Pioneer AVH-1300NEX Multimedia DVD Receiver with 6.2" WVGA Display/Apple CarPlay/Built-in Bluetooth/SiriusXM-Ready/AppRadio Mode +

Pioneer AVH-1300NEX Multimedia DVD Receiver with 6.2

I have this unit installed in my 2009 Toyota Yaris and I absolutely love it. The screen is very responsive and the display is bright so there are no issues with visibility during the day. I like being able to customize the illumination color and background. So far, I have had no issues with it and I highly recommend it.

Great inexpensive way to add CarPlay to your vehicle. Uses a double DIN installation. I used Scosche CR1291B Double DIN Installation Dash Kit for Select 2007-Up Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Vehicles to install in my Jeep Wrangler JK. The upgrade even makes the speakers sound better.

The included wired microphone works great with Siri.

This is a really good unit. Does everything I would like a unit to do. I installed it and was surprised since I first turned it on, the touch, feel of the screen. How responsive the unit is, I like the Apple car play feature. I can use my map for navigation, play music through it and answer my call/text hands free. I can ask Siri anything, I can also send/receive WhatsApp messages. On Spotify I can select all my playlist, song, artist on the screen. I can choose all my searches titles/albums as well. I can also hook multiple devices at the same time. I can listen to music on my iphone/iPod and receive calls/messages on another iPhone. I like all the power the unit has, bass boost, and all the audio settings. I can select different backgrounds colors and designs. This unit is a really versatile and could not be happier. I am already saving up for another unit for my 2nd car. Also, one thing I really like is that if I am playing music on the unit and stop at gas station/store and when I get back in the car the music will play instantly where it left of and without me doing anything.

Very happy with this unit. Purchased a Kenwood DDX574BH 6 months ago and had nothing but trouble with it, ended up returning it when the screen went completely blank and replaced it with this. Biggest complaint with the Kenwood was the glare on the screen in bright light, so bad I couldn’t see the screen from the drivers seat most of the time, this unit is much better and I haven’t had any trouble viewing it. Nice simple layout on the screen and lots of options for personalizing. Do yourself a favor and order the $14 MicroBypass switch so you can use all functions while not in Park. I thought I could just ground the parking brake wire like I did with the Kenwood unit, wrong, DVD etc. will not work without it. Installed in my 2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab, I used 3/8” spacers behind the mounts to pull the unit and dash kit forward into the opening further, made for a much better, more aesthetically appealing fit.

I was looking to upgrade the radio in my wife’s car and add a backup camera. She uses Spotify a lot off of her iPhone when she drives so I was looking to get Apple CarPlay. The unit is very easy to use and gets the job done. I am also pleased with the backup camera integration into the unit. For the price i am very pleased.

Description

Pioneer NEX or networked entertainment experience line of receivers feature an innovative and powerful new user interface which is responsive and highly customizable. The NEX models are designed especially for today's smart phone driven lifestyle. The AVH-1300NEX features Apple carplay, the smarter, safer and more fun way to use your iPhone in the car. Apple carplay gives iPhone users an incredibly intuitive way to make calls, use maps, listen to music, and access messages with just a word or a touch.

This made my stock Bose system in my 2012 Nissan Altima coupe sound like a whole new system. It actually blew my mind when i heard the difference. Bass is insane, and head unit gives you a lot of control over the EQ settings and Bass Boost.

Screen is very responsive, and Apple Carplay works incredibly well. For the price, you cant beat this head unit. I really like that there is a "Siri" button on the bottom left of the unit, easy access to change songs, navigate, or call someone.

Overall, this new radio made me feel like my car is brand new again, I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking to get an aftermarket radio with Carplay.

We got carplay in our new VW and I realized just how amazing it was. So I decided I needed it in my Miata as well. I bought this headunit, and have been incredibly happy. I routed the lightning cable down through the center console and into armrest compartment, so I plug my phone in and stick it in there, and control everything from the HU.

The microphone seems relatively cheap, but I've made calls doing ~40 on a main thoroughfare in town here, and folks I'm talking to say that the audio is clear enough to have a conversation (which is saying a lot in a car like mine on a road like that).

Siri is able to hear me enough to change music, even at highway speeds, and having google maps built right into my dash is unbeatable.

My only complaint about this is the lack of removable faceplate, but I don't feel that it's enough to dock a star for.

Great product. I have installed it in my F-250 mainly to be used as rear camera. It works really well. IMPORTANT: It requires an adaptor to bypass the parking brake. If you don't have it, you won't be able to setup your phone. Check this carefully before buy. I bought it and I had to order this bypass

Absolutely love this unit. There are minor flaws but overall it's very seamless. I use the Apple CarPlay everyday and it's awesome.

The EQ is incredible and really allowed me to fine tune everything, I still tweet with it every now and then.

You have to hook up the green Parking Brake wire in order for the bluetooth to work, I just ordered the bypass off Amazon.

Installed in a 2007 4Runner, SR5, nothing fancy. Overall I'm really happy with this radio for the price($175 Dec 17).

Pros: Touchscreen is responsive. Sound is better than the stock radio (clear, more powerful). Backup camera input works well. Remote steering control also works with adapter kit. Good FM reception. Aux & USB work well. I don't get the annoying warning screen I see others complain about. I did put in the parking bypass though. Haven't tried the DVD yet, but honestly I didn't buy it for that. I bought this model incase I wanted to use one of those phone holders that go into the CD/DVD slot.

Cons: The layout of the buttons are not ideal. The mute button is too close to the volume button. When I drive over bumps in the road, my finger might move up/down and miss what I'm aiming for. Horizontal button layout would be better, or just use steering wheel controls if you have them. The only other issue is the Bluetooth autoconnect. I like to use my remote start, When I do, and when I get to the car, the Bluetooth won't connect after several retries. I have to go into the Bluetooth menu and connect manually. Not a huge issue, but I rather not take my phone out of my winter jacket to do this.
