This is a very easy drinking, tasty beer. I knocked it off one star because mine came out honey colored and cloudy--not straw colored and clear like a Kolsch should be. Probably needed to purchase liquid Kolsch yeast separately and use a wort chiller instead of ice bath for faster cool down. I used German dry ale yeast and fermentation temps a little higher than normal (70-75) and the beer came out really crisp and clean flavored with a bit of a lemony tang.
Get the liquid yeast, use a wort chiller, and find a cooler place and I think your results will be perfect.
Everything you need to brew a fine lite ale. I just tasted the beer as it was placed into the secondary fermentor. This should come out very clean and smooth in two weeks.
Straight forward instruction schedule, plenty of room to make notes for future batches.
Just finished brewing this and I love the results, the only thing I did different was to discard the yeast that was included and get some White Labs Kolsch liquid Kolsch yeast. The reviews of the dry yeast included in the kit implied that it may develop some off flavors. I'm extremely happy with my results.
Awesome Summer beer. Decided to take a short break from the hops and brew something a bit different. I'm about to order another kit. This beer is very refreshing with a hint of citrus that the ladies will most likely enhance with a slice of orange. My fellow hop heads found this one to be "a very good beer". After being in the bottle only two weeks, it is disappearing quickly.
Delivered on time.
Kolsch Homebrew Beer Ingredient Kit is simple to brew and I like it if I put a slice of orange in the glass.

Description
Kolsch is a crisp, clean, easy-drinking ale. It has a Straw- yellow hue similar to a pilsner, but is less hoppy, a bit sweeter and uses pale malts and a small amount of wheat. The lager-like characteristics this ale is Famous for are achieved by using a liquid kolsch yeast.
The beer came out great! One of the best kits I have made. Well balanced taste with just a hint of citrus. Although the beer was fantastic, the shipping was atrocious. The kit was not packaged in another box, it was not sealed (i.e., taped shut), and the box was badly smashed when it arrived. Fortunately all of the ingredients were intact.
I really liked this kit. It was fun to brew and turned out well.
Can never go wrong with pre made recipe
This made very tasty beer. Would recommend again!
Another great brewers best kit. Beer is very light and tastes great. Best part of this kit is the history behind this type of beer. Look it up!!
