Fermaid K (80 g)

Fermaid K (80 g)

Hokey smokes! Been brewing old school for years, my poor yeasties have been stressed, and now that I am paying attention, the yeast are happier, my melomels are tastier, and as an added bonus, they do not need to sit in the carboys for months and months anymore.

This is the go-to for many home brewers. I personally add a dose pre-fermentation and a second one on the fourth day. Be sure to mix it with water before adding it halfway through fermentation, otherwise, it will make your wash explode like a volcano.

More economical and balanced than using just DAP.

It is what it says it is. The mead looks beautiful.

Works well adding the correct nutrient amounts

Feature Product

  • Complex yeast nutrient
  • 1 gram per gallon of must or juice
  • 80 g (2.8 oz)
  • Rehydrate in distilled water and add after 1/3 sugar depletion
  • Use with Go-Ferm for a complete yeast nutrition schedule

Description

Fermaid K is a blended yeast nutrient that supplies ammonia salts (DAP), free amino acids (organic nitrogen from deactivated yeast), sterols, unsaturated fatty acids, key nutrients (magnesium sulfate, thiamin, folic acid, niacin, biotin, calcium pantothenate) and inactive yeast. Add to must at the beginning of fermentation, and again at 1/3 sugar depletion for high nutrient requirement yeasts. Add at the rate of 1 grams per gallon. Fermaid K can be added directly to must, or if the fermentation is active, hydrate in water to avoid CO2 release and excessive foaming. Usage: 1 gram per gallon.

Great product

Seems to be working

Worked great

Used this in Edwort's Apfelwein recipe. Did not get the dreaded sulfur farts that are common with the montrachet yeast when nutrients are low in the must.

Works great for restarting fermentation.
