ProCase MacBook Pro 13 Case 2018 2017 2016 Release A1989 A1706 A1708, Hard Case Shell Cover and Keyboard Skin Cover for Apple MacBook Pro 13 Inch with/Without Touch Bar and Touch ID –Black

I should have read the reviews more carefully because this was noted, but there is not back corner protection. While the lack of protection is not a big problem, it becomes a problem because the case does not stay on... at all. The computer is just resting on it. Will likely return.

Edit: I am an idiot and did not put it on properly.

It's a nice, matte case-- just what I was looking for. It does retain fingerprints and other marks really easily, so be prepared to wipe it a lot. This case iS NOT PROTECTIVE, it's just to keep your laptop from getting scratches and nicks! So if you're looking for a heavy impact, shock absorbing laptop armor, this is not for you! This case is very lightweight and slim (so slim that I was afraid it would be broken when it came as the packaging was literally just shrink wrap).

The case was easy to put on (be careful though, you don't want to scratch your laptop), and the keyboard cover is nice. Others have said that the keyboard cover has made typing harder, but personally I think it made it easier because 1. it made the keys a little thicker/ higher from the laptop, and 2. it's added a little grip to the keys (I have dry and smooth hands so they don't have much grip, everything just slips)! It has actually stayed in place pretty well (adheres nicely; I included a picture of it sticking to the paper instructions. Don't worry, it sticks like a plastic window decoration, NOT like a sticker).

Also, some pictures may look like the laptop case is wet; it is. I got annoyed of the smudges on the inside of the case, so I tried to wash it off with soap.

Heads up: the case does NOT cover the back hinges. I ordered knowing that because I wanted to still be able to open my macbook all the way back! Also, the "Procase" logo is not raised; it's just painted on so I feel like it'll end up rubbing off or something.

UPDATE 06/04/18: The case hasn't broken yet, and I pretty much just slip my laptop into my backpack's lightly padded laptop compartment so it's held up pretty well! However, because I don't usually use a laptop sleeve, any small debris will settle in the tiny gaps between the case and the laptop. Make sure to take the case off (carefully, so as to not damage the case or the laptop) every few months to wipe out the case, because the debris buildup could scratch the laptop.

I am so pleased with this case! I just recently purchased a new Mac Pro and I wanted to make sure it was protected ASAP. I did a lot of research on Amazon and this seemed like the best choice and I was right! The case fit the laptop like a glove and it looks so sleek! The case at the Apple Store couldn't compare to this case and it was $50! I much prefer this case because it doesn't add any bulk to the laptop! It also doesn't feel like hard plastic but has a rubbery texture which I like. I also love the keyboard cover! I find it helps me grip better when I'm typing and of course I like the fact that it'll keep my keyboard clean. I understand that this isn't a heavy duty case that'll protect my laptop from being dropped or such but I'm glad to know that it won't be carelessly scratch or niched. Overall I recommend this case to everyone!

It fit perfect I love it I'm thinking about getting another one in a different color I'm very happy with the product

Really great cover!!! My BF purchased for me a new 13" MacBook Pro with the touch-bar for Valentines. I couldn't get a cover then because the Pro Retina cases hadn't been manufactured as my laptop was too new. A month later I was able to purchase one from the Apple store in Scottsdale and the only product available was by Encase. So I immediately grabbed one to protect my MacBook, as I was traveling. I bought that in April and by July it had already cracked. I took it to Apple and was refunded the $60+ I paid. I am just telling you this story to illustrate the difference in product quality. This hard case shell cover, (I purchased the transparent, as my MacBook has that new brownish coppery hue and I didn't want to hide with a solid colored case) is of superb quality, very well made for what it is, especially for $20! The top and bottom pieces snap securely and fit very snug so they don't move plus it looks really great! It even comes with a silicone keyboard protector - which I thought I wasn't going to use - but after only using it for 1 week and realizing how dusty it gets I am keeping it on for sure so that my keys don't get as dirty! Tech Vendor who I purchased it from, provided a great service, as I received my cover posthaste. Highly recommended case as it fits my MacBook like a glove and has the correct side openings for the 4 ports (2 on each side). LOVE IT!

