RAVPower FileHub, Travel Router AC750, Wireless SD Card Reader, Connect Portable SSD Hard Drive to iPhone iPad Tablet Smart Phone Laptop for Photo Backup, Data Transfer, Portable NAS, 6700mAh Battery

The RAV Hub saved me money! I just purchased the iPad Pro 2018 64 gig. It’s so easy to connect my 1 TB SSD for additional space.

I had an issue with the original unit, it was getting very hot. I reached out to vendor/seller and they provided me with a replacement unit. New unit works great!! i used it on a 5 hour flight, using iPad and android with no issues.
here is the video showing the old and the new with the temperature problem.

This is a BARGAIN below $60. Avoids the hassle of having to set up & agree to a hotel Wifi agreement on all your devices, by letting you do it on just 1 device through the router! You can even set up the SSID for them to link to your router before you leave home for more relaxation time on vacation, so all your other devices just connect automatically after you connect to the hotel's/resort's internet.

Ever have internet go out on you during a vacation or wish your portable device had more storage space? I was able to stream content to an android tablet, iPhone and Roku from both the SD card and USB drive attached even without internet. The 5G band really helps to avoid lag/buffering you might otherwise get with higher 1080p bit-rate content. No complaints. Nice compact size to. The internal battery means it can even temporarily operate without power, such as when I used to to stream videos from storage while in a vehicle.

If you have an iPhone and a windows PC and don’t like using iTunes to transfer your media files, this will be one of the best tech solutions you can buy! I shoot A LOT of video with my iPhone. Even though I have a 256gb version, I still run out of space, especially I shoot in 4K. Trying to remove files outside of the iTunes system has been a nightmare, until now. If you have those same issues, this RAVPOWER FileHub is the solution! It makes transferring files simple again.

I have seen some comments that give bad reviews stating that their file transfers fail. I have successfully transferred hundreds of files with this device, and yes, I have experienced file transfer failures, but it’s not because the hardware is failing. When you transfer a file, the software does not cut and paste. Instead it copies and pastes. This means that the software is making a copy of the file in order to paste it somewhere else. If you only have let’s say 50mb of space left, but try to copy a 100mb file, you will get a failure. So the answer is to move and delete 50mb worth of files, now you have 100mb free. Then copy and delete 100mb worth of files, so forth and so on until you have enough free space to copy and delete large files.

For those having issues, give the method above a try, I’m sure you will have success.

I really like these kind of devices, I have bought a couple of different ones over the years. I have loved my Hootoo tripmate which recently failed due to battery failing. This is a lot like it since it was made by the same company. The mobile interface has a new look to it, but the web interface looks like the Hootoo interface. Powering on the device is simple and connecting to the wifi for the device is also easy with a simple password of 8 1s. I like the option of 5G, I haven't really noticed a difference between the 2.4 and the 5 G connections. The battery life is to leave the stream available and power other devices. I have tried using multiple media formats with this and it will play .mkv,.avi,.mp4,.m4v,.mp3. You can stream up to 5 devices at a time and when I tested it, it lasted about 6 1/2 hours.

There are a couple of options you can do directly from the main screen like view photos, play movies and music, you can backup contacts and photos also. There were a couple of things you can do with IOS you can't with Android, on the main screen the only difference is you have access to the camera on IOS and you don't on Android. The other difference is on IOS, you can move and copy files from the sd card to your IOS device, but with Android, you don't have access to copy to the Android device, but you copy files from your Android device to the storage connected to the Ravpower. You can do a manual copy and on both IOS and Android there is a button to backup your photos.

When playing movies there are options you have on Android you don't have on IOS, you can play choose subtitles if there is a .srt file with the same name as the movie, but IOS doesn't support that. Also, with android, you can select your audio stream if you have multiple streams on your movie.

Both IOS and Android, you can cast your movies to any device that supports DLNA. When you enable DLNA in the system service settings, then the Videos, Photos, and Music apps on the main screen will show those types of files on the device.

There are a couple of settings you can access from the app like Wifi settings and other network settings, and you can see the remaining battery on the homepage, however, all of the system settings such DLNA, and Samba services can only be accessed by using the 10.10.10.254 ip after connecting.

The web interface also shows you can access all of the USB and SD card files with a laptop or any device with a browser.

This is a very versatile device, and last of all, if you plug in a phone or tablet to this, you can use this as a battery and charge it.

I purchased this device to backup photo data in SD cards (SanDisk Extreme Pro 95MB/s) to a SanDisk Extreme 250GB Portable SSD. It works fine. Transfer rate is about 14 MB/sec. Not fast but not so slow. The setup was a bit tricky for me. 1. Font on the manual is super tiny (The pdf version is available at their site). 2. Sometimes I needed to turn the device off and then on to update setup such as SSID. 3. The timestamp (date, time) of the copied folders is modified to the current time, though copied image files keep the original timestamp. So I needed to set correct time and date from web (10.10.10.254). The app does not have time setting feature. One big issue for me is that this device does not have any feature to show how much it copied in percentage. The app does not have such information either. So I estimated the transfer time and checked the size of the connected SSD on the app. Overall this device is a good option if you don't want to bring your laptop pc. If you need to copy large amount of files and/or many SD cards, you might need to consider other option. BTW, I purchased a Case Logic QHDC-101 portable EVA case to keep both of this device and SanDisk SSD. It fits well though a bit tight.

Got this to share with my Apple iPad and to free up some space.
Going to be getting a newer iPad and this device will act as a space saver via an external ssd.
Also can make use of sd cards and usb flash drives.
very nice device......very useful.
Hats off to Ravpower!

Very happy so far with this buy. Need more time to be able to do a more in depth review
