Samsung Xpress M2020W Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer with Simple NFC + WiFi Connectivity, Amazon Dash Replenishment Enabled (SS272H)

Samsung Xpress M2020W Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer with Simple NFC + WiFi Connectivity, Amazon Dash Replenishment Enabled (SS272H)

I love the printer. Does what it says. It's fast and ink is reasonable.cost. Very quick and easy to replace the ink cartridges.

I found the Printer is easy to set up IF you follow the directions. I attached the printer to my laptop and went online to download drivers and then printer wizard took over. You have 3 choices, USB, Media (smart phone) or Wi-Fi. I selected the Wi-Fi set up. Had no problems.

UPDATE:
Having problems with it auto connecting to my Wi-Fi. Keep getting "not connected" Samsung Customer service is great but I have to keep on calling them to fix the problem which happens all the time.

UPDATE: 11/14/2017

*** SAMSUNG HAS FARMED OUT PRINTER HELP TO HP- GOOD LUCK TRYING TO GET AHOLD OF THEM. I'M VERY UPSET. ONCE YOU SAY ITS A SAMSUNG PRINTER YOU CANNOT GET A HUMAN VOICE OR PHONE NUMER TO CALL

I really like this printer. The print quality is excellent and I'm using a generic ink cartridge. The ink cartridge prints about a 1000 pages compared to my desktop printer's 3000-6000 pages. Easy setup. I just connected the USB cord, that is included, to my laptop. It also supports WiFi so I can print directly from my phone using the Samsung app.

The fold-down paper tray is adjustable to print envelopes. Printer controls are on top and light-up. The power cord completely detaches. The printer is 2 inches longer than a sheet of paper and 7 inches tall. It prints 21ppm. It's as quiet as any home laser printer. I regularly use mine in libraries w/o any complaints or negative staring.

I own 4 great laser printers. But having one with me was like carrying a small microwave. Inkjet printers are smaller but they print about 150 pages. If you're lucky they require only 2 inkjet cartridges to print anything, because who looked at the ink cartridges BEFORE buying printer or running out of ink? Plus, laser printing looks so much better than inkjet.

One day, I absolutely needed a 22-page document in an hour. I found out the library has a daily 20-page limit. Literally their printers won't print a document if it counts more than 20 pgs or your library card might exceed the daily limit. Fortunately their staff, because they knew me, made an exception by putting their code in the printer. FedEx Office charges nearly 15 cents per page, provided you find parking and there aren't long lines. So, one of the best decisions I've made was buying this printer.

PROS: Everything! Price, print quality, well-built, easy use, easy setup, lightweight, size, noise-level, mobility, WiFi, Apple/Android/PC compatible, etc.

CONS: No scanner, carrying bag included, color printing, or automatic 2-sided printing. All are easily solvable! Use a mobile scanner app or take a photo. Buy carryon luggage or duffle bag. (I'd rather save the money than get a cheap MSRP bag included). Manually flip the paper to print on the other side. Go to FedEx Office to get far superior color printing. Their color printers cost $15,000+ each. Besides 95% of all printing is black and white.

Note: HP just released their version of this printer. As near as I can tell, the only difference is there's is all-white. And don't forget to carry paper!

This is an amazing printer that fits most (if not all) of my office needs:
1 - It is small (8.5 x 13.1 x 7 inches) enough that you can elegantly put it anywhere.
2 - It is gorgeous looking and at the same time very discreet (unlike those big do-it-all machines no one can miss).
3 - Works silently enough.
4 - Prints 21 ppm (which is quite fast).
5 - Extremely easy to setup... actually I had it running in less that five minutes.
6 - By far the easiest-to-setup wireless printer I've ever seen (if you have an iPad, just get the Samsung Mobile Print app from iTunes and that's it!).
7 - Amazing printing quality. Even the eco mode looks great!!
8 - Installing the toner is easy.

My only HUGE problem with this printer is the price of the toner.
Nowhere I can find it for less than $50. So basically, you are buying a new printer every two toners - which seems to be how those brands make their money nowadays (the printer is cheap, the ink... that's another story - LOL!). The instructions say that one toner lasts for an average of 1000 pages... that is $0,05 per page. Those numbers look horrible to me.

...BUT to be completely honest, those toner prices are in line with all the other models and brands I've seen. So in the end, you should still pick the printer that suits you best.

I would suggest you do some research before buying ANY printer, because what you are getting is a commitment to buy its toners (and that's where your money will systematically be).

RECOMMENDED!!

Considering price point, quality, and ease of use this is a great product. Since I could turn on a computer and work electronics, there hasn't been a piece of technology I despise more than the printer. In high school and college I was always out of paper, too poor for ink, or just didn't have a printer. Ten years ago they were unreliable, had ugly obnoxious printer-specific cords, and buying ink was the difference between printing and not eating for a month. Well hello 2017 & Samsung laser printer (M2020),

It was easy to set up! (Comes with it's own printer software that is more like bloatware) It was hard to find the toner saving printer function, I think I had to gothru a web portal. But beside that it was easy. My phone connected, my computer did too no problem! Not a cable in sight.

It already came with toner, but I bought an off brand here on Amazon for FIFTEEN DOLLARS! I believe the Samsung equivalent is $60? The first page I printed came out super dark but very very nice looking. That's when I went to find the toner saving option that was buried under multiple prompts and caused some confusion. I think they wanted the printer to stay that way for you to use up more ink. Problem solved, pages come out lighter.

