Two weeks later and I am thrilled with this product! It is just like the Apple Smart Cover that you can buy at the Apple store and has the same packaging and everything! It stays on when I need it to and doesn’t ever really slip off. I love that it wakes the iPad whe you open the case and puts it to sleep when you close it. This is definitely a smart buy as it is MUCH cheaper than the original Apple Smart Cover but works exactly the same! Very pleased and hope this review helps with your decision to buy this product as I am really pleased I bought it!
Unlike some of the other reviewers here, I did receive the real thing. I have a four year old iPad and bought a cover for it at the Apple store at the time, and I liked it. So when my husband got his own iPad we wanted the same cover for him, and we ordered it here. I have definitely had the experience of fake products being sold here, so I wanted with some trepidation. But when my husband’s cover arrived it is exactly like mine, except for color.
It is held to the edge with magnets and does not cover the back. It has two seams where it rolls up to make a low stand. The inside surface is soft and the outside is rubbery. It turns the device on and off automatically when opened and closed.
If I were rougher on my things I would want a cover the protects all sides. But I don’t carry it outside the house very often. This cover is all I need and is comfortable in use.
Alrighty, that people who have stated that the magnets are weak are people who can't read or just plain don't know what they have. This thing fit my iPad (6th Generation AND my Air) perfectly. The magnets are super strong on the hinge side and sit nice and flush on the right side, which turns off the display.
If you have an iPad Pro, you'll get the weak magnetic experience with the right side lifting up (the magnets are reversed and offset a bit) and this will NOT work well.
Seems to be an genuine Apple product (I'd hope I would know, I did work there for a good amount of time)
I just purchased this cover for my new iPad 6th generation. The midnight blue is beautiful. The fit is perfect. I read some reviews that stated this has some downsides. Here is my opinion:
Some customers expressed how this cover only covers the screen; that it's not protective of the body itself and not at all protective in the event the iPad were to be dropped or to come into contact with objects that could damage it. They are completely accurate! This cover is meant to only cover the screen. If you need protection on your entire iPad, this is not for you. I don't use my iPad outside my home. I don't need a case that would protect it in my bags or in my car. If I were planning to transport my iPad back and forth to school or work, then this cover would be insufficient for my own piece of mind.
Some have said that this cover doesn't serve well as a prop while using their iPad. Mine certainly does! I roll it, with the softer inside panels facing out, then form a 3 sided stand that supports my iPad. Granted, if I want to turn my screen to the portrait view, the cover won't work! But it is great for landscape, which is what I normally use. If I need portrait, I have a wonderful stand that I bought years ago for my iPad 2 from the Levenger company. Not sure if it's still available, but it's made of bamboo; collapsible, and has magnets that hold it together for storage and travel.
I really love the connectivity feature of this cover. It turns my iPad on when I lift it and off when I lower it. Sweet!
The material is very nice. I tend to be sensitive to synthetics or fake leathers. Also, strange smells that normally don't bother others can be life altering for myself. This has neither. It is pleasant to the touch and to the nose!
For the price, I highly recommend this cover as long as you are not looking for "outer armor!" I will update this review as time passes in order to share how well it holds up.

Great for 5th generation. Don't waste your time with the really bulky cases that that make the ipad hard to use.

Originally, I thought I would be getting a complete cover that protects both front and back of the iPad (which is what I had for my previous 3G ipad). But this is more of a clip on cover that, while protecting the screen, leaves the back exposed. I thought, “What? I paid 30 something dollars for this? I might have to send this back.”
However, I really started liking the fact that it was lighter and so much easier to remove than the cover I had before (which, due its snug fit, was a chore to detach). Not only that, but it sits nicely in my hands when I’m using the iPad, unlike my previous cover, which could dig in to my skin. Also, it’s pretty inexpensive compared to full covers, that can cost around $100.
So, if you don’t travel with your iPad, this cover should do the trick. But if you’re worried about your tablet getting scuffed up, this cover will do a good job protecting the screen, but does leave the back exposed (so far I have not had any issues with the back getting scratched up. But then again, I’m careful about how I treat my iPad, which ain’t cheap).
Real iPad cover, my old iPad cover was a real warrior, but after almost 5 years had to replace it. This one is original and ai know it will last another 5.
This cover just pops into place and stays put. It isn’t a case, so it doesn’t cover the back when closed. That works great for me, but if you need hi impact protection, this isn’t it. But I’m very happy with it. It shuts the iPad off when closed. (Just sleep, not all the way off). It folds to prop the iPad up on a table (landscape only) When open, it does cover the camera on the back, so if you do do lots of photos consider that. It is super thin and light but protects the screen.
I love the simple design. I like to be able to hold on to the cover when I’m using it, then close when I close it it immediately turns off. My husband has one that covers front and back and it sometimes doesn’t shut off when he closes it. His is also much heavier. This is light and comfortable in my hands.
I was worried this product would be a fake based on a couple of reviews, but figured I'd take the change - mine is real and it works very nicely. Magnets secure it well to my iPad, and it is durable.
