As a meatball, this stuff is awesome! The first time I made them, they were dry and unappetizing. The second time, I added a tiny bit more water and a tiny bit of oil. Perfection!
I love that I can completely understand the ingredients. Some of the other meat substitutes are so heavily processed that I’m not convinced they are better for you. My husband loves these as meatballs too! I tried the Mexican version as ground in a skillet and wasn’t super impressed. Hubby found it suitable though.
The original Neat is great in casseroles, or as ground meat in a sauce of some type. LOVE that it does NOT have soy, and they already have egg replacer in it now, so only water is needed. HOWEVER, I'm willing to pay under $7 for this product. A few months later went to order more packets, and the price had DOUBLED. Will have to go elsewhere outside of Amazon to obtain for reasonable pricing.
Not too bad ,I mixed the two eggs and two tablespoons of water together then added the mix.It starts out as a paste but then cooks into crumbles ,one trick is to add a ounce of water about two or three times as you cook.As the neat starts to get too dry add water to hot pan as you would to "steam" vegetables ,then use a plastic spatula to group dried bits together .The mix is much like very lean meat and you might want to add some taco seasoning as it is not seasoned that strong.Works well for tacos or sloppy joes ,don't know about adding it to tomato sauce to make "neat sauce ",better than chopping up veggie burgers and I was happy with taste .
My daughter has an egg allergy so there is so much she can’t eat. I have used the neat egg for baked goods and it works so well. You can’t tell a difference in taste. The only thing I would say is that it is really gummy and I added a tiny bit extra water. But so worth it to buy and make it possible for my little one to eat baked goods
I made a cake with it and was a bit nervous at first because the consistency is a little strange and it didn't mix in well with the cake mix. Maybe I did something wrong? But after the cake was done baking it tasted just like normal and held together very well. Much better than when I used applesauce as an egg replacer. All in all I'm very happy with this and will buy again.

Can't tell the difference in the baked goods I've been preparing like crazy! No cholesterol and doesn't go bad fast like eggs do, just 2 ingredients in it, can you believe it!?!? I am thoroughly impressed!
This was the first time I tried "neat"(By the way, as a teacher I really want to use an uppercase letter for the name of this product) Anyway, I bought "neat" and prepared it without reading the ingredients list and was really excited to realize it's main ingredient was pecan meal. No soy in the product. I liked the flavor (Southwest Mix) very much but the serving size is somewhat tiny (because ground pecans have lots of calories and nutrients). The item you get after preparing it is small but packs lots of flavor. I cooked up two servings (half the bag) and made tacos out of half and took the other half for lunch the next day. The finished product is smaller than a standard veggie burger but that is fine with me. I enjoyed this product and will purchase it again.
Great for baking and sometimes used in a patty like an egg sandwich. however i'd recommend vegan bacon to accompany the egg sandwich style. I used vegan bacon flavored bits for salads. after reconstituting them. mixed them in with the Vegan egg substitute on toast. not bad, even made vegan cornbread with it. I recommend this product for baking and the above suggestions. Enjoy.
I have used this to make meatballs and cupcakes, both turned out great. I also love that there are only two ingredients, so I don't have to research to see if I'm allergic to any unknown ingredients.
