I have non-insulin dependent Diabetes and a terrible sweet tooth. Unfortunately, all the "sweeteners" I have tried either tasted terrible, had uncomfortable side effects, or weren't all that good for you. I didn't like saccharin or aspertame. Stevia tastes bitter to me. The things I have had with Sucralose taste fine, but I was concerned with the possibility of it raising my blood sugar/insulin levels and I am leery of the use of chlorine to make it. I have had funny/embarrassing experiences with some other sugar substitutes. So I just went back to using sugar in light moderation when my sweet tooth got the best of me. Then I found Swerve! I am really impressed by the taste and my spouse thought it was sugar, although made mention that the brown has a slight vanilla taste. Not bad, mind you, but it might be something to consider if vanilla is called for in a recipe. I haven't yet used it in baking, but I've used it with making Thai inspired recipes with great success. When I tasted it from the bag, I noticed a very slight cooling effect in my mouth. This did not appear in the finished recipes we ate. It measures, looks, and packs like brown sugar. I am looking forward to trying this in baked products and trying the other versions of Swerve. I am really happy with the product. My goal is to continue to lose weight and diminish my reliance on medication, and I think this product will be useful in reaching my goal. I appreciate the convenience it affords in preparing recipes that require sugar. Now I can prepare things for friends and family that we can enjoy together. So far no one has noticed the difference.
I've been waiting for this to be released. I took my blood glucose before I mixed a little bit in with some cream cheese. I then dipped my strawberries in the mixture. Oh it was so delicious. I would never have guessed it was not full of sugar. I waited one hour and took my blood glucose again and had only went up 3 points which were from eating the strawberries. The flavor was wonderful. It felt a little bit different than regular brown sugar...maybe a tiny bit dryer. I will be baking with it next to see how it performs. I am so thankful they finally released the brown 'sugar' version.
Delicious!!!! Wrapped some green beans with bacon and sprinkled with this on top and baked it. It was so good it tasted just like brown sugar even better!
This was recommended by one of the "low Carb" bloggers that I follow. Anyone who cooks and bakes a lot knows that it is hard to replace the flavor of brown sugar in recipes, which made replicating some recipes in a low carb format very difficult. Swerve Brown Sweetener has fixed that problem, this sweeten tastes like the real thing. It even has the moisture content that gives it the same texture. While I am doing "hard core" Low Carb eating, I avoid baking and snack foods, even in their low carb version (I consider it a gateway to craving carbs and sugar) But I was creating a full Low Carb Thanksgiving feast, and decided that I would make a special low carb dessert that included this ingredient. The dessert was delicious and in addition to that, I used the Swerve Brown Sweetener to create a glaze for the carrots that tasted as good as a full sugar version. This product will always be a part of my Low Carb pantry now.
I really like the new swerve brown sugar. Can’t tell the difference in it and the real stuff. Great for Keto and low carb folks. No after taste.

Description
The secret to Swerve's zero-calorie sweetness is a combination of erythritol and oligosaccharides. Erythritol is made by fermenting glucose with Moniliella pollinis, a natural microorganism, similar to fermentation processes that occur in breweries. Erythritol also naturally occurs in many fruits and vegetables like melons, grapes and asparagus, and the FDA classifies it as a zero-calorie, 4-carbon sugar alcohol that does not affect blood glucose. Oligosaccharides are sweet, non-digestible carbohydrates sourced from select fruits and starchy root vegetables. Oligosaccharides are prebiotic fibers, so they're not only tasty, but they can help multiply beneficial gut bacteria. Swerve sources the highest quality raw materials available. All Swerve ingredients originate from the United States and Europe, with no ingredients from China. Likewise, companies based in the United States produce all of Swerve's packaging and packaging components. Cup-for-cup, Swerve replaces sugar in all of your
I love the brown sugar one! I've been making crusts out of almond flour, butter, and brown swerve. It's so good!!!!
I had to give up coldbrew when I went back to lowcarb as I could only drink it with some brown sugar. I tried sukrin gold but it was just not good like that. Mind you Sukrin's great for baking stuff. I just didn't like it in coffee. I recently saw swerve had a brown version and hesitantly got a pkg to try. Oh wow. I get coffee back!! I used half swerve confectioners (powdered) and half swerve brown as the sweetener (and either half&half, or heavy cream+vanilla almond milk) and a little cocoa and it's great! Very happy now. :-)
Love SWERVE! For making treats and sweets without using cane sugar. Great for people on Keto, Diabetics, limited sugar diets, or anyone who enjoys an occasional cookie but doesn't want to spike their insulin levels. Swerve products taste wonderful, no after taste, and great in homemade sugar free ice cream, cookies and cakes.
I was skeptical how this would taste with so many other products having awful aftertastes but, hate to sound cliche but this was amazing! I used this swerve brown sugar in some 4 ingredient peanut butter chocolate chip cookies today. Now, I have heard about some digestive problems so I will update this if that occurs as today was my first day but I am hopeful!
This is the best substitute for brown sugar I've ever tasted! I love it so much I can eat it by the spoonfuls with no aftertaste just like cane brown sugar. It tastes 99.9% like regular brown sugar but soooo much better for you! I used it in my sweet potato casserole this Thanksgiving and everyone kept raving how good it was and they had no idea I had used the white granulated Swerve in the sweet potatoes and the brown in the streusel. It's a win, win situation! I definitely would recommend it!
