after getting really bad performance (see the 12.42MB/s in 4K Q32T1 write) and checking with AS SDD Benchmark and other software I download Mini Tool partition software to "align" the SDD partitions. (Apparently this was needed because I cloned my drive instead of doing a "clean" W10 install. This are the after results:
514MB/s read speed and 477 MB/s write speeds for seq Q32T1
181 MB/s read and 300MB/s write for 4K Q8T8
179 MB/s read and 163 MB/s write for 4K Q32T1
20.34 MB/s read and 12.38 MB/s write for 4K Q1T1
Also testing with UserBenchmark Software result that my drive is performing as expected before it was in the 17% lowest percentile. So great improvement.
Have purchased over 60 of these drives in the past year, never had a bad one yet and the price and performance is outstanding. All of them have been a mix of 60/120/240/256/512 models. Great drives and great price.
I bought this for my wife's Lenovo laptop with a core I7-6500U with 8GB of RAM and Windows 10.
The price to performance of this little drive is just amazing.
For a 5 x 1GB diskmark run, the drive averages:
526MB/s read speed and 452.9 MB/s write speeds for seq Q32T1
164 MB/s read and 121MB/s write for 4K Q32T1
440 MB/s read and 275 MB/s write for seq
10.42 MB/s read and 64.8 MB/s write for 4K (definitely a little lower here than say the MX500)
The numbers above are also provided on a drive that is 28% full, so it does get fairly close to advertised speeds. We all know they are always a little exaggerated.
Over the Firecuda drive it replaced, which was a hybrid SSD drive, this thing is noticeable snappier and load windows up 4 times as fast. Lightroom opens at least 4 times as fast as well.
A 3 year warranty provides safety that this thing will last a while, just don't forget to register on their site.
Based on the numbers and the price to performance, looks like I will be buying a second one for my games drive very soon. Who knew that a no name brand (at least for me) would be such a nice purchase.
An affordable SSD with performance that compares to some of the more expensive drives out there. For most people, the performance difference going from one of these to a Samsung, Crucial, or WD drive is negligible, whereas these are currently the most affordable drives on Amazon. The warranty is 3-years if you register, so I highly recommend doing that. With the three-year warranty and SSD reliability and performance, there's no reason to be using harddrives any more. I also have four of the 256GB drives in my server in RAID, and they are fantastic.
Loving the drives so far, I've purchased 6 to date, and not a single one has had any issues. I will update the review in the future, but so long as none of them fail within the 3-year warranty period, my review will remain 5-stars!
This really helped my aging computer get new life. I didn't perform as many detailed tests as a lot of other reviewers have, but I trust that it's performing appropriately. Critically, I was trying to extend the usefulness of my desktop that I'd bought about 4 years ago. In addition to getting a bit long in the tooth, the 2TB HDD was getting full anyway, and a good-sized SSD was just the trick. This one was the least expensive with the best reviews. It installed easily, and there was only a slight glitch getting Windows 10 to recognize it (I had to go into Disk Management to tell it to find the drive). From there, I did a clean install of Windows on the SSD, and voila! It's like having a new computer.

I wasn't entirely sure about this due to the noticeable lack of reviews with regards to Mac usage but I went with it anyways. I'm using this in a late 2011 MacBook Pro 13". So far everything is great. The only thing that took awhile is that I don't think I correctly made a USB boot drive. It didn't seem to acknowledge it when powering on, so it went into internet recovery. Once I got back to installing High Sierra and everything I wanted I tested the boot up time and it went from 57 seconds to 20. I love how quiet this SSD is too compared to the hard drive. Couldn't be happier!
Just a week installation the SP works as I would expect a Crucial or Samsung to work. I am using it as a boot drive in an old Mac Pro 2008 installed on a Sonnet Technologies pci-e sata 3 controller card.
The computer only has Sata 2 interface, which with a rotating drive is about 100-120 MB/s data rate. With this on the Sonnet Card it is giving me 400-450, which is what should be expected from this sort of SSD.
I have bought a couple 250 versions and they are also performing as expected.
I cannot address long term matters. Will have to wait for the long term to get here.<G>
But for now, I intend to buy another one.
This is big bang for the buck. It works as promised. There were no issues. I had it running in 30 mins. Flawless.
Pros:
1. Works as promised.
2. Comes with free Software called ECHO 3. You can download this software from SP website. The key for this is printed on a sticker on the back of the SSD device. People have used it successfully. I have no idea how it is. I used Macrium Reflect to clone. Just wanted to document here that it comes with a free software for cloning.
3. Results are fantastic. I moved from 85/63 to 510/467 MBPS ! Well most most SSDs give that. Just documenting here that it delivered advertised speed. It could give more may be, but I have a small capacity machine.
4. Look and feel is solid. It is of no value anyway.
5. Price point is excellent. I got 512GB for $57. You would get Samsung 256GB for this price as of Jan/2019.
Cons:
None so far. Reliability - I have to wait and watch.
Other thoughts:
1. SSD Management software is available for free download. But my antivirus stopped it saying unsafe. Read on reviews that it contains TROJAN. So I would not recommend it. You can install something free like Crystal Disk Mark but it would not monitor SMART and other things. It is better to be safe than sorry. However I appreciate them offering something for this price range.
2. I had tried Samsung Data Migration and Macrium Reflect earlier on a Samsug EVO SSD 256GB. It never worked, I had to return it. This one was very easy, it was a breeze. And costs 1/2 the money you would pay for Samsung brand. I think Samsung is just brand marketing. There is nothing much.
3. I need 2TB-4TB SSDs for NAS. I would wait for sometime for prices to fall. I would recommend this product.
This is exactly what I needed in an SSD. It's fast, installation was easy, and it works just as expected. I have installed this same type of drive in 2 different desktops now and was able to easily clone the existing Windows installation onto the new drive without any complications. Computer looks and runs just like before with the traditional HDD, only 10 times faster. Awesome.
A 512GB SSD for 90 bucks? Surely it must suck... But it doesn't. I used this in an office build I made for a friend, and had no issues with the install. The boot time was stellar, and the write speed is as advertised. Buy this and give the name brands some competition.
