This has worked perfectly for me for several months. It is attached to my new iMac using 2 USB ports, and all CDs/DVDs I have tried have worked fine. I like the "pop top" compared to built-in, slide-in drives in the old iMacs because it is much easier to free a disc from this player if the Mac has trouble ejecting it. I also tried it on a BluRay disc,it work well and enjoy HD blu ray movies.

It's not terribly fast, but both the convenience of an external DVD without a power cord and the apparent quality of the engineering are excellent. Just what I wanted.Great price and best thing is that no fussy installation required. Simply plug in and use straight away.
Great for a Windows laptop. Pixelbooks do not have compatible movie player software, or at least the Android player software is just not there yet. However, this device does connect and I can read data, but not watch videos on a Pixelbook. I actually purchased it for my spreadsheets and documents, so it is perfect for me.

This product seems to be the best possible replacement for a computer with an internal drive that I found. It only takes one USB cable to run (pretty much all the others I've seen here need two), which is great for my Surface Pro 3 because it has only one port and I do not have a powered hub. I use it with Windows 10 and it works fine. I would like to make it clear that although it is labeled as a portable DVD rewriter, it will also read and burn CDs. "I bought this device to copy some of my Blu-rays for digital display on my iPad. Since Mac OS does not support Blu-Ray by default, I had to use some third-party apps and libraries.
