Good but cheap pork jerky is $1.30 per oz https://www.amazon.com/Golden-Island-Korean-Pork-Pack/dp/B00T3P5TC2/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1499456817&sr=8-3&keywords=pork+jerky
Thats just an analysis for people who are frugal, here's the actual review:
TASTE:
It tastes like very dry unsalted peanuts with a bit of pistachio flavor on it. Some people say it taste really bland after so many days and they are right. It does taste rather tasteless if you eat too much of it. Rather I would think of it as a supplement, similar to protein powder - don't eat it everyday
It doesn't taste disgusting at all, but you'll definitely want to drink water right after since it is dry.
NUTRITION
When we talk about nutrtion, we look at protein (1g = 4 calories), carb (1g = 4 calories), and fat content (1g = 9 calories.
There's 130 calories per serving and 13g of protein (52 calories). That's almost half its content as protein. Which is a lot for a legume/vegetable. If you are doing any form of bulking like I am, this is a lot of protein. So if your vegetarian you cannot go wrong with this
USES OF THIS
This is all the good parts now. This is what I use this snack for:
PREWORKOUT → its suprisingly a good preworkout food. I tried cliff crunchbars but I get really sick of them fast, and they only last about several months anyways before drying out too much.
BULKING CALORIE FILLER → this is excellent food to bulk up, normally I have a hard time planning out a surplus of calories when bulking, but adding this to my macro eating routine makes it easy to get the amount of weight + added I want per day. Usually, I just feel it out
GOING TO SLEEP MIDNIGHT SNACK → This is actually a very good snack for going to sleep with. Its very easy to digest when you break it down, so its not sitting in your stomach the entire time digesting. And since its alot of protein with a mix of carbs, you aren't overloading on complex carbs that take too long to break down
POOPING → Yes I said it. Its a legume (bean) so it has a huge amount of fiber, 8g per serving is a lot. Definitely noticeable and I usually eat this if I don't get enough leafy greens in throughout the day so I don't get constipation
TRAVELLING FOOD → Goes into the pooping part. Normally I would eat raisins which are good travel food as well, just to get a balanced diet since being on road / travel is hard to get balance meals. Its a fairly compact package, you can put it in a bag if you need to to save up on space since its filled with air
TOPPING → Its not a bad salad topper or rice+beans mix actually. Gives it a nice crunch as well to whatever your cooking
also, this is list of how i get all my nonperishable proteins without getting sick of one particular protein too;

I love these tasty, take-anywhere snacks! I feel good eating them because they have no sugar and are high in protein. I keep them handy everywhere--my purse, car, kitchen.
These edamame are so delicious and a much better, healthier snack for you than nuts, crackers or potato chips. This edamame has a good crunch, a little salt but not too much and they're a very good source of protein. The resealable packets are great for tossing in your purse, lunch bag or car.
It is quite easy to live on a vegan diet these days (not that this is a requirement to enjoy these of course), and my girlfriend and I find no lack of tasty things to eat for our meals. These fit the mold perfectly. Dry roasted soy beans with just a hint of salt. They are nutty, have a decent crunch, but not a tooth breaking one, and just taste like a good clean snack. No oily, potato chip kind of feeling when you are done eating them. Additionally, each package has four portions in them, which is the ideal size in my opinion. Especially for me, since i generally only eat one full meal a day, and basically have a small snack every few hours the rest of the day. I keep some in my desk at work and some at home. Anyways, a definite great snack.
Enjoy!
This soybean is a great source for protein. It is lightly salted and has low calories. I pre-measure 1/4 cup and have it with my Greek yogurt and grande skim milk wet cappuccino every day! I bought two boxes to try and will buy two more soon.

These little babies helped me get down to 7% body fat last year. They are tasty, convenient, but most importantly, they have a perfect ratio of macro nutrients for any body builder or general health nut. With 14G of Protein, 10G of Carbs, and 4G of Fat, these little bad boys are chalked full of protein and healthy fats.
I seriously order these on subscription (bring bags to work) and my wife gives them to her clients as gifts (she's a personal trainer).
I got these earlier today...lightning fast shipping but that is another topic entirely - this is the first time I have ever had these and my first bag did not last long - by the end of the day it was gone. I am hooked and addicted! I am working on healthier choices and this is just simply super because while you are crunching away you know it is healthy .... you are getting that satisfaction of crunching away here and there, at the same time knowing it is healthy and good for you. Pop corn, chips, and crackers - you can't touch this.
This snack is very healthy and tastes good, very neutral taste. I keep them at work to snack on throughout the day.
I had bought a bag of these before as a different snack to eat while I studied.
They are certainly crunchy.
They are salted too.
I'm not sure they have as much taste as peanut, but I'm not sure how much flavor can be expected from dry roasted edamame.
That being said, they are definitely edible.
I liked how I got a whole case of them which helps out on the price of each bag.
They are also in re-sealable bags which is useful.
Crunchy, salted, and good for snacking.
Really great snack to have at your desk throughout the day. A few handfuls can be surprisingly filling. If you're looking for a healthy snack alternative to keep you away from the chips and sweets, go for this. And this price? Cheapest I've found in the store is $2.50 a bag. This pack is an insane deal.