Ultimately choose this over the others that had more reviews and glad I did. Fits better than I initially thought when I started to put it on - fits tight and gently snaps on with the small clips on the top to catch the lid of the MBP. Lightweight, doesn't add any unnecessary bulk, yet thick enough to protect the laptop from general scratches and daily use. Doesn't force the lid closed like other cases - tested it to 1" open and it remained in place. I typically don't care for the keyboard protectors, but this one fits really well and adds the coarse rubberized feel which can help with the inadvertent key press on the new butterfly keyboard some have mentioned. The rear corners of the MBP are not covered by the case, but it would be difficult for any manufacturer as the lid overlaps the bottom when opened. Ordered the black to compliment the space gray w/out touchbar; looks as good as it fits. Shipping was a bit slow, came in about a week later than I expected, but overall pleased with the case.

Got this case to protect my my 13" 2017 MacBook Pro from getting scratched or dinged. I liked the nebula image to jazz it up. As others have described, the image is not as bright as the product photo and is also slightly dulled by the matte rubber coating on the case... but the rubber coating helps grip, these slick aluminum computers slip right out of my hands so that was more important for me than a shinier image and slippery case. The case is thin and lightweight and snaps tightly on with slight difficulty as it's snug, just follow the included instructions. I have no idea yet how this will hold up, but the point is for the case to get dinged and scraped rather than the device, so whatever. For the price it is everything I expected. I haven't used the keyboard cover yet. Note from my photos that the back bottom corners are not covered, I think because the way the hinge of the display needs room to move. This is the only downside to me as it leaves them unprotected, but I don't think any other case can do it differently because such tight tolerances.

UPDATE (2/1/2019): Its been over a year and I'm still using this same case. I tossed the keyboard cover because it was pretty terrible and useless. Some of the plastic tabs that snap onto the laptop have broken off probably around the one year mark. Surprisingly though, the case is still holding on to the laptop and I haven't noticed any real difference from this. Also, the 4 white plastic pads on the bottom of the case lasted less than a year before peeling and falling off. Once one of these pads peel off, your laptop WILL NOT sit centered on a flat surface - it will wobble. If i remember correctly (Make sure you check before purchasing this!), this case came with some extra plastic pads. I think for most people, the plastic pads will be the first thing to go (and the most annoying).

Original Review (9/17/2017):
The clear pink case is darker than the stock image that shows it to be a pale baby pink. Instead, its almost a dark, magenta-y pink, but it is still clear and the apple logo can be seen visibly through the case. The case itself is thinly coated with a "rubbery" material, which gives it a soft and smooth feel. However, because of this, any grease and oils you may have on your hands will easily show but I was able to wipe off some of it with rubbing alcohol (YMMV). The case fit my macbook pro 13 (2017; A1708) perfectly and definitely read the directions on how to get it on. It uses little plastic tabs to snap into place and because of this, it's a little difficult to get off, requiring some prying and pulling, but surprisingly it didn't damage my laptop. It leaves ample space for the ports on both sides, but because of this design, it does leave the back corners exposed. Overall, i'm happy with the case for the price, but i docked a star for the terrible keyboard cover: it doesn't align with my keys and fits loosely on them. So when using the back-light on the keyboard, its pretty obvious that they do not line up.

I really like this case for my 2017 MacBook Pro w/Touch Bar. It is a perfect fit and I love the added protection. It came with very clear instructions on how to install properly. It went on flawlessly and does not seem as if it will damage the laptop whenever (or if) I need to remove it. I do not mind the back corners are out - in fact, I can't imagine how this case would even work if it were structured any differently? Best of all, the design and color is so unobtrusive that it does not detract at all from the sleek and beautiful look of the actual device, nor does it add too much weight or any bulk. The keyboard cover, I could do without; mine was just a cheap layer of thin clear plastic, it doesn't even have the letters embossed on it... but it fits perfect too and it was thrown in for free, so whatever. Enthusiastically recommended!

The case itself fits really nicely on my 2017 13-inch MacBook pro without Touch Bar (Model number A1708, which can be found on the bottom of the laptop). The case is slim, easy to install, and fits snugly.

The one problem is that the silicone keyboard cover does not cover the top row of the keyboard (with the F-keys). The first picture in the listing shows a keyboard cover without the top row, but if you scroll down to the pictures in the product description, there is a picture of a keyboard cover WITH the top row. I don't know if this means the manufacturer actually makes two different keyboard covers (maybe the keyboard cover WITHOUT the top row is meant for the MacBook pro WITH the Touch Bar, and the one WITH the top row is meant for the model WITHOUT the Touch Bar). The problem is that there is no way to choose which keyboard cover you want. I don't know if the Touch Bar would even work with a keyboard cover that has the top row. This is a problem.

Other than that, the cover is just what I was hoping for: a thin, secure layer of protection for my new laptop!
