. I bought this lock because of the reviews. It wasn’t the cheapest but it wasn’t the most expensive either. Once I got the building paid off my husband had the cut the home in the portable building door to make the lock fit. It looked really good and it programmed really easy. Feeling content we locked the door and headed to a neighboring town. During our visit it came some really bad rain storms. Upon a our arrival back to my shop, I tried to enter it. Well guess what. The lock has malfunctioned and now I’m locked out of
My shop, it’s 10.30 pm and I can’t get into my building.

Looks good. Low profile. Price is right. Easy to install. One cool feature, you can add dummy digits in the middle of entering the code to throw off the spying kids. One thing I wish they wrote on the install instructions: when you put the outside key code side of the knob in the door, the handle will not move the mechanism. I thought it was broken but when you complete the install it works. I guess the reason is that you have to put the code in the engage the mechanism even during install...

I have 2 of these locks. The only issue I have with them is the latch. The most recent lock when you turn the knob to the right the latch retracts all the way and door opens. When I turn the knob left the latch sometimes retracts 90% not letting me open the door. I was given another lock (a 3rd) from a friend which the latch did not retract all the way when the knob was turned in either direction. I contact manufacturer and the did offer to replace the lock however I did not have proof of purchase. The 2nd lock is installed and I just make sure I turn knob to the right.

Overall the locks are nice and do seem to be well constructed. As mentioned I have 2 installed and like them a lot. Bottom line check the lock before you install to make sure it m mechanically functions and you should not have an issue. Programming the lock was easy. Even thought I had latch issues I gave the lock 5 stars.

Kasa Cam by TP-Link – WiFi Camera for Home, Indoor Camera, Works with Alexa and Google (KC120)

SUMMARY: At least $30 (probably more) less than Nest, a much better picture than nest (night vision also), and gives you 2 days (up to 1GB) of cloud storage for recordings.. I dig it.

I'm giving it 5 stars, it might be more like 4.7 but I'm thinking the things that it needs will be added in software updates.

I bought the nest 2 weeks ago and was underwhelmed. This is much cheaper (though I got the nest on sale for $160... it's still $30) and gives you 2 days (up to 1GB) of cloud storage for free. That right there is what makes it worth it because every other cam (worth having) requires a subscription after a trial period. Everybody wants a piece of your monthly money because it's practically guaranteed income when people forget they pay for it.

The quality of the product is MUCH better than nest was (I also have a pretty good foscam spy camera that records to SD, Kasa Cam wins against that, too).

Setup was a piece of cake, but to be fair I'm pretty technical.

I do understand the other reviewers issue about the white cord, but ultimately I think they went that route because of the probability people will run this camera somewhere where the wire will be against a wall... and there is an abundantly more amount of white trim/light color walls (or just walls that look better with white than black). Even if you're hiding the camera, odds are the wire will be hidden also. So, the times when a black wire would be a better choice are minimal and it's just easier to let the user use one of the thousands they have lying around.

It only lets you schedule the 'on/off' setting, i.e. when you go to work. Nest has a location setting where if you're home it won't notify you. So Kasa will basically shut off or turn on at times you designate... Nest you could leave on all the time but then not get notified constantly while at home; meanwhile when you are out on a random trip you'll get a notification saying there was motion. To achieve this with Kasa you'd have to turn it off then turn it on when you leave. Again, I think a software update to the app will come out and fix this.

Also, it doesn't appear that is linked up to Google home yet (which would make the above issue a little less taxing)... but again, I'm sure it's incoming given all their other stuff is linked.

I first purchased a Philips home security camera - two of them - when they were just coming out and very expensive. The image was terrible and they had no night vision. Generally, they weren't worth the money. It soured me on buying anything new for quite a while.

But when the TP-Link came along with a reasonable price and a familiar quality, I joined their beta program and tried it out. I continue to be amazed by the image quality. I can zoom in (using my iPhone's accessibility zoom) to quite large and eavesdrop on my little, old cat while she investigates things she shouldn't and I can even talk to here although she ignores me. I was in the hospital and had some friends take care of my cat and was able to direct them via the camera and our voices as to where things were and what lights to leave on. I also had to allow a pest-check company have a look while I wasn't there and could not only see everything they did (they were perfectly professional) but also hear everything they said.

