I just needed a simple radio which played both tapes and CDs. This one fits the bill perfectly and the radio and sound are great.
We wanted a digital tuner radio and found this one. It meets our expectations of finally finding a radio with great reception in the house. This is our third radio in 3 years. The other two had lousy sound and the stations would get static. 5 star radio!
After spending much time reading the reviews for various boomboxes, I am pleased that I purchased this one. It was well packaged and arrived quickly. It meets all my needs as I like its compact size, not bulky, great carrying handle, and lovely sound. I take it w/ me for retreats and use it upstairs away from my large stereo system downstairs as I live in a condo and sound carries. I did purchase the extra guarantee but have not needed it.
This radio is a replacement for an older model that no longer plays. It was easy to set up and while the sound level is not as good as that of my old ghetto blaster, it does play CDs, tapes, AM and FM radio stations and allows favorite stations to be quickly programmed in. To the discerning ear, the Mega-Base is a nice feature.
It is made in China and is a nice addition to the household at the price.
Very versatile for its price and a great sound that may be played and listened to privately or publicly as a radio or recording player. I use it personally to play Bible recordings in personal study of that Book and at times as a recording player or radio to listen to recordings of music when I travel away from home. I gave it a five star rating because of its practical usefulness, reliability and its low price great sound.

Great little boom box! Good sound, light weight, and the controls are easy to read. The only drawback is you cannot "skip" from one song to the next. Otherwise I'm pleased with my purchase!!
Bought this to blast xmas music on our golf cart for the annual golf cart parade and it worked perfectly! SUPER great speakers... GREAT volume and clear sound. Honestly, was surprised because it's battery driven. Compact... I'm gonna eyeball about 9 or 10 inches across about 6 or 7 inches tall. We played CDs but it also plays cassettes if you still have some of those. Only thing I wish is that it had a remote control - it would be a 10 star then.
We bought this for a young teen that wants to collect older media. She is excited and it seems like a solid device with a few different options for input. No USB, but this seemed unlikely for our child to need. The sound is a little weak or tinny? The mega bass option makes some difference, but the low sounds just aren't there. It is very functional, no skipping and fits the bill for our teenager.
Seemed to do what they said it would do, just doesn't have the quality sound that you'd normally expect from a Sony boombox of the past.
I bought this item in order to have a reliable cassette player that I could trust to play back my old tapes without destroying them. Previously I had bought a couple of the cheaper tape players currently on the market; they variously played back too slowly, "ate" and destroyed the tapes, or just stopped working after playing back only a handful of tapes. Quality standards for manufacturing cassette players seem to have declined since the heyday of that medium.
This device, however, is different. Sony seems to have kept up the quality with their cassette players. This device works great. Now I can archive and preserve my old recordings from decades ago. I am quite happy with this purchase.
