I love this little gadget. I connected it to my whole house audio system input source and now I can play Pandora throughout my house from my smart phone.
Note: It is recommended that you also purchase a smart power switcher with this product. Because, your phone will still pair with this device even when your sound system is turned off. So, if your phone rings and it is still paired to this Logitech Adapter, you will not hear any sound out of your phone. To fix this I purchased an ELK-912B Power Relay and connected it to the trigger-out on my whole house audio system. I also recommended to the manufacture that they have this trigger function built-in so there is no need to purchase a separate device.
This unit has RCA holes...that means instead of hooking up a cd player or tape deck...you hook this up to the back of your receiver...then pair it to your phone's music player and Jam!...I had a thousand dollars worth of old gear in the garage and it wasn't being used...this works great...hope this helps some old school folks that don't know you can do this...sounds so much better than most of the crappy little wireless speakers the kids are buying..
I purchased this in hopes of connecting my home stereo to my Echo Dot using Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the Logitech receiver (and many other Bluetooth receivers as it turns out) doesn't work well with the Echo because they feature an auto-reconnect function that tries to re-establish a connection when it is "lost". Connecting it too the Echo was straight-forward and the sound quality was much better than a cheap receiver I tried before. However, when I told Alexa to disconnect and switch back to the hard-wired connection, she obeyed and her voice immediately switched to the hard-wired speakers. However, a few seconds later I hear a beep and the Logitech receiver reconnected to the Echo via Bluetooth and the Echo no longer used my hard-wired connection. No matter what I did I could not disable this auto-reconnect and the Echo always switched back to Bluetooth. The only solution I've found is to disconnect power to the Logitech receiver when not using it. So over all, it seems to be a nice Bluetooth receiver but didn't meet my needs and I don't recommend it for use with the Amazon Echo Dot and I would assume the original Echo too.
Yay, now I can stream audio on my stereo amp that I bought about a month before WiFi/Bluetooth amps came out on the market.
Does what it says it does.
Only downside, which can be managed with some electrical tape is the cabling I use weighs more than this little module. So it's already I had a fixable issue with it being drug off the top of my receiver a couple times.
A 5V USB type power connector would have been a better option than a wall wart and a barrel plug for it's power, but oh well. I'm happy with it.
Some have scoffed at the subtle glow it constantly gives off on the base. Like I said, "Subtle", it's not a distracting blue LED like some of the other items I've owned which resulted in having to put tape over the light or using a Sharpee to slightly mute the vibrancy. It's no more distracting than the illumination coming from the clock on my cable box.
Tape is the answer to most of life's problems.
I had been using a Harmon Kardon Onyx Studio for a bluetooth speaker until it died on me. Needing a new ride for garage tunes and not wanting to drop $200.00 on another BT speaker, I bought this unit. I had literally thousands of dollars worth of audio gear lavishing my my basement because it had become obsolete. I hooked this unit up to my Kenwood amp with my old infinity subwoofer and front speakers and WOW!! With all of these modern bluetooth and computer speakers that had replaced my old gear, I forgot how powerful the old equipment is and how good it sounds! I fell in love with my old equipment all over again! I have read a lot of negative reviews on this unit about how it auto-connects and causes all kinds of problems for the user. I have not experienced problems with this because of the way I use this unit.
I plugged the Bluetooth adapter's power supply into the switched outlet of my stereo amp. When you power up the stereo, the BT adapter powers up with the amp. When you power down the amp, the BT adapter shuts down with it. No problems. This unit was well worth $24.00 to bring my old Kenwood back to life. If you want to bring old gear back to life, look no further than this unit. It works great!!!

I have an older Bose wave radio/CD player. Awesome sound, late 90s early 2000s tech. I tried a different Bluetooth adapter a couple of years ago but the sound quality lacked and the connections temperamental.
The quality of sound through this Logitech adapter to the Bose is phenomenal. It has excellent range, too, and connects to all of our phones and tablets flawlessly (Samsung, Fire tabs, Moto, and ZTE).
The size and shape of this unit is nice as well. Other than the bright blue light it emits, it's unobtrusive. It can be easily tucked out of sight. Having the RCA plugs from the unit also makes the connection stronger. Male-to-male aux plugs tend to degrade over time. I believe this will last a long time.
A couple of things would improve it, IMO. The blue indicator light should be smaller so it doesn't cast so much light. Also, it should have an off button. After purchasing, I read reviews of folks complaining about it being a Bluetooth "hog." I haven't experienced that, but to be safe, I added a switch to the power cable and thus negated any warranty, I'm sure. That was a preemptive measure, possibly unnecessary, but Logitech should have had an off button anyway.
I'm being slightly nit-picky; this really is an excellent adapter! I'll probably get another as a gift because I'm so pleased with it.
I've had this adapter for some time now and used it for connecting my phone to a non-bluetooth audio system to play Pandora. It works perfectly. Recently like another reviewer suggested, I am using it in my car, connected through my car radio's aux plug. One paired to the phone, it pairs automatically as soon as it powers up. I power the unit from a typical 12v dc to 5v usb lighter adaper. I use a usb to 1.7mm cable also from amazon (Onite 2 PCS Electronics USB / DC Plugs & Adapters Power Cables (USB to 4.0x1.7mm). All is very well and I am very pleased.
I bought this a year ago, just set up with Bose AM5 speakers I bought almost 10 years ago, I'm quite blown away by the sound of my new sound setup, connection was instant with this tiny little device with extremely big sound. I studied sound and work in audio for a living, and I can tell you this device is very good, the stereo image is very apparent and clear, playing MP3 music from my phone gives some pretty good sound, I can't wait to try lossless with this!
This is a brilliant product, that installed quickly and was as close to "plug and play" as it gets. Bought the adapter to solve the problem of hooking up an older stereo receiver and speakers to bluetooth, in order to stream music. Several years ago, had bought an Apple Airport Express to solve the same problem (by wifi, not bluetooth), but that was cumbersome to set up and never worked reliably. This adapter was set up in 5-10 minutes, and connected easily to devices by bluetooth. Sound quality is excellent (you wouldn't know it is a bluetooth connection). Highly recommended!
After trying two other products (AmazonBasics Bluetooth 4.0 Audio Receiver(ok,need line of sight and cuts out after 25ft) & HomeSpot NFC-Enabled Bluetooth Audio Receiver for Sound System(It's bad, cuts out if you are 20ft and need line of sight ) First off, this product @ $21 is MUCH better than the other two. It can safely stream line of sight or not for 25ft(line of sight cut outs started happening beyond 25ft). I had no problems with cut outs going around the bend in other rooms on the same floor as long as it was within the magically 25ft range. The sound quality was unbelievable. It was like I was wired in. Great highs lows and mid range. Now the bad part.; You will have to disconnect the device after you are finished streaming music because if you don't you will get no sound(text alerts, message recordings, etc) from your iphone iOS 9.35 device because it is sending it to the receiver. It did not go near the 50ft range it said it would go. It's not low power(no big deal for me). It's bluetooth 3 which might be the reason why it is better than the other two. If I would have gotten a better range it would have been 5 stars. Cheers !!!