For the price, this camera is a find and it can also record based on sensitivity zones small enough to catch my cat climbing into the kitchen cupboards. It's well worth your time if you have such a need.

After spending weeks researching home 1080p security cameras, I decided to give the TP-Link Kasa Cam a try. My decision to do so was helped along by the fact that I am a (very satisfied) user of TP-Link smart Wi-Fi switches and plugs. I really couldn't be happier with the Kasa Cam. It does take a bit of trial-and-error to establish placement, orientation and sensitivity levels (as with any camera of this type). Once that was taken care of, the camera's performance has lived up to everything good that's been said about it in user reviews. I experience few false triggers, few missed triggers, quick response and very short lag times. Low light "reach" and performance in near-total darkness is very good. I highly recommennd the TP-Link Kasa Cam KC120.

I have several TP-Link products already. I was looking to purchase a 1080p camera so when saw that TP-Link had released one i took a look. I compared to similar competitor products and this seems to have all the features I need. Video quality is very good. Audio quality is passable. It is good for monitoring for sound and if you used it to scare someone off (example: if you received an alert for break-in) but i would not attempt to carry on a remote 2-way conversation with someone. Packing and construction of camera are good.Setup is very simple with KASA app and setting up Activity Zones (intrusion detection) is straightforward and very responsive and adjustable and you get a clip on your phone which is downloadable. TP-Link will be offering a cloud storage subscription service or a basic service where you can store a couple of days. I had a problem with downloading the clips which turned out to be a configuration issue that was my fault. But the tech support people were fantastic, responsive and identified the problem very quickly. I would recommend this camera.

Like all of the Kasa products from TP-Link, the Kasa Cam is easy to add to your network when using the Kasa mobile app from your phone. Setup is similar to adding the TP-Link Kasa Smart Plugs. Once setup is complete, the app allows you to see live video so you can position the camera. The camera has an excellent picture with a useful 130 degree wide angle. One oddity is the camera is jet black, but it comes with a bright white power cord. So, I need to pay extra to buy a power cord to match the camera. Makes no sense... The camera is powered by standard Micro USB, so finding a new cord isn't a big deal.

simple camera, works as advertised. When camera is on you get notifications, when camera is off you don't. There isn't a way to have the camera on and recording all the time but then schedule notifications. I'd like to have the camera always recording but then schedule notifications for when I'm not home. It would be even better if it would link to your phone like the nest thermometer and automatically send notifications when it senses your phone is away from home. However, that's not what this camera at this price point does. If you are wanting more types of scheduling features then this isn't the cam for you. I've invested lots in cameras that have eventually failed so I was burnt out on spending a bunch of replacements. I went with this one and have it scheduled to be on or off with my work schedule and then I just have to remember to turn it on if away for the weekend, otherwise my phone will blow up with notifications the whole time I'm home. A big plus is the free cloud storage of recordings. With the scheduling set up like I have it, there is rarely activity for it to record, literally it would only record a break in. So the free storage is plenty of me. Excellent wide view, captures my entire downstairs. Very good quality. Live viewing via the app which I find easy to use. There isn't a website to use, only the app.

The hardware is pretty impressive. Slim profile, good image quality both in daylight and at night. Quite easy to install with the smartphone app. It's a little more sensitive to changes in light than I'd like - e.g., someone turning on a light in another room and what leaks into the room the Kasa Cam is in is often enough to trigger a motion alert. But hopefully that can be refined with software updates.

Like all security devices, there are plenty of false alarms - it's just the nature of the business. What kept me from giving 5 stars is that the app is a bit clumsy for cleaning up these false alarms. Having to click on "More", then "Delete", then "Yes" to confirm for each individual false alarm gets tedious. Would be better to have a place to tick each false event, then hit Delete to eliminate all ticked ones at once (similar to email apps). And for some odd reason, while you can delete the video for a false alarm event, you seemingly can't get rid of the whole event. You will still have text sitting there saying that an event occurred at a certain date and time. Since you may well have 10+ false alarms for every legitimate event, there's lots of unwanted text to wade past.

Again, this is just software, so hopefully the TP-Link folks will make improvements to the app.

I want to love this camera as I already have several of the kasa devices in my home and they all work well. But, there are a few things that TP-Link could improve upon to make this a great camera. I’ve had this camera for 2 weeks now and have been doing a side-by-side comparison with the very popular (and much cheaper) wyze cam. So let’s get into the pros & cons.

