This is a great product and is very similar to the strain used by many breweries across the USA. I believe it is the same as the Chico strain from Sierra Nevada Brewing. This is a great all purpose yeast for many different styles (IPA, Stout, Imperial Stout, Barleywine, Pale Ale, etc). This yeast is very reliable over multiple cake re-uses and is capable of reaching a maximum of about 12.5% ABV (depending on a number of factors). I highly recommend this yeast.
I was nervous about ordering my yeast online but since I was a package short and didn't have time to get to the store before brew day I figured I would give it a shot. No problems, yeast did it's job perfectly.
Living in Florida where it stays warm, this is the ideal yeast to use. With a temperature range of 59-75 degrees, great value!
One of my favorite go to yeasts. You don't HAVE to re-hydrate it before pitching, but it certainly does help.
Made a delicious hard cider using this yeast and fermenting for a few weeks. The yeast ate through most of the sugar by the end of the second week. Very good strain.

A nice forgiving yeast that I have used for a Kolsch style and also an Apple/Light Malt project as well.
I've harvested the yeast a few times after running a batch and have been able to use it 3 times so far with no issues.
Definitely recommend!
(Search youtube for yeast harvesting/washing for those who are not familiar with it.)
