Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 68 Fl Oz

Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 68 Fl Oz

I am always happy with Colavita's olive oil. I frequently get this through Subscribe & Save and there is sometimes an enticing coupon you can stack to get this 68 fl. oz. bottle for well under $20. The quality is dependable, the flavor is great, and it works well for cooking and dressings. This respective product is typically a blend from several countries. In my particular case, it was a mix of Italy, Greece, and Spain, although it is not uncommon to have Portuguese olives in the mix too. If you're looking for something of a single origin, research accordingly. If you're looking for something well priced, of a consistent quality, and having multiple origins is of no concern, go for this.

As others have complained, even though the pictures in the product listing show Italian oil, you may get something else. I'm having to revise the review slightly, as I though I had gotten Greek oil, but closer examination of the label shows it is a mixture of Italian, Spanish and Greek.

Was not really upset, as I have tried some of the other blends of Colavita oil and found them good. Today my wife and I did a blind tasting and decided we like the blended oil better than the Italian I had on hand. The Italian has a bit of a peppery flavor; this was smoother. It is also is 30-40% cheaper than the Italian oil from the grocery.

I did deduct a star because it was not as advertised, although in the end it was fine for me. It might not be for others. Amazon should enforce truth in advertising. My experience also raises the question of what variety will I get in future orders?

It has a VERY strong flavor, making it great for savory dressings, sauces, etc. The flavor is savory, vinegary, bitter, and very rich. For the price, you'er not going to get a more flavor-rich olive oil. Probably. I mean, what do I know?

My son's Italian girlfriend says no Italian would use any other store brand. This is priced fairly and tastes fine. Of course there are other brands that are much more expensive, but for everyday cooking, this one is great.

This is the BEST tasting olive oil I've tried. It cooks foods so well and is much healthier than veggie or corn oils. I use this for bread dipping and all my frying. This is a GREAT price on this half-gallon jug since it costs nearly double at the grocery stores.

I love buying olive oil in bulk and using a smaller jar on the kitchen counter. This brand is supposed to be really good and it is in a convent plastic container. Beware of packaging with smaller items because it bent in the huge jar.

Same product as in store, better price and delivered to my door. Love it. Don't let some of the pseudo-snobs on here tell you any different, this is a good solid olive oil, good flavor and reasonably priced. I have been to olive first pressings before and yes, there is better olive oil out there. But if you are looking for a good every day product, don't hesitate to buy this. I'd love to have Japanese Wagyu prime rib everyday, but I'm not going to whine and complain if I get a good old fashion choice bone-in rib eye. Nor should you.

I was tired of running out of olive oil. This certainly doesn't replace my nice olive oil, but it makes darn sure that i'll always have some around. love the large size, the oil is really nice - but not your fancy straight from sicily stuff, but it does the trick. Solid.

I have tried many different olive oils and this one is by far the best. I love the creaminess and flavor. Not too strong. I use it on everything and it mixes well with vinegar and herbs. Take a Triscuit, add a bit of cranberry Stilton and a a sliced plum tomato. Sprinkle with basil and a trace of rosemary, drizzle Colavita over the top...instant lunch or fabulous appetizer! Yumminess! Oh it's also great for cooking. This may be my new butter!

I'm super impressed with this product ! The oil itself is A-grade , and the packaging was awesomely, securely done. The ( beautiful !) bottles were cold at the time of delivery. I'm impressed
