The chocolate honey stinger waffles taste really good. I bought these for a quick, on the go snack to eat at work so I don't go to the gym on an empty stomach. I can't say that it gave me any energy but it didn't upset my stomach when I was jumping around at the gym so that's good. I saw a review on here that said someone adds peanut butter to these so I gave that a try... OHHH my goodness! A little bit of peanut butter on a chocolate waffle takes this quick snack to the next level. I also like that by adding the peanut butter, I'll get some protein. I'm glad I bought these and I probably will repurchase. I'm a chocolate lover so I don't know if I'll try any of the other flavors but they do sound good.
Oh-- just a little "warning"-- these are really crumbly. They're soft and fall apart easy. I just wanted to let you know so you don't open it and get crumbs ALL OVER your rug or in your car.
My son has Crohn's Disease and meeting his caloric needs is a daily struggle. These honey waffles have been a big part of keeping him healthy because they're portable and they taste great so he'll actually eat them. Honey has always been important in his diet, I put raw honey in all his shakes for the the energy and calories and all the great natural anti-inflammatory properties it has, so when I first saw these waffles about a year ago, I was really excited to give them a try.
These work well for running, I do use a brand of sports gels but I find these are even more gentle then those and they give about 50 more calories.
Edits: I do find that I can only eat about 2-3 during a road marathon I a also had the traditional sports drink provided on course. During a trail race beyond marathon distance I find I can eat more like 5 for the 30 mile trail race I did in addition to the more gentle endurance sports drink provided on the course along with some fruit at one of the aid stops during the race. I will eat these better then the sports gels even though I find they are drier then the sports gels I had used before, I just have to take enough water when I use these things depending on how well I am hydrating during the race. I like these because they have Maltodextrin in them.
Love these waffles! As a multiple IRONMAN finisher, I swear by these, and not only appreciate the taste and thoughtful ingredients, but love that it's kind of a treat because they're so delicious. I primarily use it as fuel on the bike (solids aren't my thing when running), and these are the perfect pre, mid, or post workout pick-me-up. I love the Honey and Chocolate varieties, and supplemented the waffles with homemade fuel on the 112 mile courses I've ridden. They're also great starter for a brutal, indoor training workout on the bike or as a post-swim snack.
Tastes great and go down easy. Not too tough on the tummy either. Those disgusting, chemical-infused gels would sit like a brick in my stomach, and this has been a great alternative! Highly recommended.
My wife and I have made our own on several occasions, and while good, this is one nutritional product that I think deserves a purchase!
Make sure to count your waffles. Some boxes seem to be opened slightly so that they can remove 1 or 2 waffles from the entire box when it could seem like poor shipping. I'm writing this for a recent purchase, but the condition of the Stinger Waffle Box looks the exact same.
Other than that, love the waffles. Great for rides.

I have tried many things as a quick pickup before a workout and I am glad I found these. Please don't buy these if you are looking for some nasty processed sugary snack. I have seen a lot of negative reviews and I don't understand why unless the people thought they were buying some kind of super sweet snack. I have bought these in the store as well as on Amazon and they do crumble a little but if they come in bad condition it is usually the carriers fault and not the product. I have been buying these for a year and will continue to do so. People try to compare these to Cliff bars! Cliff bars have approximately 21g of sugar compared to 11g in the waffles. Come on people!
I bring this on outdoor training rides where I find them superior to other bars
The good: They are flat and as a result, you can fit a stack of them in a jersey pocket. Compared to other bar shapes, you can easily carry 600 calories and not look ridiculous. They chew easier than some other, drier, bars. The wrapper is relatively thin and easy to open, but it will take two hands or your teeth (never a good idea on the bike).
The bad: They are very dry so require you to drink with it. Not too different than other bars. They crumble. This means you will lose some of those calories to the ground. Usually, they don't stick to the bike for too long. But, skip these for the indoor trainer to avoid the mess on the foor. Finally, no dry bar should be your primary food source in a race situation because you can't be sure the pace will allow you to be opening packets of crumbly waffles when you need calories. Best to bring partially opened gels for that.
These taste AMAZING. The chocolate waffle flavor is my favorite, but I look forward to trying the other flavor options from Honey Stinger. As other reviewers have mentioned, the product can get a bit crumbly when taking it out of the package or biting into it, but I'm careful not to throw the package around in my bag so it maintains its shape. The waffle is not too filling or heavy and is great to snack on twenty minutes before a workout. It's super lightweight and doesn't take up hardly any space in my daypack. I take these as "dessert" on my long hikes or for during a trail run. I'll keep buying these in bulk for as long as they're available on Amazon. I don't notice a huge kick after eating them, but they're easy on my stomach and keep my energy up.
These 150 calorie treats are much like a candy bar but feel more healthy...? Honey plus Graham Cracker/Waffle - what’s not to like? I take them hiking and backpacking, store them in my BOB (Bug Out Bag), feed them to innocent young children, such as my nieces or nephews, and eat one or, more likely two, for a quick breakfast. They are a bit bland (honey + graham crackers - Duh?) but they are filling and the guilt trip is less than gorging on a Snickers. On second thought, the nuts in the Snickers are nutritious...:)? Whatever, they taste good and the (conservatively estimated) expiration date is in 2 years. Kid suck these up like vacuum cleaners! Bon appetite!
At first I did not like these as they were harder to open (still are) and had a lot of crumbs. After learning to eat on the bike and trying many different items, however, I have found that the taste and feel on my stomach of these snacks are superior. These are the ones my body wants when I am riding. I wish the packaging would tear down one side entirely thus making removal easier. Inevitably a little corner tears off and you fight to get it open. You can fold the cakes in half and that prevents them breaking off and falling on the road in bumpy conditions. If they fix the packaging to where they are easily opened, 5-star.
