Product description says the fruit is kosher, dairy free and gluten free. The ingredient list does warn that the fruit is processed in a factory with nuts and wheat, though. I ordered this basket 02/19 and the expiration date on the fruit pack was 09/19. Plenty of time if you're planning to give it as a gift later or if you're saving it for a special occasion.
I gave this to our Swiss Air BnB host as a thank you. She absolutely loved it. The tray is large and the dried fruit is well packed. It comes with *a lot* of fruit. More than most people would probably eat, but it gives the basket a nice, colorful presentation. The fruit didn't shift out of place during the initial trip to my house, during the flights overseas, while we pulled our suitcases down the bumpy, cobblestone streets of Zurich and Luzern, or up and down the bumpy, gravel/dirt hilly roads of Wengen. It all stayed in place which really surprised me. The only "complaint" I have is that the basket didn't come with any information other than the ingredient list. A printed list of what fruits came in the pack or instructions/a description of the product placed inside along with the basket would've been nice. I wrote my own handwritten list of the fruits and mentioned the different ways the basket could be used. I definitely plan to buy the pear shaped basket as a gift as well. So glad I found this.

Bought it for my Step Mom for Mom's Day - she loved it but didn't want to unwrap it because she thought it was so pretty! I have sent this item as gifts twice. Both recipients loved the fruit and the remaining wooden basket to use later. I tasted the fruit at one home and saw the basket in 3-D, holding fresh fruit. I highly recommend this as a gift.

This is a very unique product. I purchased thisgift for a friend and she said the fruit was arranged so beautiful, the fruit is fresh,and very tasty. The fruit bowl that the tray turns into is just like the picture. I will be ordering more!

I send the dried fruit basket for all kinds of reasons--get well (given the cost of cards the fruit basket is a good buy), birthdays (you can't eat flowers), and other events. Works for nearly everyone in the house except the pets. I have received appreciative thanks. The dried fruit has concentrated flavor and along with the natural sugar of fruits, a concentrated vitamin content.
