JLab Audio JBuds Air True Wireless Signature Bluetooth Earbuds + Charging Case - Black - IP55 Sweat Resistance - Bluetooth 5.0 Connection - 3 EQ Sound Settings: JLab Signature, Balanced, Bass Boost

JLab Audio JBuds Air True Wireless Signature Bluetooth Earbuds + Charging Case - Black - IP55 Sweat Resistance - Bluetooth 5.0 Connection - 3 EQ Sound Settings: JLab Signature, Balanced, Bass Boost

I have Apple AirPods which I think are great but I am one of those people who have large ear canals or something. They don't fit all that well and I was tired of them falling out so I needed an alternative. Here is a comparison to AirPods.

1. Sound: I think both have great sound. For me since, the Jlabs had customizable tips, the sound is better since the seal is tighter and I don't have to readjust constantly. The bass is very good. The sound is balanced.

2. Pairing: if you have iOS, nothing compares to the ease with pairing with AirPods. Having said that, the Jlabs are pretty good once you do the initial pairing. It takes a few seconds longer but they do pair automatically with your phone once you open the case. AirPods are better at switching from phone to iPad or other apple devices understandably.

3. Fit - as I said more options with Jlab. I hate the way AirPods fit. I tried running with the Jlabs -- not great. I think I have to switch out the tips. Because the Jlabs sit a little top heavy in the ear, with jogging it can dislodge. I'll try different tips.

4. Case - Apple wins. The Jlab case works well enough but I am not sure why it as to be so big. You can put it in your pocket but it is big and bulging and not something you want to cary around in your pants pocket.

5. Range - Jlab has about 1/2 the range. Doesn't matter to me though, I don't tend to keep the phone far away from my headphones.

6. Battery - not as good but very good nonetheless. Depends on how much you listen but I can go for days with one charge of the case.

7. Price - Jlab so much cheaper. I don't think the advantages of the AirPods are worth $100 more.

I'd highly recommend these. If I had to do it over, I would skip the AirPods and get these at a fraction of the price.

Like the first reviewer said, I think JLab hit a home run with this one ☝️ I just got my today and fresh out of the box they were halfway charged and ready to go. Sound quality is clear but bass heavy without playing with the EQUALIZER settings. The best sound for me is the factory setting they call signature sound. The fit is very comfortable and the earbuds are very light in my ears. Although I did use the larger size ear tips as I like to seal out as much of the outside world as possible. Connectivity is rock solid so far and they can get pretty loud too. But for $50 bucks you really can’t go wrong at this price for what you’re getting. I just ordered the Earin M-2 for $250 and I’m praying that they’re at least on the same level of sound quality that these are. Well I hope this review was helpful in making your next purchase for wireless earbuds

I read lots of reviews before buying and these headphones, being new, only had a few when I decided to bite the bullet. I have other jlab earbuds and already liked their cost/benefit ratio, but these are really something else.
The earbuds are comfortable, light, and work very well. The range is good, the controls are intuitive and the charging box is quite small/handy. I liked the charging cable (although it is somewhat oddly placed) and the functionality.

They get quite loud and have three different settings for the equalizer. I prefer the original "signature", but am still playing around with different types of music.

For $50, these are phenomenal.

## EDIT:
After a few MONTHS (Feb2019), I really love these. They're never out of battery, as they charge in the case and it's easy to see when the case needs some juice, so you're never surprised by dead earbuds. I charge mine once a week, sometimes twice. Although I have a few other BT headphones, these are the ones I use everyday for short periods (e.g. commuting, lunch, gym). Calls are ok, but only work on the right side (which is stated in the manual). The touch controls are easy and useful, and contrary to my concerns, they never fall. They are more comfortable without the silicone band -- i only wear them when running/working out, because they get loose with impact (e.g. jumping rope).
Solid buy for the price.

I was skeptical in finding a truly wireless ear bud what was under $50 bucks. I’d been waiting to pull the trigger on some Airpods but I’m glad I didn’t.

