Originally bought the AC750 newest model but had nothing but problems. Returned and tried another brand and it was even worse. Figured I would get this model and try one last time and it works perfect. Little slow but works pretty like its supposed to.
Received my RAVPowerHub and tried to transfer my photos from ipad onto external drive, it’s a breeze task. Great item. Hope it will last long
I can’t even remember how long ago I bought this. This thing still works like it did from day 1. It will sit for 8 months in a drawer, yet the battery stays almost full. We streamed movies to 3 devices on a 5 hour flight last month and the battery bar went down 1. No issues at all. No streaming issues at all. Perfect!
This turned out to be a great solution to the problem of backing up photos while I'm on vacation. It's a little complicated to figure out how to do everything the first time, and then I forget half of it by the time I go on the next trip, but the device definitely does everything I wanted it to do.
Great for all iPhones, and it's a great power bank to boot.

this is a very useful pocket sized tool. I just bought a new macbook pro, and for some reason apple made the decision that people don't need USB ports anymore (yes I know there are adapters that will give me the USB ports). I saw this little beauty on here and decided to try it out and it works great for my file transfer needs, at least of small files, transferring large files I do use the adapter just so that I get a higher transfer rate, cause wireless transfer is not as fast as wired (obviously) and it saves me time to just wire in the drive I'm using. Even though this only has a maximum connection speed of 300Mbps and I'm use to 1Gbps speeds at home, just adding this into my network configuration give me the ability to add and remove my networked storage as I need it. It is also very nice that I can use it with My android Phone and my 103 year old Grandma can connect to it using her iPad and and we can watch movies on both of our Smart TV's from it Flawlessly. I have also been finding very useful at work where I do sales, service, and support for apple products and this works great for transferring files to multiple devices at once. I am think about buying a couple more just so that I can leave one at home, and work, and also have one I can keep with me, just incase.
Bought this to steam videos off USB drives and SD Cards and this didn't disappoint. Interface of the software in my android phone is a bit primitive as also the web interface of the device in a computer browser, but it is able to do the job it was intended to do so I have no complaints. Oh yeah, a nice feature this has is that it can provide a steady bridge to a wireless router to extend its range. I never travel without this as I am able to keep all our devices online as we travel using whatever Wi-Fi services it can sniff out of any hotel, hostel, library nook, restaurant and share it with up to 10 devices. It has the CPU horsepower to serve sufficiently without lag, except of course the lag of the Wi-Fi it is getting would be the only real limitation. But that's just a bonus feature, I bought this more for the media steaming capabilities so we can watch TV episodes and movies off it to our mobile devices or a wifi-enabled TV. Supports DLNA to some extent, functions as a Wi-Fi Router, can also be a powerbank with 5600mAh battery and USB output of 2A. You can even run an external hard drive off it and steam content from that device, but the runtime is greatly reduced due to the load of a USB hard drive. So as you can see, it has many uses, I'm glad I bought it. I recommend this to anybody who would like to have the capabilities I mentioned while on the go/travelling.
Fantastic travel companion!
Amazing charger and file hubs. I have two of this. Great for viewing photos, video, movies on IPAD and Iphone. No longer need to bring heavy laptop for photo transfer. Only thing is the latest software apps is not as good as the original apps. I also use Moblelite from Kingston which is also great buy for less than $20. These file hubs are great for traveling.
I wanted to use the Ravpower WD03 as an on-the-road backup device for photography - i.e. copy photos from the camera's SD card to a large USB flashdrive (128GB). I don't see very many people commenting on using it this way, so I figured I'd review my findings.
It works VERY well for backing up photos from a camera's SC card to a USB flashdrive (probably an external hard drive too - since it claims to support such devices). I was amazed by how FAST it did it.
For example, I shot 210 raw+jpg shots with my Canon 60D DSLR, resulting in 210 jpg files (about 6MB each) and 210 raw files (about 25MB each)- i.e. about 30MG for each shot. I was able to backup these files from the card to the USB flashdrive in 22 minutes. So, in other words, a typical day of shooting raw+jpg, taking say 200-300 images, would take less than 30 minutes to backup to the flashdrive in the evening.
Plus, it seems to use very little power - it has 4 lights to tell how much charge it has. 3 were lit when I started the 22 minute copy, 3 were lit when it finished! (I think the tablet battery went down by maybe 7 or 8% but I'm not positive).
That's the good news. The bad news is that at least for me the WD03 was not at all user-friendly, mostly because the FileHub Plus app that I got from Google Play did NOT work correctly on my Lenovo A8 Android tablet (with KitKat OS). Even though the Ravpower was almost instantly recognized and connected to by the tablet, the stupid app kept insisting that I was not connected, and would not show me the devices connected to the Ravpower. So it was unusable.
I almost returned the item, but discovered that if you use the tablet's browser (Chrome; Dolphin was sporadically unreliable with this) and sign in to 10.10.10.254, you get a control panel with an "Explorer" option that allows you to do the copy (and paste) operation to accomplish the backup from SD card to USB device. This is not at all obvious (at least to me it wasn't) from the manual, because it has this info in a different area (from using the device as a wireless device to control attached devices).
I was also able to upload and download files to/from the tablet's internal hard drive to the devices connected to the Ravpower (this is the area where the Dolphin browser did not function properly; Chrome did). I didn't measure how fast this operation was. It is kind of hard to know how to do it, although the Advanced User's Guide on the Ravpower website tells you how to do an upload. For a download, a long-press on any selected file in a device's filelist seems to initiate the download of that file (and any other selected, I think) to the tablet's download directory.
So, if you want to use the Ravpower WD03 as a backup for your camera, don't give up if the app doesn't work. Use your tablet's browser and it works great, with very usable speed.
===========
I am adding to my review that I just got a newer tablet, an Asus Zenpad S (has Android Lollipop - 5.0 - OS), and the app works fine on it. So I do not have to resort to using the browser as I did with my older tablet. Only negative is that the app itself is pretty confusing and hard to use, as others have reported (in fact, it looks pretty much what you get with the browser version, which is probably just an old version of the app stored on the device). Regardless, the device is still a really good way of doing backups on the road. In use, I have found that it seems to hold its charge for a very long time (just sitting unused), and as I reported earlier, it is fast as a backup device.
The Product Rocks. I don't normally get excited about anything.
This multi function piece of tech solved 5 problems for me at 1 time.
To start I have a son who is Autistic. The backseat of my Tundra is his domain. He takes 2 backpacks of movies a dvd player, his phone etc. Everything has to have its place.
My son can now just take his tablet and leave his DVD player and 2 Backpacks of movies at home.
This device has allowed me to add a phone as a hotspot and give internet access to anyone in the truck.
This device has allowed me to plug a USB SSD into it with all of my sons movies on it which he streams to his tablet.
This device has allowed me to plug my SD cards from my camera and dashcam and copy them to SSD without getting my laptop out.
This device has its own backup battery so even when the truck is turned off it powers the SSD, the Phone , so my son is not interrupted.
This device is plugged into a secondary battery to charge it as a fail safe.
This device also picks up my home wifi and becomes available on the home network. So getting to the files on the SSD is simple and fast.
All of it fits in a Plano 3600 series waterproof which fits in my center console. It can also be taken anywhere in the Plano box.
My truck is now about 60 pounds lighter and my Son is happy. Doesn't get much better than that.
Thank you RAVPower
