I love this scale so much that I bought TWO of the exact same one. Here are some reasons why I chose this scale versus other ones.
1. The weight limit was a high factor in my purchase. It has a capacity of 440lbs. Although I will never reach that limit, I know how tempting it is for my guests to weigh themselves, which is why I bought a second one for human use. :)
2. The overall sleek design. It is made of high-quality, one piece design, which makes it very easy to clean. I know other scales may prefer to have ridges in their design to prevent slipping, but I prefer this look, so dirt won't get caught in between the ridges.
3. The digital screen isn't stuck to the scale. I ship a lot of packages that are about 5 ft tall, and it would be extremely hard for me to look over the package to see the weight on the screen. With this design, I am able to mount the screen at eye height, away from the scale to read better.
4. Customer service. While setting up my scale, I accidentally broke the battery cover on the back of my scale. No big deal, but I figured I'd ask them if they could replace that specific plastic piece and they were quick to resolve my issue! A+ for customer service!

The outstanding feature of this scale is that the weighing platform is separate from the digital display. This makes it easy to weight large boxes that would cover the display attached to the platform.
The only thing I don't like about the scale is its precision for ounces. It rounds. So instead of showing 9.1 oz it would show 9 oz. Instead of 10.7 oz it would show 11 oz. When I send packages I like to know how close I am to the full number just in case my scale is not as accurate as the scale at the post office. On the positive side, I verified that it rounds correctly at a number of different weights by measuring an item on a more precise scale first and then on this one.
This scale can run either on two on 9V battery or plugged into a USB port. I like that it runs from a USB outlet rather than AC because I can run it off an external battery and don't need to place the battery near an AC outlet. One 9V battery is included.
I tested this scale with my old scale which has been calibrated. Both scales agreed. I also tested how well balanced it the platform by placing the same item in different places on the scale - all results were the same. Excellent. I have seen scales that show different results when the item is placed at 4 corners of the platform, but this scale showed the same results no matter where I placed the item.
There are several buttons that control this scale's operation. Mode changes the measure of units. Tare button allows you to subtract the weight of the container. The third button is hold, it freezes the weight on the display even when you remove the item from the scale.
Bottom line: nice scale, but not precise if you need to know fractional ounces.

This scale worked out fine, especially for what I needed. I think a seriously heavy duty scale is in the future, but for my purposes, it was a decent product for the money. The scale needs to be "zeroed out" every so often, and when it is moved. Be careful, as it will read as much as .5 lbs off. Also, it reads in tenths of a pound, not ounces. It's not the end of the world to have to do the conversion, but just kind of a nuisance, especially when two extra cents worth of electronics would do it for you - almost every other scale does it. I knew that going in, so no disappointment, but for those reasons, only 4 stars, not five. I'd buy it again, though, so not so bad.
Very simple to use and accurate (we calibrated it with our local BestWay store using some weighed items). Very economical price. Particularly useful: controls and read-out on a long cord, so they are easy to use when weighing a bulky package; different options under "mode". My wife and I have an internet vintage/antique oriental carpet business, and this set of scales has made our shipping easier. The heaviest rug we have sent so far is 120 lbs, so we have not pushed the scales to its limit. Two tips: 1) for ease of weighing large and bulky items set a sufficiently large plywood board on top of scales and set weight to "tare"; .2) don't confuse the "lb" and "lb:oz" settings. For instance, a package of 2 lbs 11 oz will show that (2:11) on the lb:oz setting, but "2.7" on the lb setting, namely 2 and 7 tenths lbs (as 11 oz is 7 tenths of a 16 oz pound). I point this out, as some reviewers seemed to have confused the two readings and complained about accuracy. In any case, this scales is plenty accurate for my wife's and my shipping needs with our company.

I've been using it almost an year now so far it's working great for me.
Portable, light to heavy compatible, easy metric converting mode... can't find much to complain.
If I have to... have to mention one down side of this product would be,
the cord can be little bit longer and more extendable.

Worked 1x and now won't turn back on. Now I can't return because I'm past the 30 day return policy. Good luck with yours. Now I have a flat paperweight. Revision: After my review I was contacted by company and without any hassle I was sent our a new unit that works great. I have my own weights to make sure it's accurate and haven't had a bad reading yet.
I wanted a weighing scale uniquely to weigh heavy luggage for traveling and not for shipping so my review is limited to its usefulness to frequent travelers. I once had an embarrassing moment at the airport when I "guesstimated" the weight with one baggage but it ended up being 4 pounds over and I had to open my luggage in front of an ogling crowd to transfer the contents into another baggage. Yep, that wasn't fun. So instead of guesstimating or borrowing a weighing scale from others, I decided to purchase one for myself since I travel a LOT.
My spouse and I are traveling soon and we are carrying a lot of baggage. If you're like us where you're trying to jam pack things into 4 checked baggages and 2 other carry-ons, and you need to keep alternating contents in various bags till the desired weight is achieved in each, then you'll understand this product is a God send. The scale was at a very nominal price when I purchased it. It arrived excellently packaged and the adhesive was very easy to remove. Once the scale is unwrapped, all you need to do is insert the (included) batteries and press the "on" button on the display. So far I have weighed baggage unto 75 lb and the scale has tolerated 75 lb just fine. Another great thing, the scale works great even in carpeting which is a relief to me since our household is carpeted is most rooms. All in all I'm very happy with this scale and have used it quite a bit now and it's holding up really well. It also looks nice with a neat grey metallic finish. I highly recommend this product for frequent travelers!
This is a fantastic scale I have trouble standing on a scale because I have one leg that is partially paralyzed and this scale is only about 1 inch high and it won't turn over most of the scales I try to use I try to step on them and they flip over backwards and throw me on the floor send this one is heavy and it is wonderful you can put the little mechanism that reads the wait out on a cabinet somewhere so that you can see it closer to your face and it was wonderful I am thanking God I found this scale and it was not a really high price it was only $41 and I just accidentally come up on it at Amazon and I thank God I did find it. I would recommend this scale to anyone that had a some kind of handicap and had a hard time standing and it goes up to 440 pounds also which is nice if you are heavy.
I like the scale. I bought it because I thought it would be more accurate than my cheap bathroom scale. It ended up being within 1 lb of the average bathroom scale measurement. I still prefer this scale though because it registers the weight instantly and continuously (i.e., live). The old bathroom scale calculates and then displays its measurement.
However, despite the similarity in my two scales' measurements, the scale at my gym always measures at least 5 to 7 lbs heavier. I'm wearing the same thing and measurements are done within an hour of each other. So I guess either my two scales are both wrong or the gym scale is wrong. I don't know how to explain it.
That said, the scale has an attractive stainless steel finish. It looks nice. The display is not so attractive and is not backlit, but it doesn't bother me. I like that even sitting on the floor I can turn it on by pressing the button with my toe and then step on the scale. No bending. Also, it will turn itself off after a period of time. So no need to turn it off.
My wife does a lot of shipping for her business and this scale was a HUGE help! Some of the boxes she ships are large and 70+ lb, so with our regular scale, we should have to put the box on, wait a second and lift the box off just to see the measurement. The separate display on this bad boy is super duper handy and allows us to actually make adjustments to the packages while it sits on the scale! No more achy backs!
