I love Viva chia seeds! The price for this amount of chia seeds is unbeatable. I use them so many ways, they're a great way to get protein and omegas if you eat minimal meat like me.
My favorite ways to eat them:
1/4 c soaked overnight with 1/2 c almond milk and a splash of vanilla to make a delicious pudding that I top with strawberries for breakfast. In winter I add a bit of cinnamon & maple syrup and then soak them and top with apple pieces and walnuts.
Blended with frozen fruit then soaked overnight to make a jam that's great on toast or in yogurt parfaits.
I've even added them to muffin batter with delicious results.
I live with diabetes and now eat these every single morning for breakfast. These are a blood sugar breakfast gamechanger. It averages out to $0.53 per breakfast, and are far easier than making eggs.
My recipe: I mix 1/4 cup of Chia seeds, 1/2 cup of water, a hearty amount of cinnamon, 1-2 tbsp of coconut oil, 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract (zero sugar), and some combination of random toppings (usually frozen raspberries and nuts or sunflower seeds). After about a minute of stirring with a spoon and about a minute sitting, it turns into a pudding-like gel. It can also be made in a batch by quadrupling the recipe.
I shared my diabetes experience here: [...] . Generally I see very little impact on blood sugar. The pudding is filling and also portable for travel.
After writing about this a couple months ago, I've been SHOCKED at the positive response. People love chia seeds for breakfast!
I love the health benefits of these chia seeds. They add volume to my homemade pudding and they keep me full. What I do is take 1 tablespoon of chia seeds 1 scoop of chocolate protein 3/4 cup almond milk a few drops of stevia and blend everything together. Let it sit in the refriderator 4 hours or overnight and it makes a great healthy snack.
Anyone who's been pregnant knows the many challenges you can and will experience with your body. One of these is getting enough fiber to keep the bowels regular. Now, I am a nurse, who knows the importance of eating healthy, and I continued doing so while pregnant, even more so because I increased my fiber, ate more vegetables and fruits, tried Hemp Seeds from Trader Joe's (these also work, but are pricier) I drank even more water than I ever had before (8-10 glasses/day) and it was barely enough. How frustrating! In the tons of research I did, I read Chia seeds were a fantastic addition, not only for the fiber but also for the incredible nutritional content. I was impressed. I was also convinced enough and also frustrated enough that instead of shopping around, I bought my first, super tiny pack in a Home Goods even though it was pricey. Yes, when you're pregnant and you need to get your body going, you will try anything.
Let me just say, they were good, and I was really, really happy with the results Chia seeds gave. I was so happy with my personal results I wanted to have more, but didn't want to repurchase the ones I had before for the previously stated reasons. So what did this pregnant nurse do? I researched some more and ultimately came across these Viva Labs Organic Chia Seeds and I ordered it.
My impression? I am happy. Why? Because these are high quality, organic, the package is releasable, and these are 2 pounds for a great price! I couldn't have asked for more. I will definitely be buying these Viva Labs Chia Seeds again when I run out, because the quantity, quality and price point, I haven't found any where else. I can ultimately say that these keep me regular, are tasty, add a nice crunch, and are truly so incredibly easy to use. I use these in everything I can. I add 1 tablespoon in my oatmeal, I add them to regular cereal, I throw some into my Veggie Shakes, and I've now started adding these to homemade pancakes. They look like poppy seeds, and when you add water to them, they take on a gel-like consistency. Because Chia seeds absorb a ton of water, they are great for keeping you hydrated, as while your body is processing them, they release their water content. I add water to them before adding any other ingredient, if you don't they will absorb whatever fluid you add after and you'll end up with a dry dish. If you want crunch, don't add water prior. As you can see in the picture, i'm already halfway through. Really great product!
I put this in my veggie protein shake and/or tea. After soaking for a few minutes it thickens the beverage. Very high in omega 3 and economical

Suggested Uses: Chia seeds can be used as a binder in virtually any recipe because of its gel-forming ability, or can simply be sprinkled over your favourite smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt and salads. Add 1-2 tablespoons per day to amplify the nutritional integrity of your favourite dishes.
The Viva Naturals Difference: Chia seeds, derived from the purple flowers of the plant Salva hispanica, are sustainably grown in the mineral-rich soil regions of South America. Once the flowers have fully matured, they are thoroughly threshed and cleaned, yielding seeds of exquisite taste and nutritional substance. Viva Naturals selectively chooses prime quality chia seeds, supplying higher concentrations of inflammation-reducing omega-3. Viva Naturals Organic Chia Seeds are sourced directly from farmers in compliance with fair trade practices and are certified organic.
Good product and the price seems right. I soak about a tablespoon of seeds in about a 1/2 cup of water for about 1/2 hour and mix it with orange juice every morning. I don't do this because I enjoy it and while not yucky and not sure I feel the health benefits, from everything I have read the benefits are real.
Perfect for my Chocolate Strawberry Chia Pudding!!! Yummy 😋 😋😋👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
1/3 cup chia seeds
1 1/4 cup almond milk
2 T maple syrup
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup sliced strawberries
2 T chocolate cocoa (I used viva cocoa)
Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl.
Make sure you mix very well because the seeds have a tendency to clump at the bottom.
If you want to make it extra chocolaty, you can add 2 tablespoons cocoa to it.
Store in the fridge for 3 hours to set.
This should last 4-5 days in the fridge. Enjoy!
Been using Chia seeds now for over six months and I really enjoy them in salads - which usually don't fill me up as a meal, but with the seeds I'm very satisfied. I originally started using them because I was having trouble with low blood sugar levels. They seemed to help me without a lot of calories from sugar. Now that I have my levels balanced, I just enjoy the crunchiness and added vegetable protein in my salads:O)
The ingredients listed on the package are simple: Organic Chia Seeds (Salvia hispanica).
As the package states also, Chia seeds do pack a major nutritional punch.
One serving size of a tablespoon (12g) will give you 76 calories, 2g of proteins, 4g of fat (3g polyunsaturated) and 4g of dietary fibers.
I personally bought these to make an edible paste made of almonds, chia seeds, flaxseeds and the pulp of some veggies that I got after juicing. It made for a pretty good mix of very healthy food. Of course you need a food processor.
If you remove the veggie pulp, you will get a very tasty paste to spread on bread or crackers .
You can also mix it with other foods to just add some good amount of fibers to your diet.
I am now on my 2nd bag of Viva Chia Seeds and am very satisfied with the product. I add
them to my smoothies several times weekly. I also use several other Viva products and
would certainly recommend them also.
