This is an excellent, easy to set up, and small printer. I sell on ebay and Etsy and use this for packing slips and shipping labels so the fact that it prints only black wasn't an issue. Printing from the phone is easy, but not a big deal to me. But what I really like about the printer is you can register with Google Cloud Print allowing you to print from any pc or phone from anywhere, even thousands of miles away. I do not understand why some reviews mention a difficult set up or not being able to print from their computer. This was by far the easiest wireless set up I've ever done (previous wireless printers were all Canon). I used HP's Android app to initially set up the printer, and I downloaded the Windows driver software from HP, installed it, and my computer had no problem recognizing the printer and printing to it. And my computer isn't a new one.....a 5 year old Toshiba laptop running Windows 8.1. I did not use any CD that came with the printer...I think it's quicker and easier to just download from HP. The computer does come with a USB cable to connect physically with a computer. Also, if you don't have a wireless router you can still connect wirelessly using Wi-Fi Direct (I haven't tried that yet). After I bought this, but before I received it, I read an online review from some tech website which was overall a very good review, the only flaw they saw was that "the text was a little too light and pale". That made be a little nervous because of all the dark black in the shipping labels I print, but I cannot tell the difference between these and ones I used to print on an inkjet. My reason for buying this was to save on ink cartridges; I was going through at least 1 black cartridge a month at $28 each. I thought about the Epsons with refillable ink tanks, but I didn't like some things about those models, so I decided to go with this. The toner cartridge yields 1,000 pages vs 300 pages for a Canon 240XL ink cartridge, AND the HP toner can be bought online for only $5 more than I was paying for the Canon ink.
I am just setting this up and it prints well, but I wanted to warn you of HP's shoddy installation process. First, it has you use an app on your phone to set it up. You open the app, then you connect to the printer's wifi network. Then you connect to your wifi. At this point the app said my printer installation failed. Nice. I closed the app and reopened it and it saw the printer and everything was working fine. Then it says you have send yourself an invitation via email or text to be able to print from another device (like your computer). I ignored this and searched for the printer using the printer setting dialog on my computer (iMac). It found my printer just fine and printed without a problem. You do NOT need to download any HP software on your computer. HP needs to really make this easier and error free.
So far so good. It is fast and prints only black which is what I wanted. It’s small and takes up very little space. I wish Amazon would check the reviews because one review of this product said it printed color. Plus the description did not really point out it was wireless. I’m not surprised because a lot of product details aren’t complete or misleading. But still I would recommend this nice laser printer that is wireless and prints only black.
I bought this printer a week or so after it was released from HP and took a chance. I couldn't be happier with the printer, after using it for several months! I bought this one specifically because I have my printer in one of my kitchen cabinets (couldn't find a better spot for it) and this little thing fits perfectly and the Wi-fi connection is flawless.
It's black and white only, of course, but the print speed is great, the toner isn't ridiculously expensive, and it's quiet and convenient. Set up is incredibly easy over WPS (push button) or through and HTTP page through the printer's own wifi card. Just read the instructions and it all makes sense. Using HP Printer service plugin on my android phone, I can also print right from my phone over the network. I guess I wouldn't buy it as an office printer because it seems designed for light duty, but perfect for home.
I bought this to replace my ink based printer for cost reasons I don't typically print in color just standard b&w documents for work or school. my old printer was a photo quality epson with ink and like almost all color printers wouldn't work unless all cartridges were installed which for my needs made my old printer useless... the toner cartridge for this printer is tiny and I may add an update on its lifespan based on my print load which toner for this printer is just below $50 but it beats buying 6 ink cartridges and only using 1 or 2 and having the others expire.
another bonus my house is small and I have 2 toddlers who like to push buttons. my old printer had to be put on it's own table due to its size and the kids kept turning it off and on and pulling the paper tray out. this later printer fits perfectly on my kitchen counter the slot of the paper folds down and adjusts to multiple paper sizes and the buttons are discreet enough that they don't draw the unwarranted touch of a toddler

Perfect for a simple home printer. My kids constantly ask me to print pictures for them to color, or I have to print black and white documents. It does the job! And it was soooo easy to set up.
Just to say that I love the white and smaller footprint in my "bedroom" office, but more importantly, the set-up was efficient and without a glitch, in about ten minutes. I used my HP Stream laptop with Windows 10 and the HP Smart app easily downloaded. Prompts were user-friendly . . . that is, the interface designers "thought" like my ordinary user mind thinks.HP LaserJet Pro M15w Wireless Laser Printer (W2G51A)
I’ve used HP LaserJets for over 30 years, and have never had a bad experience. Yes, they aren’t as “solid” today as the LaserJet II of its day, but they cost a small fraction of the price at the time (over $1000), but for most people, today’s LaserJet is solid enough to do the job.
This is by far the most compact HP (or any other brand) laser printer I’ve come across, yet it does everything I need, and produces excellent print quality which to the naked eye is undistinguishable from any other quality laser printer.
On a related note, I’ve had no issues using third party toner cartridges in earlier LaserJets, and expect to use them for this printer. HP toner is grossly overpriced.
Highly recommended.
The set-up for this was very easy.
The print quality is quite good.
The small footprint is excellent, and the fact that its white and therefore not a glowering piece of black plastic is nice.
For small jobs, this is a good printer.
HOWEVER
For large jobs, this thing is a pain. Because it's a small printer, it can only handle about 30 pages until you have to unload the top. If you don't, the papers fall into the paper feed, feed through again, and jam. And this printer will not take "I cleared the jam" for an answer, so you have to turn it off, in some cases unplug it, plug it back in again, re-establish the wifi connection, re-enter the command--
If I have to print ten pages, this printer will do it. A 567 page manuscript? You'll have to babysit it the whole time.
I tried several times to set up this printer using the app; but, ultimately, I ended up downloading the driver from the website. That option worked beautifully, and I was able to use my app to connect and print easily once my computer was set up. I have an apple phone, and downloading the app was easy. I would agree with other reviewers that using the app for set-up was arduous and unnecessary. Otherwise no complaints - prints clearly and quickly.
