This is the first time that I have purchased Kirkland walnuts. Actually, it is the fist time I have ever purchased walnuts online. I have always purchased walnuts in the grocery store but because of increasing prices, I decided to shop around and that included looking online. I saw the Kirkland brand of walnuts and actually the this price was not that bad for a 3 lbs bag. I do a lot of baking with nuts, especially in the fall and during the holidays and I buy walnuts in bulk and put them in my deep freezer when I find a decent price on them so that I have them on hand when I need them. I purchased these walnuts over a month ago , knowing I would be using them for my fall baking. I just started using them a couple weeks ago in apple cakes and other baking items and I am impressed with the size of most of these walnut pieces. There are some scattered small pieces in the bag, but that is to be expected but there are more larger pieces than small pieces. I usually chop them up anyway for most of my recipes. I was worried about the taste before ordering them because sometimes you just never know when ordering online but these walnuts taste as fresh as any I've ever bought from a grocery store.
I wish these walnuts would have come in a resealable bag since I would not normally use all the walnuts at once. I have ended up taking them out of the bag and dividing them up in smaller amounts in freezer bags, which wasn't that much of an inconvenince since I do the same thing when I purchase them in larger amounts from the grocery store too.
I will say that if i don't find a sale on walnuts in my local grocery store, I will be purchasing the Kirkland brand walnuts again.
These are so good! Raw, uncooked, unsalted, amazing bits of heaven.
I am changing my diet and trying to add nuts and other different things, but I don't really like salted nuts, and I'm supposed to be lowering my sodium intake anyway.
These taste amazing. Out of the whole 3lb bag I only had one piece that didn't taste good, which is bound to happen with nuts occasionally.
DO Keep these in the fridge after you open them unless you are using them all at once or they will grow mold and become inedible (the package says to keep them there in an airtight container). I kept mine in the original bag, pressed the air out after each use and use a chip clip. They kept fresh for the couple weeks I had them. Not sure how long they will last that way other than at least 2 weeks.
I will be ordering these again and again. They have become a staple of my diet. Full of benefits for your body. :)
I have read some of the bad reviews and grateful that the negative claims have not come true for me yet and I have ordered these three times so far. The taste is good and the price can not be beat in any grocery store where I live. These are snack size pieces of nuts that I love to eat or mix into yogurt or cereal. If you want to cook then you will have some work making them smaller. You are also going to want to put these into a zip loc once you open the less than great bag they come in.
When I was looking for offers on bulk quantity of walnut, I came across this option. I got the introductory offer by Kirkland, which costed me $10.95 for a 3 pound bag of walnuts. I received the parcel way earlier than the anticipated time, thank you so much Amazon and also Kirkland. This is my first review and what made me to write the review is the very fact that the walnuts are so fresh and crispy. Just makes me feel like they taste just as fresh as the ones I get back home.

Very happy with purchase! Walnuts are good quality and fresh. Can’t ask for more then that! I’d never bought this brand so wasn’t sure what to expect. Very pleasantly surprised at the size and freshness of these walnuts

Great quality, most all are complete full pieces, hardly broken pieces at all! Very tasty! Had them since before Xmas and it's now 3 months later and have not gone rancid at all, and I don't keep in the fridge as recommended. Never have done that and I live in AZ and my nuts have never gone rancid at all, any variety. But this is a very high quality product.
Excellent product. Fresh taste and nice large pieces, mostly halves. Absolutely fabulous price if you break it down to what you would have to pay per pound at the grocery store. We used them in oatmeal, coffeecake, muffins, on top of cereal and yogurt. Fantastic. Will order more soon!
Several years ago I was tired of buying grocery store walnuts that consisted most of broken pieces and were expensive to boot. Now I purchase three pounds of Kirkland walnuts two to three times per year and am always please with the quality and the fact that small pieces are rare.
I don't Kirkland's secret but I have never gotten a rancid batch of walnuts from them. This large bag of mostly halves are fresh and tasty, and I enjoy having them in my breakfast cereal. We also use them in salads, and for just plain snacking. These I recommend.
There's far too much walnut "dust" in the bag. Maybe some of that is inevitable from getting moved slightly while shipping, but I feel like 20% of the bag is just dust.
