I purchased this to run game servers on for a small community. I made a few upgrades such as adding the enterprise component for the Idrac 6 and swapping out the raid controller with an H700 to support SSD's. The unit's packaging was frustratingly well put together. I have never seen a company take so much care in shipping a piece of hardware like this! Great all around, components are "used" but look new. I have not ran a mem test or any electrical tests on the boards, I will likely just purchase new ram for this unit anyway.
Thank you for making such a great deal available!
I got this to host game servers or really anything else that comes up. My current server was just a retired gaming PC with a first gen i7 bloomfield. It's still fine but I had it trying to do too many things. 1 of which was host 2 instances of Atlas. Got this blade in yesterday and setup was painless. Windows 10 Pro x64 installed with no issues outside of Dell firmware complaining about the non-dell sata drive im using (it works just fine - it just complains about a fault cause its not Dell...). Currently running 4 grids of Atlas and averging 25% CPU Usage and 20% ram. Amazing machine at a bargain price! The only real downside is the size and noise but its an enterprise server (I keep it in my basement. So long as you are a room away, its fine)... just know what you are buying :-)
Great punch for the price.
Pro: idrac was Enterprise. Ram was 1333 (all but two sticks seem to be ECC). Included raid card.
Con: System was obvious Frankenstein creation of parts from other servers. Idrac, bios, and lifecycle controller all had to be manually updated and reconfigured. Lifecycle in particular was a pain. Would have been amazing if it shipped updated.
Note you probably want to buy rails, drive hangers, and a second power supply in addition to hdds (or ssds).
Server came just as advertised and is running in my home lab right now. Loaded ESXI 6.5 on a thumb drive and put it in the internal slot, works like a champ.
For the price I shouldn't complain. I ordered two at once, Already had 2 from Tech Mike with the lower speed processors. I was surprised and how fast the 3.33 processors made the fans go but that's not this vendors issue. However, I will have to contact the vendor about over heating on one of the two. They are rack mounted in a 75%F room and with in seconds of throwing a full load on it, one of the servers started thermal throttling the other is fine, thus my 1 out of 2 comment. Also I was surprised they didn't have any drive bay covers. The add does say it doesn't come with a hard drive so I can't fault them there, but the appearance was bit of a shock. The previous ones I orderd from another vendor did have the covers. I've just threw 24 java threads at each of the servers and will let let them run overnight and if anything changes, I'll update this post. After contacting the vendor they recommended I check to see if the heat sink had come loose during shipping. I had, so I locked the heat sink back in place and its purring like a kitten.

Had issue with fans, seller sent new set next day,, great guy , will buy again.
I'm a computer science student, figured having a personal server would beat paying out to have a company host things for me. Was a lot louder than I was expecting, but hey, it's not meant to be stored under your bed. Works perfect with Ubuntu, the remote access (iDRAC) for monitoring and turning off/on without going to it is a plus, and after getting a hard drive (with a caddy!!!), hooked it up, included an external SSD, and away I went. No hick-ups, no failures (even when my power went out from a wind storm, I had set up the "in case of ___ do ___" with other preventative measures).
TL;DR - Runs great, perfect for small/medium server hosting and processing needs. Just remember to buy drive caddies for your drives!
My first foray into the homelab world, this server is a beast. Arrived well packaged and clean. Mine included two power supplies and iDRAC6 enterprise. Loaded esxi 6.7 and Windows Server 2019 no problem. Note that this server is quite loud, likely due to the 3.3GHz hex cores. Not complaining, just be aware.
I got cheap server, with 24 core processors. It works fine, I got it within 3 days (free shipping).
A great server in perfect condition, ideal for virtualization.
Always a great service from TechMikeNY
