This is the second TV mount I bought this month, and is the cheaper of the two. The TV I was mounting on it was a 42" Vizio for my bedroom, so I wasn't as concerned with the weight bearing capacity of the unit. Having just done the other one last weekend it was a breeze to mount this one on my own. Two small pilot holes to verify the stud, then a thicker bit to pre-drill where the carriage bolts were going in. The bracket itself is sturdy, and has great articulation, despite the fact that I'll keep it pushed flush up against the wall.
Took 20 minutes to get the measurements double checked, bracket installed, TV leveled, and Netflix up on screen. Well worth the money, and honestly no huge difference between this and the $42 one I purchased. Would happily recommend this to friends.
Just installed this mount MD2414-MX this past weekend. It's a great, solid mount and comes with all the mounting hardware that you will need for walls with wooden studs or concrete. I like the fact that they provide various options for mounting along with the necessary hardware to accomplish the task. It was plenty strong enough to mount my TCL 55" 4K TV (which is only about 30 pounds). I was impressed at how smooth the swivel and tilt action are on this unit. It's definitely a best buy. They sell a similar one at Costco that costs more than twice the price.
*2/2018 Update.....TV STILL HANGING TIGHT! I even swapped to a 50 inch tv...no issues at all*
If I could rate this TV mount 6 stars, I would! I never had a tv mount before since it seemed like it would be a big hassle to make holes in the wall and I never quite trusted my tv hanging on a mount. I saw this mount on sale for dirt cheap compared to best buy charging $70 for a lesser quality so I decided to take a plunge! First I'd like to say that this mount kit comes with EVERYTHING YOU NEED in the box from the screws to the spacers! I'm a handy guy but I was a little intimidated looking at everything in the box but I made this mount a project for the weekend and got it INSTALLED IN UNDER 30 MINUTES (32 inch tv. through 1 1/2 thick dry wall). I did need to go buy a 1/2 drill bit to make it a clean job.
Tools you will need: Power drill, stud finder , correct drill bits to make your holes and I personally used Snap Toggle bolts since I could not drill into the thick metal studs that my condo uses.
Tips:
- If you cannot drill into your studs then use Snap Toggle bolts hold tv's perfectly through at least an inch of drywall, use at LEAST 4 of them and you will never have issues. (new and improved 6 pack sold at Home Depot for $7...well worth it!)
- You can use the cable ties to keep the cords looking neat or you can drill through the wall to hide them (takes a few mins)
- I have included the picture of the Hillman Snap Toggle bolts if you want to try them out. I mounted a 32 inch tv that only weighed 27lbs and these bolts are rated to hold 80lbs each.
IF you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
40" Vizio is on mine. It weighs nothing near 66lbs. It comes with legs to fit many types and spacers and bolts for many TV's, but this Vizio was simple. No extra legs or spacers. Wall installation was fine, but having and extra set of hands would have made it easier. Use a drill, I predrilled slightly bigger holes than it said, they are hefty bolts. Use a 1/2" socket to drill the bolts in, don't bother with the Phillips fitting on the front. Much more torque with the socket and you'll probably just end up stripping the Phillips fitting out any way. But very simple if you have a drill and socket. Comes with a level and Allen wrench, HDMI cable and Velcro wraps to keep your cables together. I love it, never had a movable mount. And for the price, it's a must have.
The instructions were very clear. The assembly was very simple. Insulation overall is very easy to handle. One comment is to ensure the Tilt forward bracket is tightened when you're putting your TV backup on the mount on the wall. This will keep the TV from slowly falling forward and potentially falling off. Also make sure you have a good stud finder so that you do not get too far to one side or the other of a 2x4 for installation.
The movement and swivel of the entire bracket is perfect and I absolutely love the security of this Mount directly into one stud vs. All across a 16 inch measurement for other brackets.
The only help I asked for was from my husband to help me put the TV on the bracket on when it was hung on the wall. I handled the installation from beginning to end by myself with that one exception. So as a woman, I recommend this bracket.

This is one of the best packaged products I have experienced with any mechanical/self install item I have ever purchased. Online or in a retail store. Packaging??? He's ecstatic about the package?? Yes, I am. Best part is the phenomenal combinations provided regarding one's particular TV. There was no running to the garage looking for a tool or even a jury-rig part.. Everything is there. Even a small level. It was included. Mounting Dream allowed for no confusion. Allen wrenches, level bolts, washers, et al . Actually, you are left with enough spare parts and tools to setup a little installation business at home. I didn't have to call for help until it was time to hoist the TV to slide it in the bracket. Which was a breeze, and sturdy enough to not worry one iota about future troubles. Did I mention the HDMI cord was included? Now I have.