Pros:

- Sturdy Construction. Solid metal stand, has some weight to it. Once you set the position, not likely for it to move.
- Starts/saves the recording several seconds before the trigger event
- Good low light vision & night vision. Note I have my camera facing out the front porch window, so the night vision will not work through glass. There’s enough light from the street that this cam can still see, so low light vision is a must in this case.
- Free cloud storage for 2 days (up to 3 cameras and 1GB of video) – may not be enough for some, but you can download any of the recordings to your phone with the press of a button
- Can set multiple activity zones for detection
- 2-way audio works well. Also not much lag in video, maybe 2 seconds or less.
- App interface is easy to navigate. Like I said, I already use other kasa products, so I’m already familiar with the app.

Cons:

- Only 3 levels of sensitivity for motion detection. Low setting is still sensitive enough to detect the movement of the shadows from tree branches. I’m trying to do a work-around by messing with the activity zone placement. Wish I could dial in the sensitivity more, like a 1-10 settings.
- No local storage. Not a deal breaker for me since it does come with free cloud storage, but it’s a nice feature to have.
If you opt for the paid subscription, they charge per camera. If you run more than one cam, this will add up quickly. Other services charge a flat fee for up to a certain number.
- Can’t manually record. Only records when triggered by motion or sound. Probably can’t do it without local storage or paid subscription anyway if they ever add this feature, so this might be a moot point.
- No geo-fencing. The work around is you can schedule when the camera can be on/off. Since I’m trying to use this as an exterior security cam, it’s not an issue as I want to record any outside activity. But for those wanting to use it in the home or in a high traffic area, the geo-fencing feature is a plus.
- Can’t access recordings or camera on desktop. My phone is slow at work sometimes (either poor signal or too many people on the network). So it would be nice if I could use my desktop to check my cams.

I’m on the fence about keeping this camera. I’m hoping the sensitivity setting and other issues can be addressed with a software update.

So let me start off by saying I am not new to visual home protection.

I purchased the nest after much review and because naturally I wanted to continue my products through them since I’ve had nothing but good experiences with our nest learning thermostat as well as our nest protect carbon monoxide/smoke detector. I purchased these so that I was able to see my home remotely. I purchased the Nest first and it was an easy install and was very happy, however, I noticed that the speaker wasn’t as good as I would hope it would be. It sounded muffled and almost as if it’s jumbled but figured oh well it’ll do but for over $450 for the 3 cameras I was kinda bummed. I was also was bummed because I found out I needed to pay for a subscription for the nest aware and so I contacted Nest and was told that I would need to purchase service through them for each camera which would come out to more than what I would pay for Netflix a month and that was for the cheapest plan.

This is how I came across Kasa, I was researching smart plugs since we like to travel occasionally and I like to leave a light on at home. I came across Kasa Products and ordered four smart plugs which I love because of the ease of setting them up and how good the app is. As I was looking I also noticed they offered cameras and saw all the great reviews and figured why not give one of shot to compare both. Let me say the picture looks VERY clear and reviewers were also talking about not having to purchase a subscription for the monitoring which I was ecstatic about. I receive the item plugged it into the electrical outlet did the same thing that I did for the smart plugs to connect it to my WiFi and app and waited for about an hour and a half until the firmware was updated and low and behold the picture came up looking crystal clear. I put it in the same spot as my nest camera and took a snapshot so that you can see the difference in picture quality from both cameras at the same angle. I also used the speaker too and it sounded very clear. It is much more clear than the Nest and is almost as if someone is on speakerphone when talking to them. This is by far the best indoor security camera I have come across. I actually ordered two more to replace the nest and I will be returning that to the store since I just purchased them and they’re under the return policy.

Bottom line, it’s clear and much less Expensive than the nest cam and the nest aware subscription.

Great clarity and microphone. Very sensitive. You will not be able to monitor sound while in the room with the camera like some people have posted. Uh...it’s called feedback!! Basically, your phone is picking up the mic and sending back through the camera in a continuous loop. It’s meant to be monitored away from the camera. So please don’t post that there is something wrong with it.
The night vision is excellent. Movement and sound notification push on the phone is almost instantaneous. Just wish I could have the notification pushed to Alexa. The talkback feature is excellent. This would be a great front door cam with the talk back feature if it were meant for outdoors.