I’m a few days in – and will update as I continue to use. Here’s some things I noted:
-Comfort – these are a perfect size for my ears. I added the “Cush Fins” they provided and they were the most comfortable, snug fit. I could see how someone with smaller ears wouldn’t need that or could use the smaller tips sizes.
-Sound – The sound is amazing. Really crisp, clear sound. I cycled through the 3 sound settings and found I liked the signature sound best for what I listen to.
-Easy to set-up. I just took them out of the case, connected the earbuds together and then connected to Bluetooth. They’ve stayed connected for uses later.
-Battery. I haven’t had to charge them yet as they automatically charge when you put them back in the case.
-Microphone. It’s been great for taking calls and so convenient to just push the button to answer calls.

Only complaint is that people keep talking to me at work because they don’t realize I have headphones in. I’ll provide updates as I use them more.

Preface
So there are very few reviews you can find for these. YouTube has two review videos and one of them appears to be a speech to text bot. They have just recently gone up for sale and this company has several other devices that have a lot of critical reviews.
Overview
All I can say is they are amazing. They sound great, they feel ok, and they are within a reasonable price range. The battery Lasted for 2 1/2 hours on 75% volume and still said they were on Medium battery (25-50%). They then took about 15 min to charge back to full. They fit kinda awkward and I wouldn't recommend wearing them for extended periods of time, like for a movie. I had to take them out several times in the 2 1/2 hour period.

+++Likes++++

*******Update***12/28*******
I’ve returned the old pair of headphones. When I contacted JLab, they were prompt and sent out a replacement pair brand new in the box (as they should). The new pair hasn’t given me a problem and keeps a good charge. I have experienced a tiny cut-off from the music I listen to maybe 3x. For me, it’s negligable. I really like these and tell people I know to try them. *******

The design is good, doesn’t hurt my ears. I use the fins to keep them extra snug during runs or gym workouts. I used them right out of the box and they had good quality.
My second impression was good, but I’m wearing them right now and I am getting a low battery message. This is really confusing bc when I turned them on they said full battery, and I’ve had them on for literally 62 minutes and they claim to have a longer battery life than an hour.
I will say that if this continues or the battery goes out quickly I will be returning them.
Barring that setback, good value for the price.

The good: The battery life on these things is great, especially when you consider how much of a charge the cradle holds. As for the sound quality, I haven't heard better from similarly-priced headphones, and some more expensive ones I've used had worse quality. The price is also really great for anybody who wants the functionality and convenience of true wireless headphones without a three-digit price tag.

The less-than-good: The build quality isn't anything to write home about and they definitely don't have a premium feel (which is okay because they're definitely not premium). They're all plastic and the main body of each one is *very* bulky. I have a giant head which makes it less obvious, but I feel for anybody using these with a normal-sized dome. The buttons can be pretty hard to locate quickly with your finger and they are EXTREMELY difficult to press, which means you have to jam the thing way down in your ear to activate them. Finally, the click menu is pretty difficult to master when compared to other true wireless headphones.

The bottom line: If you simply must have true wireless headphones and can't (or don't want to) spend triple digits on them you can't beat these. If you have the option and the inclination to spend more I would recommend doing it, but these are more than serviceable.

I love these earbuds. For the price, you can’t beat them. Sound quality was surprising awesome and the connectivity is solid. I’ve only had skipping when there’s interference from other things, which is pretty rare. I thought the battery life would be a problem (I use them just about all day while working and lounging), but they’ve done really well. I just pop them into the case for fifteen minutes whenever I’m talking to someone or driving and then they’re good to go again. Comfort is good, but stability isn’t. The left earbud did not want to stay in my ear. I think that has more to do with my ears than anything because I seem to be alone in this. I did, however, purchase two different replacement ear tip brands to try. Ones silicone but much larger and firmer than what JLAB provides and those worked well but the best have been sweat-resistant foam ear tips, they fit well when they expand and the sound quality improves. You get 6 pairs for about $7. They definitely have improved but they still don’t feel as secure as I’d like them to be (I’ve been looking for some wing tips like what Bose soundsports have to fix this, but haven’t found any). I probably just need to get used to it, even though they don’t feel secure, they stay in and haven’t fallen out so they probably actually are. If anyone is looking to replace the eartips, these have got a 5mm core. Keep in mind, if you buy extra long foam tips or double flang silicone tips, then the earbuds won’t fit in the case properly. All in all, this is an awesome buy and I’ve recommended it to many people. These earbuds are one of the few truly wireless earbuds on the market with an average review higher than 3.8 stars, and they deserve it!