I love having this for my TV. Very easy to setup and my TV hangs great using it. I love that I only have to search for 1 stud in the wall to mount it especially with my walls were you never know were or how far apart the studs are in the wall. I had more issues trying to use a stud finder to find a stud to mount with then I did mounting my tv using this tv wall mount. I like that it swivels in just about any direction needed and can be tilted down pretty far as well as a bit upwards if needed. This all goes without saying that it does (like anything on the market) have some cons. It came with a very small bubble level that was a bit defective. If you tilted the level to the left and then level it, it would get stuck all the way left till you tilted it back to the right then level it. This for some could be an issue if that have the same problem cause if they are like me and don't have a real level to use they are stuck either going out to buy 1 or using the one that came with the tv wall mount. I managed fine with the included 1 considering the con. This thing came with a lot of bolts, washers and parts for just about any tv needing hung up. My tv manual states my tv is a Vesa 400x400 which this mount states you would have to use the arms included to for that type of tv. I think my tv manual was wrong about the vesa size cause I didn't use any of the arms for my tv at all but I did have to use 1 set of the included large washers cause the bolts to screw into the tv were either to short or to long without using them, no big deal it worked out great, it looks great and my tv is sitting pretty on the wall like it belongs there. I'm not going to take a star off for any of the cons I have cause this tv mount works just as good if not better then the way over priced ones at more then over half the cost. I have this mounted to a Samsung KU6300-Series 40" 4k TV.
Works great for my 40" Sony 4k tv- I didn't realize that it had a weird mounting pattern. I had to get creative with the spacers but it worked out perfectly. I bought this mount because it had the furthest reach- I am using it as a TV when it is facing my bed and as a (quad) monitor facing my desk. Then when it is not in use- it tucks away neatly against the wall. I loosened up the pivots so it move with ease. I would buy this again and again. If you had a need to move your tv into a different room on occasion- you could easily by 2 of these hang a tv on one and a picture on the other- then swap. it is a quick lift off mechanism with 2 little screws you can leave hand tight.
The instructions were clear, and assembly was easy. I used this to mount a 50" Toshiba Fire TV to an interior wall in my master bedroom. The bracket comes apart into two pieces, one mounts to the back of the TV, the other mounts to the wall. Mounting to interior walls requires a drill, wrench (a ratcheting socket wrench is easiest), tape measure, and stud finder. A level will make things a little easier, but a tiny level is included with the bracket or you can McGyver a solution using a plumb-line. You MUST mount the bracket to a stud (the wooden beam behind the drywall); it cannot be mounted to drywall alone. You can mount the bracket to the TV and to the wall by yourself, but you will need a helper for a minute or two to do the final step of hanging the TV on the bracket and securing it with two screws.
Once mounted, built in adjustment screws made it easy to correct small errors in level and angle the TV down so it's easy to watch from bed.
This was about as easy as it could possibly be to assemble and mount. Once installed, the TV moves smoothly and easily. This is a great product and a tremendous value. Highly recommended!
Okay, full confession. I'm not good with tools. I understand their purpose, I can muddle through some things, but by and large I am a check book remodeler. My wife figures out what she wants, I arrange someone with a better relationship with tools to come here to carry out her plan.
The other day my 15 year old Westinghouse 46" flat screen, mounted above my gas fireplace gave up the ghost. I don't know what's wrong with it, but it wouldn't run through it's start up, probably a power surge got it as all the clocks in the house were flashing indicating a power outage. But it was old and it was a dumb TV and the prices of new TV's have dropped like crazy, so happy me, I'm dumpstering the old and gonna swap in a new one.
Not so fast.
The mount that I paid $150 for and put up by guys I paid $150 to, that I could do chin-ups on was there, it looked really stout, it was a little adjustable side to side and could angle a little. Heck I don't need a new mount, I've got one, easy peasy, right? Nope.
Long story short, after figuring out how to get our old TV off the mount, releasing a bottom pair of hooks and getting it to lift straight up off the top rail and almost killing ourselves my wife and I put the brackets on our new 55" tv and prepared to hang the TV. Nope, the mount is inset into the wall because the old tv was thicker and had a bit of a bump out on the back. Getting the TV hung on the top rail finally showed the mount was not going to allow me to even reach the power cable. Took almost an hour to get that new tv off of the old rack. I hate the makers of that rack, I wish them ill.
I start reading the reviews here and run across this mount. Because the mount is inset into a cubby this looked like it would be the perfect solution.
The box arrives in 2 days ( thank you Prime) I paid like $25 for it with their coupon and when I opened the box I was amazed at how much stuff was in the box and how well set up the parts are. Each different kind was wrapped and lettered, multiple different sizes of everything, bolts, spacers, arms, everything. I pulled the mount out, very well made, seems extremely high quality and it made sense just looking at it.
Two of the previous holes in the existing board were used and the mount was up and level in like 5 minutes. The back of the new TV did not require any of the arms be added, the mount fit perfectly. Once I figured out the spacers, that was on it 5 minutes. Called my wife in to help lower the tv on to the rack, 2 minutes. Tightened the mount bolts and my TV was up and running.
This mount allows my tv to fit flush with the cubby built for my old TV and I can swing it out left or right for viewing if I'm here by myself, other wise it points straight out from the wall.
There isn't a lot I can do with a screwdriver, socket wrench and a drill, but this is one that let me look like a TV hanging genius. These folks have done it right. Thank you.
