TP-Link AC1200 Smart WiFi Router - 5GHz Gigabit Dual Band MU-MIMO Wireless Internet Router, Long Range Coverage by 4 Antennas(Archer A6)

This router has been above expectations. Since the price was very low, I thought it would be a simple one. This baby is very powerful. I have about 10 different devices connected to it and the wifi problem I had before has been solved at once. Streaming problem is in the past now.

I used this router to replace an aging Linksys G router. Let me tell you, the difference is night and day, even to my older devices that only use the B side of the network. The router was easy to install and configure to my specifications. I have already recommended it it a few friends who are having some issues with the quality of their Wi-Fi network. Definitely worth what I paid for it and more!

Works very well on our 2 mbit rural wireless broadband. Outstanding rage. I get full strength signal from the house to a camper which is about 100 yards away and obstructed by several tress. Can even stream Netflix. Great product.

I have had it for 2 months now with zero problems. Every other router that I have owned needed to be reset every once in a while but this one is still going strong! I haven't touched it since I turned it on.

I'd recommend it to anyone that's interested

I replaced another router that was giving me trouble with this and I have to say I'm VERY happy with this one.

Being the "computer guy" that everyone knows I end up setting up a LOT of routers for friends and family, so I've seen a lot of UI's. Many more recent ones that I've run into try to be so user friendly that you basically can't setup anything complex on them - just turn it on, set an SSID and password, and the unit won't do much more. On the other hand while I often use DD-WRT or Gargoyle firmware on my own routers, many average users would have trouble with those.

This unit however strikes the perfect balance. When you connect it steps you through a very straightforward "wizard" to get all your configuration done, and when you're finished there are "Basic" and "Advanced" tabs with all the settings on there. It's not quite as advanced as DD-WRT or the like, but still everything I wanted to do (port forwarding, dynamic DNS, etc) was available.

Plus, speaking of dynamic DNS, TPLink provides a service for their users where you can sign up and register a DNS name on their servers rather than using a commercial service.

That UI combined with great WIFI signal has me very happy with this. Plus as is obvious for most people, the wired LAN portion of this is Gigabit, so communication between my desktops close to the router is quite speedy.

Description

AC1200 Wireless Router, Gigabit, Dual Band, Beamforming, MU-MIMO, Access Point Mode.

2 days and so far it's solid, no hiccups to speak of yet. Excellent signal reach and hasn't dropped signal, install was as simple as you can make it, took 1 minute. This replaced a D-link that dropped several times a week and would often squelch speed.

I have been very happy with this router. It was easy to set up and has worked very well for the 6 or 8 weeks that we have had it. The range is good and provides good signal strength throughout our house. I would recommend this router, especially for the price/performance.

I already had TP-Link's power line extender, but we had an old, outdated wireless router of another brand name and our two Mac desktop computers and my iPad were not loading pages even though they indicated that they were connected to the internet. Since TP-Link's tech people were so helpful setting up my power line extender, I decided to buy one of their routers thinking that an up-to-date router would probably solve my problems. I was intimidated about hooking it up though - I expected to have to spend a lot of time trying to figure out settings on my computer to make it work, and that I'd have problems. I couldn't have been more mistaken. I called their tech people to walk me through the process. It was basically this:
Disconnect the modem ethernet cable from the old router.
Connect the ethernet cable to the new TP-Link router in the socket labeled "Internet"
Disconnect the computer ethernet cable from the old router.
Connect the ethernet cable to the new TP-Link router in one of the four numbered sockets for devices.
Plug the power supply from the TP-Link router into the power strip, and plug it into the router.
Open the browser on the computer, and it worked perfectly
I was able to get all my devices working properly with virtually no effort at all.
Why did I wait weeks to spend a lousy $59.98 for this wonderful device?

Works as advertised, good powerful router. Use it for internet, Amazon Prime, Netflix and Roku. We are not gamers, so do not know how it would work for that. If you you want a good overall router for a good price, this seems to be it.

Had old router, worked fine except it was sloooow. This router hooked up super easy with their mobile app, set up my network ID and password quickly, set device specific blackout periods (for the kiddos), and finally get every MBPS I pay for wirelessly! Had 7 devices using it and still got 60mbps down/10mbps upload! And I got it about 28 hours after ordering it on Saturday morning!
