This thing is awesome!! Love everything about this unit!! Big screen easily seen anywhere in my 18 ft boat. Great alarms, tide table charts, and accuracy when marking fish. We went dipnetting at the mouth of the Kenai river when sockeye & chinook salmon were schooling below the boat and seals were chasing them, really cool to watch on the fishfinder! Depth is extremely accurate!
I like how fast it arrived and that it arrived in good condition. I was a little disappointed that it was not packed in another box to hide what this item was. Installation was super simple. I needed a little help with wiring to my VHF, but Garmin had fantastic customer service and I was able to get it hooked up. The downside is the size of the transducer. It is so long, that I was unable to mount it on the starboard side because the propeller of my trolling motor would have hit it, so it is mounted on the port side. I will see how it goes.
I installed this on my Seaswirl Striper 1851 Walkaround boat and it's been great so far! Intuitive menus and a nice bright and easy to read screen (even in the sun). The plastic mount feels nice and solid. The whole unit just pops off from the plastic mount so you can take it with you when you park your boat (a great safety/anti-theft feature). It came preset with maps for Hawaii (though my last unit did show more points of interest). I generally go out in offshore Hawaii waters and troll for fish. I placed the transducer a reasonable distance from my main outboard motor and followed the included instructions for the right angle and such. It just worked right out of the box! Overall a great deal for the price and feature-set.
Many different screens, charts and functions to mention. Half a season of use and I can't wait for more! Depth finder and fish finder functions are so easy and worth the cost!
We are going to the Florida keys. This will be awesome for fishing and boating!

I really don’t know how a person could do better for the price. Easy to use, easy to install, works great.
Works great!, Comes with Blue Charts installed and I had Lake Vu HD on an Micro SD card I added to it. Using it in a 22ft Deck Boat for the Lake and occasional Trip in the River.
Another great Garmin product, I've owned three now. Like the clarity and the high speed capabilities. The feature that let's you map out and draw your own charts in detail for a small area not already in the memory is phenomenal.

Haven't installed this yet. After installation, I might give five stars. I read all about it and also the reviews before ordering this and it sounded like it didn't come with a cover so I ordered one for it. I was disappointed that in the description of this that it didn't say anywhere that a cover came with it. I will be returning the extra cover I ordered for it.
