UGREEN USB Audio Adapter External Stereo Sound Card with 3.5mm Headphone and Microphone Jack for Windows, Mac, Linux, PC, Laptops, Desktops, PS4 (Black)

Wow. you really don't know you need something till you buy it. I bought a new dell 3650. I plugged in my computer speakers which are Logitech Z323 2.1 set ( two satellite and one sub-woofer). When I would turn the volume dial up above 50% I could hear static noise coming from my speakers. At this point I came to conclude, I got a defective Dell. So I exchanged it the next day for the exact same Dell model 3650. Although, even on the newly exchanged PC I noticed the same static noise was still present. I also have a Dell 660s which I tried my speakers on and it works fine. That brought me to figure that there was a defect in the design of the motherboard on the new dell 3650 which is a disappointment. So that's what brought me to buying a UGREEN external sound card. Boy, I must say that I have never heard my speakers sound so great in my life. Even when I have my speakers plugged into my Dell 660s embedded sound card the speakers don't sound as crisp as they do when utilizing the UGREEN external sound card. Not only was the static gone, but the overall quality of sound coming from my speakers was far more superior, period. Now that I have this nice little sound card I don't think I can do without. Even If i buy another computer with Zero Flaws, Id still use this sound card to get that extra rich quality sound this card produces. You will defiantly appreciate this little device. Best part is unlike other external sound cards that have a "stub" design. This one has a short extension design which allows and ensures your not blocking off any other usb ports or plugs in back of your PC while using this sound card. In conclusion, Two thumbs up! Thanks UGREEN!

First - I'm old. I'm frugal. I'm hardheaded.

I have (no giggles here please) an elderly homebuilt desktop 'puter running XP-Pro. It has a very powerful SB! Audio card that is not supported past Win 7.0, so I stick with XP because I have 13,000+ MP3s that I add to the files constantly. I have extensive experience using Audacity, so at least that wasn't a problem for me.

I also play a few musical instruments and I like to record and loop what I play. I also have a Raspberry Pi-3 and a Linux Cinnamon machine and they all come alive with this USB "card" i just bought.

Linux isn't the friendliest system to work with if you wrinkle at writing line code, and the Pi has been somewhat of a mystery to me too. So one can detect a pattern of computer ignorance here, but this UGREEN unit has been a P-N-P dream.

I can simultaneously line-in -- monitor -- record -- loop and add-to previously recorded data. This device has opened several doors for me, and I'm sure I'll find more.

Putting a 3.5 splitter on the UGREEN gives more options with no apparent losses at all. I havent put it on a powered USB hub yet, but I believe it will work just fine.

BTW & FYI: IF you use a microphone that requires 48 VDC to heat the cartridge, you'll have to get your XLR phantom power from a different source. This will Not support condenser style mics since it does NOT have phantom power available.

Most any stomp box or pre-amp or mixer will have phantom power available, so running through one of those options first then going to a 3.5 TRS jack will alleviate that problem

My Nintendo Switch is connected to a monitor through DVI. Normally I plug a 3.5mm cable from the speaker to the Switch’s 3.5mm port to get my sound working and its a little inconvenient doing it whenever I dock my Switch which also makes a lot of static sound in the process.

Since the Switch supports USB audio, this adapter works like charm. The sound is if not the same, better than just plugging to the 3.5mm port from the Switch to the speaker. I’m satisfied so far. I hope its durable enough. For now my rating is a perfect 5/5

I purchased this adapter to bypass the noisy mic input on my ASUS x99 Sabertooth motherboard. After hours of troubleshooting the hiss/background noise on my microphone I stumbled on to a very interesting detail - even with no microphone plugged in to the jack, the noise was audible when "Listen to this device" was checked! This noise was audible on VoIP calls and gaming sessions, and although you could hear my voice over the noise it was a huge distraction.

I was hesitant to purchase this adapter as some others mentioned that it did not have enough gain/power to drive their microphone, but I have not had any issues with mic level. The adapter also utilizes "AGC" or automatic gain control on the microphone input which greatly increases the output volume without any noticeable noise/hiss. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase and wish I would have bought the adapter sooner, instead of spending countless hours troubleshooting with ASUS support.

I recently purchased a gaming headset for my PS4, but the light feature was powered by USB, and had to use an adapter for mic&headphone, but the USB cord is to short to reach my console while headset was plugged into my controller. So I found this adapter so that I may use the light feature and my headset. I am very happy with this adapter, works great with PS4. Will definitely recommend this to other PS4 gamers!!

Worked out of the box on a Raspberry Pi 3B, no issues, no special drivers or configuration (I was using Ubuntu Mate 16.04.02). The cord (versus similar ones that are a hard plastic dongle with no cord) makes it easier to deal with the closeness of the USB ports on the Pi, as you can get the larger adapter portion away from the body. Labels on the two ports are a bit hard to see in dim light but are color coded.

Very nice piece of equipment. We have used other USB audio adapters in the past and had to replace them over time because they broke. This model has a cord so the audio plug ins are not connected directly to the computer and in danger of being bumped and damaged from lack of flexibility. Unit is used to transmit from the main computer to our sound system and cords are in danger of being bumped and moved on a daily basis so the cord has saved us many times. We have had this model longer than any other unit we have used and have had no issues with it.

I got a used Acer CB315 Chromebook for a great price. I bought it to load Linux and test things before putting Linux on machines I cared about. Linux Min 19 works great on the Chromebook, but power management and sound features aren't there yet. As soon as I plugged this into the system, Linux recognized it and I had mono sound in and stereo sound out.

I'm sure I'll get the native sound working someday. Meanwhile, this saved me HOURS on the setup and makes the Chromebook completely usable on Linux Mint.

PC was getting a bit long in the tooth (6+ yr old i5) so I decided to get a new computer. After looking at dozens of options, as well as hundreds of components for building a custom PC, I opted for a 8th gen Hades Canyon NUC. (More than sufficient for the workload I put on a home PC.)

Of course, one of the major issues with a new PC is making sure all my old accessories will work with the new PC otherwise I need to look at buying new accessories. One such item was my speakers.

The old PC had the set of 3.5mm audio jacks that worked great with my 3-piece (PC) speaker system.

Unfortunately the (old) speaker system didn't want to work with the single headphone jack on the front of the new NUC, so I was left with having to find a new set of PC speakers. [Yeah, I know, PC speakers are cheap ... but it took me awhile to find the set I had ... I liked them ... they have a separate base/woofer ... and they have a remote control; so why start over from scratch finding something I'm going to like eh.]

About the time I became resigned to having to buy a set of USB-based speakers I came across the idea of using an adapter (doh!), found this particular item, hit 'add to cart', and have been quite pleased with the quality (especially for the relatively low cost).

I can now use my old/favorite (3.5mm jack) speakers with my new NUC. That works for me!

The standard sound card on my laptop produces a very flat sound. I used to have a Creative Soundblaster X-FI Go which was a little buggy and tricky to set up but when I got it to work right it made a big improvement in sound quality. Unfortunately I recently dropped the laptop on it and broke it. I wasn’t expecting much from the much cheaper Ugreen but I am very pleasantly surprised. I waited 30 seconds for Windows to configure the driver and that was it. The Ugreen worked great right from the start and it sounds equal to or better than the X-Fi Go. The flex-cord USB connection is also nicer to manage than the straight stick I broke. Sorry - I can’t really judge on high volume output. I listen to music in my office at work so I keep the volume pretty low. The Ugreen produces a rich full sound at low volumes with my Logitech 2-1 speakers and subwoofer so it’s perfect for my needs. I am very pleased with this purchase.
