The good news? IT TASTES LIKE MEAT! The bad news? It tastes like the mystery meat from my childhood. If you are expecting a beef, pork or chicken flavor you might be disappointed. I gave it four stars, however, because after cooking up two of them I actually wanted to cook up a couple more. That is a win in my book.
I love to dip these in egg then in a lo carb flour mix spiced with garlic, onions and a spice mix. I fry them in a small amount of oil and they are thick, chewy and satisfying. They are great reheated with eggs for breakfast, or smothered in gravy with onions and mushrooms, and many other ideas. I use the juice when frying and as gravy. It is what you make it, and I make it tastey!! 😊
THE QUALITY AND FLAVOR OF LOMA LINDA CHOPLETS HAVE NOT CHANGED SINCE THE TIME I FIRST TASTED THEM
OVER 40 YEARS AGO. THANK YOU LOMA LINDA FOR STAYING TO PRODUCT
I have had a gastric bypass and have struggled with veggie meat substitutes for years. They are either rubbery and hard to digest or crumbly and don't hold up to cooking. I also have to avoid getting too much soy. I love Loma Linda brand meat substitutes. Very good texture and adapable to many recipes and cooking methods. They have multiple protein sources in the product not just soy.
This particular product I made with my own combination of breading. I used powdered smok flavoring and Italian seasoned bread crumbs after dipping in an egg wash. Great grilled...tasted similar porkchops but even better. I will certainly add this to my shopping cart again and again!
Eaten these all my life. Not really changed all that much. Glad to see the new owners of this company haven’t fudged with the flavor too much though I can’t give a fifth star cause, well, I thought the “low fat” craze died with the y2k bug. Not as good as the regular fat version but can never seem to find those anymore.

The instructions say to bread these and eat them, but we just cut them up and use them as a meat substitute for vegetarian pot pie! It works great and actually ends up making a great pot pie that reminds you of a dark meat turkey. We will definitely buy these again. I gave it a 4/5 though because aside from the pot pie, I can't think of what else to do with them. Eating them on their own isn't a very inspiring flavor.
These are super yummy dipped in some italian bread crumbs and pan fried with a tiny bit of olive oil. I had them with miso gravy and mashed potatoes, made a really good quick dinner with a good amount of protein and not a lot of fat.
They are so good dipped in flour and fried crispy with onions.
This is another Seventh Day Adventist food. It is not like any real meat I ever tasted. Sometime I fry it and sometimes I eat it just out of the can. I like it and most people raised on it will learn to like it. If you don't want to eat meat it is a good choice.
Very tasty fried up with some flour & spices - goes well with a standard "meat & potatoes" kind of meal and mixes well in a rice & veggie dish.
