Works for my windows 10 64 bit system. However, be aware that the range is quite limited. I got this for the samsung hmd odyssey VR system that pairs controllers to the VR headset via bluetooth. When my desktop is on top of my desk, it works just fine- the controllers remain paired as I move around in a 10 foot radius around my computer. However, when I had my desktop placed enclosed inside a thick wood cupboard of my desk with the bluetooth toward the rear of my metal case desktop, my controllers would keep unpairing. The only way I could get them to stay paired was to sit down on the ground right in front of desktop. So if your computer is sitting on top of your desk and you plan to only connect in a limited range, this should work fine for you.
I had the following problem with this device which I like to share :
OS : Microsoft Windows 10
Problem : Experiencing terrible sound quality
Possible Cause : windows update
Note: First I tried option 2 and it didn't solve my problem.
Possible solutions :
1 - Worked for me
1A : Go to Control Panel -> Devices and Printers.
1B : Find your Bloutooth device in my case (CSR8510 A10)and if you see an orange alert, continue to 1C. if not you may try second solution
1C : Right click on your device and choose troubleshoot. Windows will try to fix your problem which in my case was an issue with the driver. follow the steps and restart your machine
2 - Instructions given by the seller - Zexmte -
2A : Go to Control Panel -> Devices and Printers.
2B : Find your headphone/audio device.
2C : Right click on your deivce and go to Properties.
2D : Go to Services tab and uncheck "Handsfree Telephony".
2E : Hit OK, you also may want to restart your machine
Good luck
I bought this to pair with my Logitech K380 keyboard to the computers in the computer lab at school and it works perfectly. The computers run Windows 10, which allows for plug and play bluetooth without the need to install drivers. I plugged the dongle into the computer and went to settings and paired my keyboard just like if the computer had its own bluetooth.
If you don't have a Windows 10 computer, you might need to install drivers, but this dongle comes with an 80mm disc with drivers in case you need them. The dongle is also small, but not too small. Logitech's unifying receivers are really small and difficult to remove from a computer. In my case, where I plug the dongle into a public computer, I need to be able to unplug it without issue. This dongle is large enough to allow me to unplug it easily.
If I had to choose anything negative about this, it's that the blue status light gets annoying quick. It blinks to let you know it's broadcasting bluetooth, meaning there's no doubt whether or not it's working, but it never stops blinking, which I imagine can get annoying quick when it's on a laptop in a dark room. Other than that, this dongle is great. I haven't noticed any drop in connection compared to a 2.4 Ghz wireless connection, which can get interference from other wireless connections. That being said, I don't think anyone else in the lab is using a bluetooth computer, so I am in an optimal environment.
Plug and play (Windows 10 on older Vaio Laptop) - worked instantly with no need to install drivers or software. Appeared in Control Panel and recognized and connected to several 'local' Bluetooth devices (mouse, sound bar) without a problem. The Vaio's Bluetooth capabilities had permanently failed after many attempts to re-install... so this 'dongle' was the perfect solution. Great price, solved a problem, highly recommend.
Purchased the Zexmte Bluetooth USB Adapter CSR 4.0 USB Dongle because we have one older laptop that has no Bluetooth and one new unit that has an intermittent internal Bluetooth card. This adapter worked on both Windows 10 laptops with no need for the driver CD. Installation in the laptop with no Bluetooth was a simple plug-and-play operation. Windows 10 did the rest. On the other system, we had to disable the intermittent Bluetooth device in Device Manager before plugging this adapter in the USB port. Once we did that the laptop was up and running Bluetooth in less time than it took to read this. Like the adapter so well we ordered another one as a backup for traveling.
PROS
• Price
• Simple plug-and-play installation in Windows 10. (Can’t say how it works in Windows 7 because all our laptops are running Windows10)
CONS
• Wish dongle had a lower profile.
Good product for the price. Recommend you consider this product if you have a need for Bluetooth USB dongle. This product was not provided as a sample for this review, so none of these comments are influenced in any way by the seller.

Great product at a great price. Super smooth installation on Windows 10 64-bit laptop. I plugged it in and Windows 10 instantly recognized the device and loaded drivers. Using the little Bluetooth icon that appeared in the tray, I easily connected to Bluetooth speakers.
Folks with an older OS may need to download drivers and/or use the mini-disc in the package but that was completely unnecessary in my case.
Could not be happier. You can spend more but I do not see how you could get a better or easier to use device for this purpose.
Update review - June 3, 2018...
I'd like to thank the company for replacing the bluetooth dongle. The replacement dongle works well. No audio-video lag while streaming videos from YouTube. I'm rating this 4 stars because of the wonderful communications from the vendor. They reached out to me and honored what they said they would do. Please know that the replacement dongle was not the same dongle that I had bought. The attached image shows the replacement unit on top and the original unit on the bottom. So, I cannot say if the original dongle was defective, or just wasn't compatible with my computer hardware. In the end, I have a working bluetooth dongle. Thanks again to the vendor for reaching out and making taking care of the customer.

Original review
I purchased this dongle, installed the drivers from the enclosed CD, plugged in the device...computer recognized the device on first try. I paired my older Logitech H800 headset and it paired quickly, however upon listening to a YouTube streaming video, the audio and video became out of sync. I had purchased the Sony 1000XM2 headset, so I awaited their arrival with hopes of different results. Unfortunately, the Sony headset paired, but again the audio and video would not sync. I have searched for updated drivers, since normally drivers contained on enclosed media are not up to date. Zexmte, the manufacturer does not seem to have a website and I can't find drivers. My system is a newly custom built ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 7 1700x. I have 32 GB RAM. The system is running Windows 10 Pro. I cannot recommend this product due to the manufacturer and drivers cannot be located online. Currently, this device is of no use for me.
Edit: First one they sent me had lots of issues- latency, stuttering, bad range. Just all around funky.
They sent a new one to me and it works way better. Can actually pair properly, has range and doesn't have the stuttering problem from before.
Maybe I just got a bad first try.
I bought this Bluetooth device 5 months ago. It was easy to set up; upon plugging it in, Windows 10 automatically downloaded the drivers. It scanned and found my Bluetooth receiver plugged into my Bose radio's AUX jack; and the audio was excellent playing CD's and MP3's from my desktop computer.
I had not used it for the past few months and now the computer acts like it does not exist. I can see the unit if in the "Devices and Printers" screen in Win 10 but it does not appear in the Device Manager list unless I select the "Show hidden devices" from the View menu. Trying to update the driver and run the Windows BT Troubleshooter did not work. Finally, I plugged the unit into my laptop and it didn't work there either; which indicated it was toast. The only good thing about it was that it was inexpensive and I did not lose more $.
UPDATE: I changed the review to 5 stars due to the excellent customer service; after reading the above review, they immediately sent me a new unit.
Unfortunately, this unit did not work with my computer either, BUT: this tells me that I might have an issue with my USB ports and it might not be the fault of the product. I also had a problem with my web cam and it took considerable fiddling with my computer's USB drivers to get it to work - I suspect a recent MS Win 10 update might be the culprit. The sad reality is that not ALL external devices will work with ALL computers and operating systems. I certainly can't blame it on this seller, who at least tried to do the right thing. The unit did operate flawlessly prior to to OS update. If you buy it and it doesn't work, let them know and they either replace or refund.
I purchased this because my old Bluetooth dongle was almost falling apart, and I wanted to replace it before it broke completely.
I don't use bluetooth for speakers or other audio output. I used this for my Dualshock 4 controllers and my Nintendo switch controllers. Both will pair normally and are recognized by windows. DS4W works as well to make them appear as xbox controllers for applications that don't support Dualshock controllers
