Anyone writing a negative review either just expects the exact same thing as a regular bagel or just simply doesn’t know how to cook. Having said that, I can tell you that these bagels are indeed not exactly the same as a regular bagel. They are noticeably lighter both in taste and density, maybe a little bit smaller in size (compared to some “regular sized” bagels you’d get at a shop) and a little different texture. Other than that, these are very good bagels. They taste very good, with no after taste or any other problems you’ll see with some other low carb foods. They toast well and can be used just like you’d use regular bagels. You can make some really good low carb pizza bagels with these too, along with other creative dishes and snacks other than just a typical breakfast bagel. I would say you can probably use these as low carb hamburger buns too if you want.
Being a confirmed low-carb person, I have purchased a large number of low-carb products since 1998. It is not easy to find low net carb bread which is worth eating. People new to a low-carb diet often have to adjust their taste to find something suitable. Even old timers like me sometimes just take the best of the worst.
I didn't find this to be the case with "Love the Taste" products. I was wary at first, too many bad products, but I tried one bag, even though the cost per bag with shipping is outrageous. I got them and liked them. I tried the bagels on some standard carb eating friends and they liked them. To them, the bagels tasted like everyday ordinary bagels; though I confess, none of them are bagel experts.
Over the last couple of months I have re-ordered and enjoyed the different bread types from this company. My biggest complaint is the shipping costs. I can happily note shipping costs do not compound directly on large orders and that keeps the overall costs down. Yes, they are still expensive, but if you want to stay in a low carb lifestyle and can afford these, they are more than worth it for the taste.
It is possible that the other reviewer got a bad bag, but I have not had any issues with any of my orders.
I did nearly dock the rating one star because of shipping cost, but decided against doing that since they have been good about balancing the cost when I order a few loaves of bread and a couple of bags of bagels at the same time.
While these are not your normal bagels, it sure is nice to have a "vehicle" for your breakfast sandwich while on a keto/low carb diet! Very filling as well, so it helps keep you full and not want to snack. At least it does for me.
These are the best low-carb bagels we have tried. We purchased them again, but the price with S&H is awfully high, so we won't be purchasing them too often as a result. I would also feel better having them shipped during the cooler months, because although they put in a small ice pack, it has stopped being anywhere near cool by the time it arrives. I am giving the product itself 5 stars, because anyone who has eaten low carb bread materials knows how hard it is to find something that is closer to the real thing. Although these are a bit spongy in texture, they are the most palatable of all the brands we have tried for low carb eating.
Not bad despite some bad reviews! Toasted them then placed them face down into a pan with bacon grease and let them sit for a few minutes, then smothered with cream cheese and bacon. They were a crunchy base and I couldn’t detect any taste! I also placed them in the refrigerator in a new baggie with a paper towel to absorb any moisture as soon as they arrived because I did see reviews about mold.

If you do low carb or Keto this will definitely solve you need for bread texture. These toast up very well and perfect for a treat.
I mostly just wanted a vehicle for breakfast sandwiches and this fit the bill. They're kind of tasteless and the texture isn't anything to write home about buuuuut if you're missing bread these work well for sandwiches. I find that disguising it with lots of fillings makes them way better. Used one as a burger bun and that was okay too.
This brand and the bagels in particular are , by FAR, the best tasting low carb bread. The frozen stuff from Whole Foods is almost inedible. These are amazing toasted with butter or as hamburger buns, or sandwiches, etc. Are they as good as “real” New York bagels? No way. But they are outstanding for what they are.
Was happy to have bread without guilt. Just wish I didn’t have to feel so guilty about spending that much for bread.
I have been eating keto so I bought these bagels to have once in a while as a treat when I was really missing my favorite snack and they totally do the trick!!! I have tried them with cream cheese, butter or peanut butter with some Lily’s baking chips and they are great with every topping ! I’ve only had them toasted so I can tell you that it’s seriously like a real bagel... the only thing that tells them apart is how crunchy they get when they cool and they are a little drier than a real bagel but they are sooo good especially if you’re diet doesn’t allow you to eat things like bagels! Great subsitute !!!
