As advertised....the perfect wood for wine. A go between, not as strong as while oak and not as subtle as french oak. Liking Hungarian more than the others these days.
These have been sitting in my first large batch of mead for the last 40 days, and so far the flavor imparted to my mead is starting to show nicely. I look forward to using these and purchasing more in the future. These will also be a wonderful addition to my BBQ habit. A few of these (after being used to flavor my meads) tossed in a metal box and slow smoking my BBQ are things to look forward to!!

Smelled great! Smelled even better after they were soaked in Maker's Mark for a stout I brewed. Solid cubes that gave the flavor profile I was looking for.

I soaked these in bourbon for a porter, the color was deep and it had a real strong odor of vanillin. The porter is still in the secondary I will have to edit the review when it has been bottled and aged.
