Oh, dear, too good. I bought these to have on hand when my adult son visited, as cashews have long been a family favorite. Then his trip had to be rescheduled. They probably would have kept in the pantry, but they kept calling my name-- I swear I could hear them! A handful here, a handful there, and then poof! they had evaporated in the can-- I have no idea where they went! A wonderful snack if you're young and still gloriously impervious to calories, but dangerous stuff for the matronly set who doesn't need that kind of delicious temptation so readily available. ;D
This has to be one of my favorite snacks. I really got used to cashews during my time as a produce clerk at a local grocery store. We had bulk nuts in the department and one of my joys was filling the whole cashews. That oily, salty cashew smell really hits the sweet spot with me. After ordering and receiving this jar of cashews I took it into work to share with my fellow coworkers and we finished the container in one sitting. Probably not the smartest thing for me to bring this in but everyone enjoyed the quality of these cashews and they asked when I was bringing more in. At this price it will be later than sooner but I am already wishing I had more right now.

Originally I bought this to make my own vegan cashew-based sauces, but I didn't get the chance. All of the household's idle munching exhausted the entire 18.25oz canister in a few days. I avoid ultra-processed food, so finding adequate snacks can be a challenge. To fill this gap I have started keeping nuts in the pantry, because they're quick, convenient and minimally processed. These cashews are delicious and really hit the spot.
We do love the Cashews - just right.
However, these are not what I Call WHOLE cashews.
I don't mind the bits and pieces, but when one pays for WHOLE Cashews there should not be so many pieces.
I included these as a gift to my nut loving father. Dad had been previously diagnosed with a medical condition & told by the doctor he had at the time that he couldn't eat any nuts, so for years he avoided them. Then Dad was reassessed by a brand new doctor who told my father to go right ahead & eat all of the nuts that he want's to. Needless to say my father was very happy with this news! I gave him these planters nuts in celebration. They are delicious fresh cashew nuts as is expected with Planters.

Cashews are one of my favorite nuts and unfortunately everyone else in my house likes them too. These Whole Cashews by Planters are delicious. I like that they used sea salt. We usually buy the 8.5 ounce can and someone always ends up unhappy. So I saw that this 18.25 ounce can is on subscribe and save and decided to subscribe. I'm very happy that I did, now there are enough cashews to go around and I still have some left to use in my cooking. These make a great snack on their own and satisfy salty cravings when they come on.
Oh, these are so good! I had these on my subscribe and save just to keep my hubby in a supply of cashews! Nice and salty and fresh and a great size, they come with not only the plastic lid but a vacuum seal you have to peal off which you know has sealed in freshness as well. We like to not only just sit and eat these but put them on salads, or a sundae, I've put them on chicken in the crockpot, etc. I can put cashews on anything!
Maybe it sounds odd, maybe not--but we commonly eat nuts for dinner once a week or so--mixed nuts, pistachios, peanuts, etc. Cashews are a favorite, and in this large 18.25 oz. size from AMAZON, they are very reasonably priced. Much less than in the grocery stores, which typically stock only the smaller size cans. So we have this on our monthly Subscribe & Save delivery, which saves us another 15% off.
These are not salted so I use them for cooking. Sometimes I grab a handful of these and a handful of raisins and snack on that but, most of the time, I use them for cooking. I grew up with maranon trees in my backyard so I got really fresh cashews, as in pluck the fruit, take the seed, throw in the roaster and pick the smoky-heavenly-deliciousness-of-freshly-roasted-cashews-out-of-from-the-ashes so....I won't say these are fresh but they're good fresh compared to everything else on the store. I'm satisfied.
The halves and pieces work well in baking, candy making and cooking when using more expensive whole nuts is unnecessary. The contents of the can I received were very fresh. And although I usually buy lightly salted nuts, I simply reduced the amount of salt called for in the recipe to avoid excess salt..
I have had mixed, sometimes disappointing results with other brands. These are reasonably priced, fresh tasting and the quality is consistent. When a little crunch is needed these are excellent added to granola, sprinkled over salads, stirred into yogurt and as a good topping for rice and grain (for example, quinoa) dishes, and cashew chicken. Always good to have on hand, .. .
