AmazonBasics Ventilated Adjustable Laptop Computer Holder Desk Stand

AmazonBasics Ventilated Adjustable Laptop Computer Holder Desk Stand

Great product. Puts the laptop at a usable angle and the mesh frame permits the computer fans to work OK. I agree with other reviewers that the raised metal keepers will interfere with your wrists and hands on the keyboard, but found a solution in the laptop stand's packaging. When you open the product there is a cardboard insert inside the frame. Remove the two edges from the cardboard and place them on the frame above the keepers. They are already the correct width and will raise your laptop just high enough to that your hands clear the keepers and the laptop stays secure. Depending on the thickness of your laptop, only one piece of cardboard may be required, mine needed the two.

Every other laptop cooler I have purchased has a USB plug to run a fan. Got tired of the fans making noise, the USB or cooler plug not working eventually etc.
So gave this one a shot and it does what it says plus. Keeps my 15.6" Mac book pro cool and my legs are not heating up any more when sitting on the couch. Also the bottom does not feel nearly as hot as it used to. So why only 4 stars. The two tabs to keep your laptop from sliding off are not adjustable so when you are typing your arms want to rest on those tabs. Really uncomfortable. So in the pictures you can see a slight modification I made to alleviate this problem. I now rest the laptop on the pads so when typing my arms are resting on the key board portion as if the tabs were not there. Much more comfortable. I used strips of thick felt with sticky bottoms. Certainly not a technical fix but does the job. All they had to do was include a metal piece retrofit on the bottom portion that would allow you to raise your computer to a level so the tabs would not interfere. Simple but maybe on the next model. Check out the two photos.

Works really well as far as ventilation and incline, great built quality too. Front stoppers are a little bit of a problem depending on where your touch pad is placed though. My laptop is a little on the thin side and the front stoppers come up past it., because of this my wrists are at times on top of of them, not very comfortable. I've thought about sawing them off a little. You can always just slide you laptop to the side a little I guess. My laptop is an MSI Gaming G Series Ghost. If yours is thicker then you should have no problem at all, then I would highly recommend this.

Note for builders: You guys should make front stoppers adjustable side to side and up and down. Too many laptops have different placements of touch pad. Great job on quality!

Can't seem to say enough about this awesome stand. This allows me to utilize my laptop monitor and a second flawlessly. The cord keep on the back is great as well. I am about to purchase another monitor and with the choices of adjustment angle, this stand should place the two screens side by side perfectly for that one as well.
There is no vibration through the metal as the contacts on the bottom are padded. The fan on my laptop almost never comes on even during day long uploads to the cloud due to this stand having it suspended in air on mesh.
Very, very glad I made this purchase. Easily worth much more than I paid, the options for adjustment angles are ample, and lets my expensive baby run cool. Buy with confidence!

I'd like to say I like this stand. I won't say I love it or that is perfect. For my needs, it gets the job done but there's a few things that just didn't work out. Like the levels to adjust height. It seems to me that even at the lowest setting I still think it's a bit too high. The position of my laptop seems way too high. I had to adjust the screen as far back as it would let me. I did so that I can get the clearest picture. A shy more and my laptop might just begin to break. It seems that way anyway. I'm not saying it's breaking my laptop. The keyboard is at a very good angle and definitely boost typing. Actually I play games on my laptop and having this stand has helped out a lot. I can make quicker, more precise movements due to the slanted, elevated position. The thing that really bugs me about this stand is the two pieces on the bottom that actually hold the laptop. My laptop is actually not thick at all, considering all the components, only 2.21 cm thick. So these pieces stick out stabbing me in my wrist, makes it really uncomfortable to hold the typing position. I'm working on a hack. Maybe just put something underneath, like a pencil box or something. Just to lift it up a little from the front where these two pieces stick out. Lastly, I'd like to say that I can't compare this stand to any other as it is the first one I try on this particular laptop. But I did browse around for other options and after comparing I chose this one. For $20 I got a substantial boost to my screen viewing, keyboard position and air flow. If any of these features are must have for you then I definitely recommend it.

An Amazon Brand.

Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic stand for any laptop, but it's an even better stand for the Push 2. I've spent the past week looking for the most cost friendly, durable stand that money can buy for the Push 2. I just wasn't interested in spending over a hundred for a custom made wooden one from Berlin or wherever those units are made. I was at first worried about two things- would this stand slip? And was it too large for the Push 2?

