This is the answer to all my questions. I have been hunting for the perfect sugar substitute in my ketogenic lifestyle. I've tried stevia, erythritol, and every blend under the sun. All of which kept me wanting something more pure. The after taste of the afore mentioned substitutes always left me disappointed. This stuff, though, is the end all be all. I'll be buying more.
I really love this stuff. I bought extra so I can have some at home, some in the camper, some at the cabin and some in my purse. It's perfect for making sweet tea. I make sugar free chocolate with it. Sugar free peanut butter cups. The only thing I do not like is the bottle. I hate the plastic bottle. Drops are not clean and precise like I am used to with liquid stevia drops. This does taste better than liquid stevia though. So what I do is put it in amber dropper bottles. The 5ml size is great for your purse. The one at home is in a 2 oz dropper bottle. I wish the manufacturer would switch to amber dropper bottles.
I’ve been looking for a sugar substitute forever! They all have a horrible aftertaste. The monkfruit sweetener is finally one I can live with.
The vanilla flavor is strong, but I love vanilla so it’s not a problem. I even use it in my lemonade.
I’m so convinced that I’m going to try the straight up non-flavored Lakanto Monkfruit too.
4 stars because no matter how you do it the container dribbles. Packaging not so good. I put mine in a dropper because it was so annoying to have to rinse it off every time.
Absolutely delicious! As a Health Coach, I recommend this product to my clients as an alternative drink sweetener that doesn't impact blood-sugar at all! Monk fruit has a round taste without the bitter high notes and thinness of stevia, and none of the gastrointestinal side-effects of sugar alcohols (xylitol, erythritol). Lakanto has all natural ingredients (I called to check, no sneaky additives) with Monk fruit as the main event! I have been experimenting with using this for home-made chocolate and sweet treats, and it works perfectly! The whole family loves it! My 11-year-old stepdaughter even asked to have one for her backpack to take to school!
This is the BEST sugar substitute I've ever had! I decided that I wanted to move away from stevia and try something else. Great sweet flavor, five stars. :)

If you do not know about Lakanto Liquid Monkfruit, well, you are missing out. If your sensitive to sugar substitutes, monkfruit will not do that to you. Why? Because Monk fruit contains compounds that, when extracted, are natural sweeteners 300–400 times the sweetness of cane sugar but with no calories and no effect on blood sugar. Monk fruit contain powerful antioxidants called mogrosides, which are metabolized differently by the body than natural sugars. lakanto Liquid Monkfruit is gold. Use sparringly you do not need a lot added to whatever your drinking/eating. They say 3-4 drops, I normally just use 2-3. Very sweet, see above on how sweet. Highly recommend and turned me into a repeat customer. Great for those who want to kick sugar, dieters, low carb, keto, paleo, etc.
I was really surprised to taste how sweet my unsweetened tea was after adding just a few drops of this wonderful product. I do not want to use aspartame because it's really bad for you. Everything sugar free has aspartame in it. You can actually be poisened by too much aspartame. Lakanto liquid Monkfruit sweetener is the best product I have used. I highly recommend it.
I prefer to use natural non-caloric sweeteners, with Monk fruit and Stevia being my top options. The Lakanto liquid sweeteners are a good option for me; I only tried the vanilla and regular/original version so far. I find that Monk fruit doesn't have the aftertaste Stevia sometimes has, and keeps better the sweetness and flavor when baking (or otherwise thermally process the sweetened item).
What made me purchase this product was the clean ingredient list (just water, monk fruit extract and flavors), since I dislike when brands`bulk` this type of sweeteners with glycerin or use alcohol.
The Lakanto Monkfruit sweetener has no bad aftertaste and doesn't cause me any digestive issue. It's quite a strong sweetener (a little goes a long way), while the sweetness and flavor is preserved no matter how I use it. The vanilla flavor is not the best, gourmet-like; it's plain and basic, but still enjoyable. The regular (unflavored) has a slight aftertaste (but milder than Stevia), I think that the added flavor in the vanilla option makes it a little more palatable.
I use the liquid Monk fruit to flavor and sweeten yogurts, overnight or cooked oats, pancakes/waffles, baked goods; I don't drink sweetened beverages usually, so I can't comment on how it works with tea, smoothies or coffee. I usually use a `squirt` per serving, shorter or longer depending on serving size or what other ingredients I use (e.g. if my oatmeal has also fruits, I'll use less). I definitely got less than 330 servings/uses, usually a bottle lasts me 2-3 months, but it's still quite long for a liquid sweetener for me.
I don't monitor my glycemic index, so I can't make any statements on that; what I do notice I don't get a sugar rush.
Regarding the packaging, I just keep the bottle at home, but I also did notice that the cap doesn't closes that well, so it might spill on the go. My biggest complain is that it only comes in a squeeze plastic tube, I would have preferred a glass bottle (maybe a larger size) with a dropper.
Note: There pictures for the vanilla show bottles from two different orders, as the brand seems to have updated the packaging.
Note: I would advise everyone to make sure that the item is actually delivered by Lakanto; some versions of the product are sold by other vendors, some not that reliable on terms of shipment and product quality.
If you’re scrolling through reviews, wondering if you should try this stuff- just try it!! Hands down, the best natural, healthy sweetener I’ve ever tried in both hot and cold drinks, baked goods, etc. Compared to stevia, it has barely any aftertaste and actually tastes like a natural sugar- not “chemically” or harsh. It’s a staple for everyone in my house. Kids too!
It could just be me, but I have a very hard time tasting the sweetness in a hot beverage like hot tea when compared to a cold beverage like iced tea or lemonade. I love the Lakanto powdered monk fruit blend for my morning coffee and thought the liquid would be better as it's already liquid but I find myself using way more than the recommended amount and I feel like it's still not close to sweet at all. Where I would use just 2 tsp of the powdered monkfruit Lakanto for my 24oz morning coffee I cannot taste even a hint of sweetness with even 24 drops of this liquid Lakanto which is way more than the 8 drops which would be the supposed equivalent to my 2 tsp of powdered Lakanto. But in iced tea or lemonade just those 8 drops and I'm fine with the sweetness level. I think maybe the heat of the beverage has a lot to do with the sweetness or lack of it in this case for me anyway! I guess I will keep it for my cold drinks and stick to the powder for my hot drinks in the future!