Fosmon WaveLink 51005HOM works great for our two cats! Didn’t need the bracket. Used 3M removable Velcro to attach sensor to wall 8” from floor near litter box pathway. Plugged in receiver in another centrally located room. Now when the vet visits require a “sample” we know who used the litter box. Great being able to choose chime volume and type. Can’t thank these folks enough for creating a really smart unit.

I've only had this unit installed for about a week and it works well. Easy setup and a lot of tunes available but I only use the simple chime. My garage and driveway are at the front of the house and can't easily be seen from inside the house. I mounted the sensor under the roof eave to alert me if there is any activity in the driveway. It works well but I did have a lot of false alarms on a very windy day. I covered a portion of the sensor with electrical tape, repositioned the sensor and did some tree trimming. This seems to have solved the false alarms.

We moved To a new office building where the door opens to the building’s interior so there is no window. After a week of people just coming right in unexpectedly I purchased this motion detector. The detector itself is quite compact so I hid it in a fake plant in the landing. Now whenever someone hits the midpoint if the stairs the receiver makes a lovely little chime almost exactly like a wind chime. Now we know when someone is approaching. We are the only occupied office on that floor so we know whoever it is, is about to come in our door. It ads a huge element of security because the visitor can hear the chime when they are approaching so they know that we know LOL! For the price you can’t beat it.

This motion detector is awesome! I was having trouble with my 8yo and 10yo sneaking down the stairs after bed time and bringing food/candy/drinks into their rooms to rot for me to find a week later. Not to mention when they wanted to sneak downstairs to watch TV, they would stay up All night. So to stop that, I hung the motion detector part at the bottom of the stairs and the plug in side in my room,after the first night, no more trying to go downstairs! Once motion is detected a ding dong sound (like a doorbell) goes off in my room and I know.. They can hear it outside of my room and run back in before I come out! They sleep throughout the night now. Which was the ideal. Although the detector is at the end of the stairs, the range is so good that they can only get to the top-mid way down depending on the size of the person, before the sound goes off. Because the sound can go off in another room and depending on the volume level, they might not even know it goes off. It won't scare or startle them so it's safe to use on the stairs and anywhere else.

We have a gate front porch area and I only open it when necessary. So, consequently our garage doors are our main entry and exit. I was hesitant about leaving a garage door open without being out there when expecting guest because of the obvious. Yes, they could call me when they arrive but that would become annoying. This alarm solved the problem. The alarm is well made and can run on included batteries or USB. The USB will not charge batteries. No problem. I just ran an extension cord to front of garage and mounted transmitter between doors. Anyone coming into garage, car or person, will sound a nice red alert chime. Just kidding. There are 50 chime choices. I plugged the receiver on the other end of the house. Around 45 feet and three walls from transmitter. You can also turn off transmitter when not needed. I have forgotten to lower my garage door upon returning home and could be surprised, but not with this product. It was ready to go right out of the box. I highly recommend it.

 Extremely easy to setup. You just need to plug the ring into electric outlet and attach sensor near the door. It started working immediately. The good thing about the sensor is the ability to adjust the angle so it will cover only the area in front of the door.

LOVE it!!! I have a walk up window at my office and even with bells hanging on the door, I don't hear folks come in. Then I realize that someone is staring at me. I tried a bell on the counter, but they wouldn't use it. I set the sensor on the counter next to the door & the receiver in my office area. PERFECT Solution. LOVE it! No more surprise visitors.

They work perfectly! We have a large retail location. Our showroom is in the front of the building and the warehouse in the back. I placed the receiver in the warehouse and the sensor in the showroom near our entry door. We can hear the bell loudly and clearly. This system works better than more expensive systems we have purchased in the past. The photos shown should give an idea of the distance the signal has to travel...it's quite a distance!

I have retail a store and I put this by the front door facing the wall. It works perfectly. Several levels of volume and many diff tones. I just use the "Ding Dong" sound. I have an office between the showroom and sometimes cant hear customer come in, especially in the nice weather when I have the front door is open. I didn't need to adjust anything, worked right out of the box. I love the fact the receiver can be mounted in another room.

This little sensor has proven to be a great step saver. I have a gallery close to my home, so when I have to go to the house, I turn it on, and boy, does it tell me someone is at the shop! I have it about 200 yards away, so it picks up really well. Was really easy to set up.