Shipping was incredibly fast!!!
I ordered them the night before and they came in the next day. First off I have to say, I’m really impressed with the sound quality of these earbuds. They are almost on par with my Apple earbuds (which I like a lot). These will give you a run time of 4hrs and 15 minutes on a full charge (I tested them out).

Build quality is really good. They don’t feel like they’re going to come apart or break, on you. (User advisory) if you have small ear holes I can’t say I’d recommend these as they are not that small they will for medium to large sized ears better than smaller ear canals. They will sit in your ear nice and snug, and they do cancel out a lot of the background noise, so If you’re trying to talk to someone, or you’re trying to hear them, you’re going to get a muffled sound, lol.

Phone calls work great!! I haven’t had any problem with hearing the people on the other side or them hearing me.

This is just a first days review of them. I’ll update this in a week, and give an accurate time of how long the charging case last, and then finally I’ll give a review after how they did after a months use of them.

Right now I will say, JUST BUY THEM!

Update 12/5/18

Still working! I haven’t had any problems with them. So the charging case will last you about a week! I’m loving these earbuds! lol, my girlfriend loves them too, she said I should have bought them sooner as I clean the house house more often now and wash the dishes without her telling me too, lol. Okay, just found out a new great thing about these earbuds. I’m sure it was in the description, but I must have missed it. I didn’t know that I can use both my phone and my work phone at the same time! So I can basically listen to my music on my iPhone and receive phone calls from my work! Alright that’s enough for now. I’ll update at the end of the month. Peace!

First impressions of this product are positive. I purchased these at $50. I have not purchased other earbuds but consider myself and audiophile and am rather picky, but still think the sound quality and functionality of this product are amazing for the price. Other products might do it better, but not at this price. You can expect to receive an above average build, sound quality, and functionality for this price point, with a couple of small quirks/concerns. Details below.

I tested the range of these earbuds by walking about 50 feet away from my phone and they performed the same as if my phone was in my pocket, but I did run into a problem early in its use. The earbuds need to connect to each other, then be connected to your smartphone. I put the earbuds into their case to charge, and when I took them back out, the earbuds disconnected from each other and I had to look online to figure out how to reconnect the earbuds to each other by looking on their website, which was a hassle. If this happens frequently, it could be a big problem for these earbuds. This is my biggest gripe so far.

My phone connects with bluetooth 5.0. Older phones that only support older versions of bluetooth might have worse connectivity, so keep that in mind.

The earbuds are pretty big compared to wired earbuds, as most wireless earbuds are, but I personally don't feel the difference when wearing them. This is mostly just an aesthetic issue, and I personally don't mind.

As with all earbuds, make sure you try all the eartips with and without the included cushfins, an extra padding for the outer edge of the earbud. A good fitting eartip should maximize comfort, sound isolation, and bass level, so make sure you pick the one that works for you.

The comfort of these earbuds are average to slightly below average. I would expect some slight discomfort after about 2-3 hours, even with the right eartip and with the cushfins on, which, for me, helped with fit.

I would've liked for the case to be flatter. It's rather spherical so it fits awkwardly in my pocket. The material also isn't the greatest but seems sturdy enough to protect the earbuds and stay in one piece. It's really light, maybe the weight of a few quarters. If you're planning to carry this in anything other than a pocket, the size is fine.

The USB-A charging cable is under the case and can be tucked into its socket, where it stays firmly in place. It's a very short cable though, and is pretty awkward to charge. I would've preferred a usb port inside the case where you can plug in a longer cable while the case is open, but I'm nitpicking.

The buttons are a little hard to press so when you press them you're shoving the earbud into your ear which is a little uncomfortable.

Mids are a little muddy, but the overall sound quality is really good for its price.

The earbuds make an audible hiss when they're connected and it's silent, but they do stop hissing after about 3-5 seconds of idle.
Will update the review if things change.
