These Walkers Shortbread is great. They tast as great as when we bought them in Britain. Unfortunately we can't keep them around the house or we'd be eating them all the time, through-out the year.
For those who have not had these shortbread, they are much like a machine made cookie (crumbly not crispy) and have a subtle sweetness to them. The cookies in this packing of the shortbread cookies (fingers) come two to a wrapper. Each cookie is good for 3 or 4 small bits. That is unless you're a dainty eater. In Britia, think of these shortbread being served with tea. IOn the U.S.they are nibbled, munched or devoured any time of the day, with tea, coffee, milk ... got the picture.
I discovered these in the hospital when my sister sent me a "junk food" assortment that contained a pack of these. I was a newly-quit smoker who's taste buds had come back, and these cookies were the best thing I had tasted in a while. They are hard to find here in rural Tennessee, so I get them from Amazon. You need to watch a couple of things...these come in a 20 gram and 40 gram package, some sellers might not notice and charge the same price for both. I prefer the 40 gram package as I have COPD and could eat the Walker factory bricks and all and not gain a pound. However, be aware that each finger is 100 calories, almost all of that is from fat. This might be a concern some people. Otherwise, thanks Walker's for giving a man with little time left some great eats.
Nom nom nom nom nom nom! If you are a fan of real butter shortbread - this is the ticket. You get 24 packs of 2 "fingers" which are actually more like tiny long brick shapes. Heretofore I shall refer to them as bricklets because fingers is just really not an accurate description, and let's face it, it conjures up images of the Ice Truck Killer from Dexter and THAT my friends is not conducive to having a tasty snack with your tea or coffee (if you can't be a true Anglophile). Anywho, these bricklets are the perfect texture and flavor; dense yet crisbly (combo of crispy and crumbly), sweet but not TOO sweet (as shortbread should not be) and OH SO BUTTERY!! Also, the two pack is perfect for tossing in your purse for an afternoon work snack, or if you have high maintenance kids, I guess you could put them in their lunch - but truly, these would be wasted on rugrats. Lastly (maybe), each bricklet, has 100 calories so if you can just eat one 2 pack, you won't wreck your diet too badly. So there you have it, Walker's Shortbread Bricklets are NOMS! They just need to change the name.
I'm writing about the single serving convenience packs, offered in a 24-count case, Walkers Shortbread Fingers, 2-Count Cookies Packages (Pack of 24), which are also available with Subscribe and Save. They're amazing! Here's why:
1 Yes, as everyone says, these Walker cookies are exceptional. You may think it's all just buzz, but if you haven't tried them, don't judge us as silly until you do (!).
2 But what happens if you open a box -- you finish it, right! BAD. These little suckers aren't the greatest thing for you, to put it mildly.
3 Answer: single serving packaging!! It really works. My husband is addicted to these cookies. I'd always have a box on hand in case of unexpected guests -- at least, I'd think I had one, but the box would usually have disappeared unexpectedly whenever I went to look for it. True confessions: I love them too and was occasionally looking to sneak some for myself! So having them around just in case was a bad, BAD idea. But a case of 24 packs of 2 cookies per package is ideal. Two seems to satisfy my husband's craving -- he almost never takes more than one packet. And I open a packet occasionally and make 2 cookies last 2 days, instead of a whole box lasting almost forever and my worrying that they'd go stale or attract ants.
Bonus: they're easily packable! When my husband's expecting an exceptionally tough day at work, I'll usually sneak a pack into his lunch if he hasn't already appropriated one for himself.
And when he's especially wiped out at the end of an unusually demanding day, a pack of these really seems to perk him up and help him muster strength for tomorrow. He brings it upstairs while he's watching TV and waits a while before opening the bag and savoring his treasure. Whether for lunch or after dinner, the gleam in his eye as he talks about how wonderful it is to have a treat when he's so stressed means a lot to me, especially when I know he's only eating in moderation instead of wolfing down ten or twenty servings at a time. The case of 24 has lasted us 3 months already -- a pleasant surprise, given that there are 2 addicts in the house. : So our portion-control strategy is working!!!
And yes, when we had guests who chose after-dinner tea, these were just the right thing to bring out with it, and I didn't mind opening multiple packs at once and putting the cookies together on 1 plate for serving, knowing that I wasn't either spoiling an entire box, or promoting too rapid consumption of it, just by providing our guests with a few.
I wish two other treasures came in single-serving packets: LU Herbes De Provence Flatbread Crackers, 4.25-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) and Mary's Gone Crackers, Caraway, 6.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12)!!
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
My mom and family love these cookies. I found these online and I was like hmm...it sounds pretty good.."pure butter cookies." I ended up buying it and it lasted a week. My entire family ate these and I gave some away to my friends and family. It comes in small little wrappers carrying two each. I ended up buying another as a gift and received these as a gift as well. It's great with tea.
The only downside is that I bought this during the Black Friday Sale for $16, thinking that it originally goes for 20ish dollars. It's now about 14$-15$. So I was a bit cheated with the price.

Description
The name Walkers is recognized as a mark of excellence all over the world and is known as a true Scottish classic. Even though the Walker family has added several products, each and every one holds true to their values of quality and natural goodness. Walker's shortbread is made using four simple ingredients - flour, pure creamy butter, sugar, and salt. Walker's products contain no artificial flavorings, colorings, or preservatives and are even kosher certified!
I fell in love with Shortbread growing up in Scotland. It's not AS common here in the states, but you can still find it. Still, Amazon provides a wider variety of options, and this is my favorite.
The taste is, in my opinion, excellent. Generally I prefer a softer cookie, but with shortbread I think Walker's hits the nail on the head. It's crumbly and buttery and sweet, with no vanilla or any other spices to take away from the simple pleasure. There's something about eating shortbread that makes one feel just...simple. In a good way.
The packaging is my favorite, though. It's easy to grab one from the cabinet for a quick breakfast on the way to work, or any time you need a little convenient snack. And at 100 calories per package, it's easy to calculate the impact on your diet. To me, these might be the most satisfying 100 calories you can find. They're dry enough that they take some time to eat, tasty enough to please, and filling enough to curb hunger. Fantastic!
When this item is shipped it is shipped with fabric softener and laundry detergent so it taste just like those items. I do not understand why it would be packaged that way. I'm actually going to return this shipment since I cannot eat it. It taste like soap!
In addition, the soap had opened and spilled all over the box
I love these, VERY convenient for me. I am hypoglycemic so taking these with me to pick up my blood sugar levels is VERY helpful. I also LOVE them. They're very buttery, are easy to chew and taste great with coffee, tea or plain milk. They're HEFTY, even for the twofers in these packages, solid cookies that satisfy either my regular or hypoglycemic hunger pangs - one packet of these does the job.
Perfection in a little pouch -- crunchy and smooth at the same time, buttery and sweet (but not too sweet). To the Walker's company: Please continue to keep your standards high. Walker's Shortbread is the finest! We love it!!
What is better than an ALL BUTTER Walker's shortbread cookie? A pack of 24 with TWO all butter shortbread cookies!
If you like the round shortbread cookies TRY the one's they call the 'fingers'. They are not small by any means, thick- just like the round cookies, and they come in a pack of two for convenience! The price is better buying this way and cost is definitely a factor when buying Walkers ALL Butter!