Only downside is that it doesn't automatically print on both sides which I was dissapointed about. If you choose double sided it will print 1 page stop then let you feed it back in to print the other side. Pretty easy, not automatic tho.

Thank you Samsung for this great printer!

After years of using a inkjet printer which I was happy with. I just got tired of buying all that ink. The ink got more expensive and refilling it myself was just not worth my time. Saw another Samsung model printer being promoted on one of the technical blogs I frequent. They were sold out. Amazon was also sold out, for the same price. This Samsung model was "suggested" so I checked out the reviews and decided to purchase for the price given! I also purchased the Samsung toner as well. I know, I know...there are off name brands that were offered cheaper. But for my first time I purchased the Samsung toner.
The printer had a toner, setup CD and the USB cord included. The instructions were quite clear and easy to set up.
I have a Apple IPhone 6 Plus and an IPad 2. I also have a Dell very, very old laptop.
I did not plug in the printer to warm it up as instructed. I inserted the CD and followed the step by step instructions. When it came up to go wireless or USB. There was also a step where you could set up with the USB "temporarily and after setup disconnect USB." I chose that one. Followed every step, there was a point where you "Power on-connect USB" etc. and then at the "Finish." I disconnected the USB from my laptop to the printer. I checked if the Samsung was listed under printers on my Dell laptop and it was! I only had to check it as my "default."
Then I checked my IPhone 6+ and there it was after I "searched for printers" and then I printed a test and it worked perfectly! I then checked my IPad2 and again there was the printer! Printed a test page and was successful.
I did not download any app into my IPhone or IPad...there was no need too. The Apples just picked the printer up! And as I said before my Dell did the same.
The printer is very compact and takes no space at all. It also goes to sleep after a time. But I completely turn it off when I am done using it. And the best part is the "Eco-printing" step that you can use before you print so as to save toner. It prints in grayscale!
I was also very satisfied when it prints normally. The black toner works very well.
Some reviews have complained on the cost of the toner. But it is not a game stopper for me,12,000 pages vs 300 in black or grayscale.

I did a lot of research for an inexpensive home/mobile use printer that I could use wirelessly! I'm happy I came across this one. The printing is fast and professional as stated. The included toner will give you about 500-700 pages before you have to go out and buy your own.

Connecting thuan printer to my WiFi router at home! Couldn't have been any easier. It literally took less than 2 minutes. You have the option to connect via your desktop or mobile app. It is SEAMLESS!

We have bought this printer for business use, and has not let us down! We are truly happy with this purchase.

Recently we noticed, Samsung has a similar color printer to this , and that is prob our next buy.

Printing off your phone couldn't be any easier. I have clients come over all the time, and love how easy it is to print off their phones whatever documents they forgot.

Shipping was fast... got here in a day ! You won't regret it....

The good: this printer takes up very little desk space. It has a sleek design and is easy to turn on/off. The software was easy to install and I like that there is a "low toner" option which pops up before printing (the downside of this is a multi-step approval process before any document will actually print).
The bad: This printer feels like it was designed for people to do only occasional printing. The tray will not hold a full ream of paper and every time I restock it, it is hard to get the paper properly seated in the tray. The tray folds up out of the way, which is great if you have limited desk space-- but I personally would rather have a larger and more solid feed tray.
Bottom line-- great for occasional printing. I print a lot and also like to print envelopes and labels; this printer is harder to use for that than others I have had in the past.

I bought this to reduce my ink cost. It is a simple basic laser printer and does that well. The wireless can be a little tricky at times but generally it works very well. On a few occasions I have had trouble with my router, had to replace it at one point and getting the printer back online was a pain. But once it is set up it usually runs well. Occasionally it will power off due to inactivity and I have to power it back on but not a big issue. Have not had to replace the toner cartridge but have one on hand for when I do. Print speed and quality are great, no issues. Does not duplex, but I knew that going in. I can always print one side, reload and print the second side if I wanted to.

Another win for Samsung! My main objective was to get a printer for my sister that would print reliably from Google Cloud Print using a ChromeBook/Box. I originally purchased a Canon 5520 but it did not work well with Google Cloud Print. I think every manufacturer has to take a good hard look at how their product works with the Google Cloud Print and Air Print. The average consumer would have a really hard time getting this feature to work. That said Samsung's printer stays connected and prints reliably from a ChromeBox. It's best to use a regular computer to get it attached to your Google account. This is something Samsung should really work on. ChromeBooks and Boxes are selling like crazy and most of those buyers don't have 30 years of network experience like I do. Many Chromebook buyers don't have a regular computer to use to get this thing connected. Printer manufactures will have to make this process easier. Build a web page where people can go to, put in their Google account info, the printer serial number, and click connect. This most people can do. The process now is too opaque. I've purchased many Samsung printers over the years and will probably stick with the brand. But please make the Cloud printing feature easier and faster.

UPDATE: After about two hours of setup, it seems that I just needed to restart my computer one last time (in addition to the printer) to clear whatever errors were preventing me from printing wirelessly. Will update again if it stops working.

Couldn't get wireless printing to work with this, even after getting on the phone with their tech support. My router is the newest and most popular router available on amazon, and my computer is a MacBook with the latest operating system installed (as of 2/1/2017), so it's not like my hardware is outdated. It seems like the last time they updated the driver for this was 2015, so it looks like Samsung has just stopped supporting this printer. Don't bother with it, it's just a waste of your time and money.
