I was skeptical at first because this mount has over 1000 reviews but not many photos so it makes me wonder how reliable are these reviews.
One photo shows a clip to secure the mount. This cupholder mount does NOT have a clip. You rotate the bottom to expand and fit inside the cupholder.
Seems pretty sturdy with thicker plastic throughout. The upper arm is held in position with notches and tightening the elbow.
The device clips are padded, the larger clip i am using for an iphone 6 plus with an otterbox symmetry case. The upper clip is held in place with notches and a quick release button. The lower clip is spring loaded for easy loading and unloading my phone.
The phone did not fall out around sharp turns or bounce out from its clip.
First time i ever owned one of these mounts and im impressed with its durability. It doesnt feel cheap.
Fits snuggly in a Ford Ranger.
Great product, It is a really good stand. I though it will not be stable with my ipad mini, but it stand really would. It could rotate to all angle vertically and horizontally. Build with high quality material. You cannot go wrong with this.
Very happy with this. Arrived and works exactly as advertised. Specifics? Let's go point by point:
- Assembly - Essentially none. Pick the holder you will use, either phone or tablet, and attach it. This isn't really assembly because it's made to use these holders interchangeably. They're easy to swap out.
- Mounting/Unmounting - Easier than I thought it would be. Place in cup holder and turn knob. Turn the knob the other way to remove. 10 to 15 seconds for either operation. My cup holder has an adjustable divider that you can pull out to make it take a bigger drink on one side. I worried this would cause a problem but it didn't. Works great and doesn't interfere with the other drink holder. It might be in the way if you wanted to put a very large (e.g. 62 oz) drink in the other side of a 2 cup holder but I use it with 20 oz drinks all the time without a problem.
- Set up/Positioning - Set the arm where you want it and tighten the upper knob. It took 20 seconds to adjust and I haven't touched it since. You don't have to change it or lose your positioning when you unmount and remount the device which is nice.
- Phone/Tablet - They both work well but I only use the tablet holder. I turn it vertically and it holds my phone, horizontally and it holds my iPad mini. There's a ratcheting side and a spring side. I haven't had to reset the ratcheting side although it's easy to do. It's easy to charge while in the holders. It holds my iPad with the cover that folds around the back without a problem.
- Wish list - I wish it had one more degree of articulation near the device holder. That would help me get the device a little closer to my line of sight without having to view the screen at an angle. That said, super happy, would buy again, recommend, etc. etc.
this is perfect if you have a cup holder in your vehicle that is in a good place to view (like in the center console) this product is great because it doesnt vibrate or move around and it prevents me having to stick a suction cup (they always fall off and make rings on the glass) on my window or glue on my dash. i use mine in a kia optima and it works great, if my cup holder was a little more towards the front of the car it would be even better but thats kia fault not the mounts. the only drawback is there is no quick release on the holder so you need 2 hands to take the phone out of the holder i was going to give it 4 stars instead of 5 but decided it is still a great product and is as described so i gave the 5 for that reason. probably would have given a 4 & 3/4 star rating for not having the quick release if that rating was available
Although I am giving this product five stars, this is not a one size fits all in my opinion. I received mine today and my first impression is that it is heavy duty and well-made, however beware it may not work well for all cup holder configurations. If your cup holders are to the sides of each seat and closer to the seat back I think it will be at your elbow if you drive with your seat forward. It works well with my 2016 Honda Pilot (see photo) because the cup holders are closer to the passenger seat, toward the dash and one behind the other, coupled with the fact that I drive with my seat extended all the way back. In my opinion if there was one more adjusting pivot point, just above the base, it would have allowed an attached device to be able to come closer to the driver. As configured with only one pivot point with a vertical post, you can only adjust the angle which moves the device away from tall users. Don't know why they included a phone clamp when the tablet clamp seems to work with both devices because the tablet holder has one side that rackets while the other side is spring loaded. I bought this to replace a similar holder I had purchased from Amazon, and it is still going strong, but this one looked sturdy in the picture and I am not disappointed. Also, the one I currently have does not support a tablet. My only concern is when my wife is in the car with me she occasionally knocks over the previous holder and this one being less flexible I fear it may not give and would break.

This is a universal mount, for devices not listed please check the device dimensions against the minimum and maximum width supported.
I've been using it for a couple weeks now and I'm really happy with it. This review focuses the physical characteristics of the mount which you wouldn't know unless you held it and used it yourself.
