AmazonBasics Universal Phone Mount Holder for Bikes

AmazonBasics Universal Phone Mount Holder for Bikes

solid and sturdy than the one I have on my motorcycle. But the holder wasn't tightened to the joint socket when I received it. I have to take it apart and reassemble the screw, not a big deal and easy to fix

Excelente producto, justo lo que necesitas, cumple con su funcionamiento y además que es muy sencillo de instalar. Material de calidad.

Easy to install

Great product. Came timely and it is sturdy to handle a bumpy ride and keep my phone secure.

I don't own a bicycle, so I did not get this for bike riding. I got it because I use bike mounts when grocery shopping to hold the phone in front of me. It's a pain to have the phone in one hand and try to scroll through and check off your item list (I use Google Shopping List) while shopping. So this bike mount is perfect to hold the phone on the shopping cart handle and leaves both hands free.

I have been using another bike mount until I got this Amazon one. The Amazon mount fits the wider-handle shopping carts that my grocery store uses better than the other one. So the AmazonBasics is a keeper. I get comments sometimes about what a clever idea it is -- and so the next lucky person in the grocery store that makes a comment gets the bike mount I was using before. :-)

Description

An Amazon Brand

This mount stands out for its heavy duty versatile clamp. I use similar clamps in boating and once attached they can withstand the heaviest seas. I expect the clamp will have no problems when correctly fitted to your bike handle bars.

The clamp attaches to the phone holder via a fairly standard plastic ball mount. This should be fine though it should be checked every time you ride. These plastic ball mounts, while generally reliable, are usually the failure point unless reinforced with metal parts.

The actual hard plastic phone holder is okay though I find the four rubber corner bands tight and somewhat difficult to fit over my iPhone 6s. The 6s is not an especially large phone. I'd be concerned one or more might fail if attached to the larger iPhone X, Xs Max or similar devices. The entire device just feels a bit small for these. Spring loaded side clamps which you manually pull open provide adequate clamping force to hold my phone. This combination of rubber bands and side clamps provides a very tight grip.

I don't do serious mountain biking. I ride primarily on normal roads and some off road non-rugged paths. For me this mount should work well. I'd comparison shop for mounts with more secure phone holding capabilities if I do serious mountain biking. Especially so if I had a large smart phone.

First of all, attachment to bike handlebars is extremely secure with an easy turn thumbpiece. However, if you have an Otterbox Defender protecting your phone, it barely fits. A bare phone fits without any problem. With a Samsung S5 and the Defender, the sliding, spring loaded side clamps would not securely hold the phone because the gripping part is not deep enough to fully rise to the top of the perimeter edge of the Otterbox. Fortunately what allows this holder to be used with an Otterbox, are the four elastic straps which wrap each corner of the device. With the Otterbox, it is an extremely tight fit (but will go around the 4 corners). You have to really stretch them to get them into place. Once done, however, the phone is very secure in the cradle and your bike can be ridden aggressively without the worry of the phone popping out. You can also rotate the ball holder that connects the back of the phone to the clamp bracket, in any direction or angle desired, for optimum viewing if looking at the screen while riding (although not many screens can be seen outdoors on smartphones). But the flexibility or screen/phone orientation is there if desired. I can see this being more functional in the gym while working out if the equipment you are on, has tubing somewhere that does not exceed the diameter of the clamp, which is quite wide for use and capable of going down to fairly small diameters.

This would be a 5 Star product, without reservation, if they had extended the side arms a bit deeper to fully seat the depth of a phone with an Otterbox, and given just a bit more slack in the rubber straps on the corners, although that is not as critical as the depth of the side rails.

I got this for my Dad. He rides thousands of miles on his bikes. He says sometimes its easier using the GPS on his phone than his Garmin watch. This is a holder for mounting a smartphone to the handlebars of a bike or motorcycle It has an easy mounting system so that no tools are needed. It's made of a premium hard plastic (PA/PC). There is a anti-slip stretchable rubber band that offers impressive strength and stretchability. It is compatible with smartphones up to 3.5 inches wide. It fits handlebars with a diameter of 0.7 - 1.3 inches. The 360-degree rotation allows for creating an optimal viewing angle.

This is such a quality phone mount holder for bicycles. It truly is premium and well made. My iphone securely fits in this and is held very well. Even when i ride fast and hit bumps, it will make sure that your phone does not fly out and stays in put. It is very easy to set up and attach to you bike too. Enjoy.

I'm elderly and ride a recumbent bike. I also wear Phonak brand hearing aids. The hearing aid comes with a receive/microphone that is worn around the neck. When I get a call I just tal and I'm heard and when the person on the other end of the line speaks thier voices goes directly into my ears through the hearing aid. Consequently, I don't have to install it on my bike. I can keep it in my pocket. However, upon inspection, I would take an educated guess that it'r not at all difficult to mount on any number of bikes.

Buy with confidence.
