Look, I do not know high, lows, mid range or anything of that. I’m just a regular guy who bought a boat and wanted to upgrade his speakers. So after 2 months of googling “best marine speakers” and reading reviews I decided on these. Installed them today and what a difference! Even with the old clarion deck powering them! I know when speakers sound good or bad. So if you’re looking for an average joe option these are awesome! Even at high volume. I’m ordering another pair for the bow right after I write this review.
Also they look amazing! Install took me about 10 min.
great price.... the sound quality is okay..... i have been thru a few sets of the over the years. these usually last me around 1 year, but i play my music as loud as possible and these get salt water splashed on them at least twice a month all year long.. i say its a perfect speaker for the price point and the abuse i put them thru. if you want hi fidelity clear sounds, maybe you should listen to your home stereo. if you want to fish in the salt water and blast Pantera on #11 these are for you.
These are pretty Darn good for the price, actually would have paid a little more. The first set has lasted through 2 seasons so far, decided to add more with this purchase... There seems to be a lot of questions about cutting a hole in the fiberglass. We used a 5" regular hole saw, used masking tape on the fiberglass, and it was a perfect hole, no problems.... I did have to hand sand the hole to make it fit, but it's perfect. I don't think we would have been happy making the hole any bigger. You just have to spend a tiny bit of time sanding the hole to make them fit. Great bass, and sound... Very happy, and we are picky.....
Perform great! Very nice speakers when paired with my Fusion RA-55. Cranks plenty loud when sitting on the water. Can't hear it a whole lot when going full throttle, but you rarely can with any boat setup. No amp hooked up in my Grady-White. Good range and nice lows - surprisingly full sound. Large magnet on the back, and a nice construction. I was thinking about dropping the extra money on the Fusion 6.5" speakers, but I am very satisfied with these for the money. Can't speak to how well they hold up when exposed to the elements yet.
I have eight (8) speakers this size in my motor yacht. The speakers are powered by an Alpine 50W, four (4) channel amplifier. Because the power from 4 channels must be shared with 8 speakers, the amp. is only pushing 25Watts to each speaker. Since these Kenwoods 50Watt speakers, I was worried that there wouldn't be enough power to let the Kenwoods sing. Fortunately, they are singing just fine. I haven't even tried anything near full volume; they're that loud and clear. Not only do these Kenwoods sound excellent, but they look great. They appear very rugged and durable.
The only flaw is that the face plate must be aligned with the screw holes. This means that you cannot rotate the faceplate, independently from the screw holes. When using existing screw holes from prior speakers, the faceplate with the Kenwood name may be crooked. The solution is to drill new screw holes or live with a crooked faceplate. However, even that won't work if, like in my situation, the existing speaker wires that connect to the speaker are too short to run to the bottom of the Kenwood (where the two power terminals are located). The existing speaker wires barely made it out from the cutout. Hence, extending them by cutting and splicing additional wire would have meant a lot of extra disassembly to get to the wire from behind the bulkhead. As a result, I installed the speaker upside down. A rotating faceplate would have allowed me to rotate the faceplate so the Kenwood name was properly oriented. Nevertheless, these Kenwoods sound just as good upside down!

Description
Kenwood KFC-1653MRW 6.5" 2-way Marine Speakers Pair (White) this product has the following all along with it as such as kenwood kfc-1653
My 2008 pontoon speakers got too old for the volume I wanted. So I checked all brands and I came up with these Kenwood speakers. Riding the bayous with soft smooth jazz was soooooo clear and relaying. Once we put on the Rock n Roll, R&B. still loud and clear. Worth the money and time installing . BUY THEM
This amp works well. We installed it with a pair of 12" subs, added a capacitor, and it does what it is advertised to do. It hits hard, sounds good and hopefully will prove to be reliable. We've only had it installed for two weeks now. It wasn't to difficult to install and wire up. If you are viewing the picture on this Amazon site, the two mounting holes that you can see are a little difficult to work with if you are mounting in a tight place. They are recessed so deep that you can't get your fingers in there to get your screw through the hole and start them in to your mounting surface. The only other problem I had was when I installed the capacitor, I had to put two power wires on the lug to the amp, which is not designed for that. It was a little difficult to get the screw to tighten up. If by chance you strip out the screw, the hole goes all the way through, so you can get your own small bolt, nut and washers, and replace the screw with that. You can actually tighten it better that way. Once I get it all mounted and wired, it fired right up and with a few adjustments to the low pass filter and input sensitivity, it was thumping! We noticed it does run pretty warm so we're considering putting a fan on it because the trunk has limited air flow. If you are looking for a good mono amp to drive a set of subs, this is a good buy.
Have these being powered by bluetooth amp, JBL GTR-102 100W x 2 Car Amplifier. Really powers these speakers, great bass and highs. Blends in nicely with my white diamond tuck interior in my 1932 Chevy Coupe.
Arrived in great condition. Speakers sound SOOOOO much better than the Memphis Car Audio component speakers they replaced (which cost 3 times more new) Only 4 stars because there is NO WIRE included. I remember the days when wire came with speakers...guess no more.
I recently installed this amp in my 2009 VW GTI MKV. It is powering a Pioneer TS-SWX251 10" Flat Subwoofer with Enclosure 800 Watts with ample power (ha). Be aware when you purchase an amplifier to power a subwoofer, or any set of speakers for that matter, that it is the RMS rated Wattage of the amplifier (and speakers) that are important. This amp states 1000W, but it's RMS for 4 Ohms is really only 300W (500W at 2 Ohms). As such, this amp isn't driving my subwoofer to the point of waking the people in their houses as I drive by, but then again I am 38 and way passed the age of being that annoying and not caring.
The amp does have a few nice features like a frequency range shut off (won't play frequencies below X MHz) and an in-line bass-boost dial, if your car head unit does not have an advanced equalizer to control the rumbles.
The logical place to install it was on the back (trunk-side) of the back-seat on the driver's side so as not to sacrifice too much "trunk space" (you know, hatchback and all). Since the amp is vented, and you are *strongly recommended* to not block them, I installed it vent side up. This left the side for connecting the wires (power, signal, ground, etc) facing downwards into the trunk floor. It's my doing for setting it up this way; I only write it here so that you can plan ahead for where YOU want to put it. Under a seat may be the best place.
