We ordered the Whister WS1025 Desktop analog scanner for our son for Christmas. A few days after I placed the order my husband accidently dropped and broke our 25 year old Radio Shack scanner. I ordered another of this scanner for us. Both came within days of each other. Very quickly. My husband set ours up quickly and we love the sound. This scanner holds frequencies our old scanner would not.
My husband set up our son's scanner and he put it back in the box and wrapped it. I asked him a few days later if it would hold the frequencies if it is unplugged as our old scanner would not if it was unplugged for more than a few minutes. He said he didn't know but I guess we will find out. A week or so later it was Christmas and that same night my son plugged in his scanner when he got home and sure enough the frequencies were still there and it worked beautifully. We both love our new scanner and my son and his wife love the one we gave him.
I read in the reviews that some folks thought it was hard to program. My husband said it was very easy to program and it has been on 24/7 since we got it about a month ago and it is working great. Would highly recommend this product.
Works great and have not had any problems with it at all. I hate reading instructions so i just put model number in youtube and boom i watched a video how to program and was so easy!
In addition to my P25 digital scanner I find this analog unit works well and is easy to use for my AM / FM Aircraft, Fire, Ham and Marine monitoring needs, plus the audio is sharp and clear not pinched-up sounding as is my high dollar digital unit marketed by another manufacturer.
My husband picked it out for my Dad and he LOVES it!!! My Dad is in his early 70's and doesn't have great eyesight but he can read the buttons on this one and the scanner itself is easy to use!!!! It sits on the table in his tv room and is on from the time he gets up till he goes to bed. He LOVES it!!! If you just want a simple scanner that is EASY to use this one is for you.
Works as it states easy to program works very well I love it and yes I would order again have had scanners in the hundreds and this works as well if not better than the others out of the box and the oem antenna that comes with it works great matt upstate ny

Very happy with this scanner. It covers the range of frequencies as indicated but does perform better with the use of an outside antenna rather than the rubber ducky. The included package of accessories is quite impressive! Audio is very good & programming is made easy by reading the Guide carefully. Overall a very worthwhile purchase.
This scanner actually works, unlike another that I purchased. The instruction book is written in English and easy to follow.
So far the scanner is doing great; I just wished there was a way to turn the backlight off; it stays on all the time. It was easy to program for the channels I need. Blocking a channel is easy as well.
Purchased as a gift honestly it has more channels than you will ever need. Programming could be a bit more intuitive but once you done it a few times its easy.
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD IF WE HAD BEEN SMART ENOUGH TO PROGRAM IT
