With so many smart devices out there, it’s tough to figure out which products are actually useful, and can improve the quality of life, vs those that are a waste of money. This product by far is an absolute must, and I’ll attempt to explain.
Prior to installing this device I had been experiencing significant temperature differences in my 2story single AC unit home. Days where hot upstairs where the thermostat was located, so the unit ran constantly to keep it cool, while the downstairs was very cold. At night the inverse would happen and the downstairs was very hot and muggy while the upstairs remained cool. I later found out that my ducts where set to send most of the air to the upper level for obvious daytime cooling.
When I installed the sensors I immediately had the ability to adjust the daily schedule to perfection. The sensors and Nest allow you to pick which sensor/temp drive the ac cooling, which was amazing. What nailed it for me was the added ability to control the fan in-between cooling cycles. This feature allowed air to be circulated throughout the home, which helped to balance the temperature from the upper to the bottom level, taking a 3-5 degree difference, down to 0-1 degree throughout the day. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate this product and love my Nest even that much more. Hope this review help other families out there save some money and enjoy their home that much more!
Order placed on 2/23 and arrived on 2/6. It was scheduled to arrived between 3/1 and 3/8. I added these to my existing set up to monitor additional areas in my home. Opened the Nest app, and set up took about 2 minutes for each sensor. I like how I can easily monitor temperatures throughout the house, and tailor an occupied room to a comfortable setting.
Love that concept. I wish it measured humidity for each room too. But still great.
Great product my thermostat is located in the hallway where no one hangs out so now with this product I can adjust heat or cooling to the actual locations we are
I learned about these from a friend and can't imagine why Nest doesn't advertise these more aggressively. It's great to be able to use a sensor away from the thermostat.

I love these things! Love always being able to monitor temperature in every room I have these in.
Some parts of our house are not used or used by guests occasionally. I think these sensors should have reusable labels or a place for the users to annotate the room/location. Maybe it's just me, but the instructions were tooooooo easy and focused on the installation, so the implementation was left to the inexperienced user. It was late and I was trying to get it done, so I didn't think about mixing them up. I'll put them in the fridge one at at a time to sort it out :) with my iPhone app. (Wait a sec...here, hold my beer...)
Bought an apartment where the Nest thermostat was mounted near the washer/dryer. Poor vent placement makes different parts of the apartment very different temperatures. These remote thermostats and the ability to schedule which thermostat is dominate at different times of the day allowed me much greater control over my heating and cooling.
Identifies the temperature discrepancy between the main thermostat and the sensor. Providing an option to choose the sensor to reference that approximates the desired comfort setting.
Easy to use and helped get the temperature right across the house