I was thrilled when I found out the answers to these 2 questions. This stand can withstand the constant pressure being applied to the Push 2 and doesn't slip. If you are looking for more resistance, feel free to add little feet to this unit or some rubber pads. It's good without, even better with. This unit has 4 small corner pads that help prevent slipping. Additionally, this thing fits the Push 2 like a charm. I was even wondering, was this made for the Push 2? Silly thinking, but it's true! Absolutely recommend!

Sorry for sideways photo's but Amazon is not cooperating with my image uploader :(

I love my laptop stand! I am typing my review while my laptop is on the stand. I love this thing! Did I say that already?

Its pros are:
1. It holds up very well. I have had this since this summer, and I have not had a problem with it at all.
2. It has many different positions so that you can have your laptop at any angle you like. It's perfect for keeping the monitor at the correct level to be ergonomic.
3. It helps keep the laptop from running too hot. It works well for this purpose, and there is even room enough for me to put a small fan in there.
4. It is inexpensive so that it won't kill your budget.

The con(s) are (is):
1. It could be a little bit wider. I have a 17-inch laptop, and it does hang off the sides.
2. The tabs that hold your laptop in place are a little bit too tall. I tend to end up resting my wrists on there sometimes, and it's not overly comfortable. They are padded, though, so they do protect your laptop from damage.

Those cons are not enough for me to have taken off that fifth star. Overall, it's been a great little stand! I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again if I needed to.

I'll start by saying I use this stand for leisure purposes (browsing, writing a few emails, amazon shopping, of course...all while sitting on the couch in my PJs). For my purposes, this is SO MUCH better than a cooling fan. Zero noise. Doesn't use up a USB slot. Not large or bulky. It gives more than adequate circulation to prevent my laptop (MacBook Pro) from overheating. It does the same job that a cooling fan can do.

Prior to using this product, I would just put the laptop directly on my lap, but it would overheat (the laptop AND my legs) very frequently. I haven't heard my laptop in "overdrive" once since I started using this stand. And my thighs certainly appreciate it.

The only negative thing I will say, which is why I deducted 1 star, is that the little support lips at the front corners are a bit high. I'd say they protrude about 3/4" above my laptop (I assume to accommodate thicker laptops), but since I have a thin MacBook, they are a bit in the way of my wrists/forearms while typing. If you're wearing short sleeves, it may become a little bothersome/irritating. Again, I only use this for leisure while I'm on the couch (and I frequently wear long sleeved hoodies) so it doesn't bother me much. Lots of silly details, hopefully it helps someone make a purchasing decision.

What I Like:
It does exactly what it says it does.
Great price.
Has 8 notches for holding laptop in a wider degree of angles than most other ventilated stands.
Has channeled cable holder on the back to keep cables for peripherals handy and organized.

What I Don't Like:
A little clunky looking.
The stops at the bottom that keep the laptop from sliding off have curved notches on top, presumably for resting wrists in, but they are hardly comfortable. I put foam pads there when using the stand which helps.

With an Income Tax Preparation practice I'm on my laptop 10 hours a day entering data. Using the laptop keyboard and mouse pad on the flat and level angle that laptops offer is stressful. An elevated keyboard serves the purpose of 'tilting' the keyboard into a natural position for typing. This AmazonBasic Ventilated and Adjustable laptop stand is perfect and produces the effect of a typewriter slant for those who grew up on IBM Selectrics or Royals. Fully adjustable for just about any angle you are comfortable with. Well made, light weight and it looks as a 'piece of the laptop' in sight. One small warning: the tabs on the front end that keep your laptop from sliding off may be a bit short for some laptops. The tabs rise only .75 of an inch (3/4"). My current, and several past laptops, the front sits 1.0 inches (1") at top front but slanting down at .75 of an inch (3/4") inward. The slant keeps the tabs on the stand from holding the laptop in place - causing the laptop to slip down and off. Simple solution to this: Binder Clips. Use the medium size binder clip, one on each of the stand tabs. You can find 'binder clips' on the Amazon web site. A box is under $4 but you only need 2 medium binder clips so . . . check with a school teacher or office worker and get two for free. Other than that, the right tool at the right price. Buy one and see for yourself. You'll be glad you did.