Everything is made of plastic (as opposed to metal), but it's about as nice as a plastic mount could possibly be. The part that goes in the cup holder is some sort of rubberized plastic which grips well. The mechanism it uses to tighten the cup part is very smooth and tight. I drive a jeep with rough suspension and 3 weeks of jostling haven't loosened or moved it (or any other parts) at all. The other plastic parts are not rubberized and they feel pretty solid, while not feeling brittle. NOTE: Be careful while tightening the base. If your car's cup holder is crappy or old or not well-supported, you could potentially crack the cup holder.
You can rotate the "trunk" of the device, adjust the angle of the "arm" that holds the actual phone mount, and you can rotate the phone mount.
The trunk is adjusted by pulling up slightly and rotating it. The mechanism used here seems to be a spring-loaded gear of some sort (similar to the gear teeth on an adjustable flagpole mount, though flagpole mounts are adjusted with a screw instead of being spring-loaded). It feels good. It's just tight enough that it would never turn on its own, but it doesn't require so much force that you would be worried about breaking the plastic.
The arm is held at the preferred angle by a similar gear/teeth mechanism (also like an adjustable flagpole mount) which is held in place by a screw (with a knob on the end instead of a wingnut). Because it uses this toothed mechanism, it'll never slip. However, it also means you don't have an infinite number of angles to choose from. If I had to eyeball it, I'd say you can set it at 10 degree intervals maybe. I personally like this design and it's no detriment to me, since there are still many angle to choose from and it's pretty much guaranteed to never slip.
I have an S7 with an otterbox defender case (which isn't a heavy phone) and the clamp fits it nicely. Anything bigger probably wouldn't fit, though. While driving over bumps, the top of the phone moves back and forth about a half centimeter in each direction. I suppose you have to expect some sort of play on a top-heavy device like this where the arm is 8 to 10 inches high. I haven't owned it long enough to determine if this will loosen or weaken the parts over time, but it doesn't seem to have caused any change so far.
Overall, I love it and I'd highly recommend it.
I bought this to mount an iPad on my elliptical. I have lost a water bottle holder and gained an iPad for entertainment. It works really well. The cup part of this mount is very adjustable to fit tightly in any cup holder. My sister wanted to see how this performs in a car so I set it up with an iPad and it didn't jiggle around much at all. It has separate holders for phones and iPads so you can switch them out. The iPad holder will hold my iPhone on the long edge so I wouldn't ever need to trade the parts out. The cutaway allows room for the charging cable. Personally I like the look of this. It is plastic but it doesn't look cheap. It holds its position firmly and the iPad is very secure.
I gave the iKross 2-in-1 a five-star based upon the design and construction. It is well built with adequate adjustments to hold anything from my wife’s mobile to her 8-inch tablet. The concept is innovative, making use of the cup holder, and the adjustment is such that it fits securely in each of our vehicles.
However, because of where the cup holders are located in our cars (’07 Hyundai, Santa Fe and ’09 Honda, Accord) the iKross 2-in-1 is placed too far back away from the dash to be convenient. Our Accord has a manual transmission and, when I mounted the iKross 2-in-1 in the cup holder, it interfered with shifting.
This is not the fault of the unit, it is simply my fault for not taking the positioning into consideration. If I use it for GPS, I have to take my eyes off the road for too long when I use it.
I'm in sales and work on the road all day. I need to update my online calendar/CRM throughout the day, but don't like to the way my company app works on my phone - and pulling out my notebook for this purpose can be cumbersome. I was looking for an an affordable way to mount my 7"x10 3/4" Dell tablet in my car (It also works with my iPad.) and purchased the iKross based on some other reviews. The price was very reasonable compared to other options. It securely holds my tablet in place and I'm very pleased with it thus far. In addition, it also has an attachment to hold my smartphone. (Not at the same time.) Although the tablet mount works just fine with my iPhone 6S. If you are looking for a secure, affordable way to mount a tablet (or phone) in your car, the iKross is a nice option. Just an FYI - I am an actual user. I paid full-price and was not compensated in any way for this review.
PS - I should add - the viewing angle is downward and not recommended for GPS viewing.
I had been looking for a robust cell phone holder for my BMW X3 for over a year. Specifically, the device would need to seamlessly fit into the driver's seating space, position the phone so it was easily visible, yet not obstruct any of the car's operation. And, of course, the installation needed to be safe and not compromise the car's interior. The iKross adjustable cup holder feature results in a ridget mount to the car without damaging a thing. The adjustability of the device has resulted in creating a perfect view of my phone. I am quite pleased with this choice. In addition, even though I have not driven with it configured this way, the iKross 2-in-1 can hold my iPad Pro too!
