While this scanner is GREAT at delivering quality line-art scans, it's definitely lacking when it comes to colored images. I've attached photos of a quick drawing I did for the purpose of showing what I mean. I like the brightness and clarity the scanner brings, but I have that it decreases the saturation and contrast of the image.
The actual machine itself works nicely, it's quick, it has many different settings for documents, photographs, line-art and colored illustrations, etc. It does make a horrendous noise while it's scanning, but other reviews have pointed out the same thing and from what I can tell, it's no issue. The USB connection also makes this scanner portable and easy to use and install.
Now, yes, I realize this scanner was not made explicitly for art, but I was expecting a little better, since photographs have the same amount of color. I have not scanned a photo myself yet, but the quality of my art scans makes a little unsure of how it will come out when I do.
Pros:
Speed of scanning
Ease of use
Price
Clarity of scanned images
USB connection
Compatible with Windows 10
Cons:
Noise
Color-loss and contrast-loss of images
No way to turn it off without disconnecting it
Overall, it's a nice little scanner, especially for the price, with some scanner going for upwards of two hundred dollars. If you're looking to get into art professionally, I would spend a little more to get something of a higher caliber, but if you're just planning on using this for a hobby, or to scan documents, etc, this scanner should suit you fine.
Honestly, I ordered it thinking I would probably just have to return it, but hoping it would work. It's FANTASTIC! Easy and convenient to scan my many bins full of family photos over the years while watching a show. doesn't need a power source, just your laptop. I can put multiple pictures on the scanner and it will scan each one into an individual file. Quite a few original of my pictures were very old and dim from age or just lousy picture taking abilities. This scanner actually lightened those pictures while still making them look natural and great, so much so that I'll be able to use them in the digital photo books I'm making! Very please. Won't return and when it wears out eventually like all electronic do in time, I'll order another one.
This thing works like a champ. Within 10 minutes of taking it out of the box I put it to work. I bought this to digitize decades of old photos. Within the first 2 weeks of ownership I had done 1300 photos. The digital copies are better than the prints, I would have paid twice what I did and still be happy. Can't beat it for that money. Of course I am not a pro photographer I wanted a way to save my old prints and it does a great job and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.
Purchased to digitaized many, many photos from my grand parents. It's light, and a pretty deciding bay size. Runs off USB from computer for power.
The scanner will do an intial scan, then if scanning photos (if leaving space between) will scan multiple photos in the bay at once, and save them as their own individual files. This makes the scan longer itself, but easier to do several at a time. there is also a color correction/dust fix option-- this isn't for photoshopping and fine tuning colors or contrast, but it fixed and auto adjusted colors on over/under exposed images (there were some "red" tinted images from the film, the scanned did a pretty good intial adjustment). I've been scanning 300 photos during a scanning session, and it seems to be holding up well so far.
This isn't a high end professional scanner, so there are limits, but it is more than adequate (at a great price) for what I am working on.
I love this scanner. I actually had given away a higher end scanner as I thought my all in one printer- scanner -fax would be sufficient for my needs. When I started scanning some old pictures, I wasn't happy with the All in One so I bought one of these. Couldn't be more satisfied. It is small, does not require an electrical outlet and scans up to 1200 dpi. I use Photoshop Elements to scan in my pictures. The software that comes with the V19 would just be an extra step for me.
I scan the pic at 1200 dpi into Photoshop Elements and select the part of the picture I want to keep. Then I paste it into a new Elements file and save as a Tiff which is lossless and as a jpg so that I can load it to Ancestry.com. For my purposes, this is all I need.

Very good for document scanning, and I like that I can scan to PDF directly! No problem with setup or product registration. For most peripheral USB devices, a computer technician on a HP help desk gave me a tip to always load the drivers first on a Plug and Play device, so there is minimal interaction with any of the Windows Device Manager wizards. . . I am only using this for scanning documents for archiving purposes. Scanning to PDF only needed to have DPI set, color/BW/Grayscale option and where to put the document. Everything looks good so far, and I love that I do not need another power brick to power the device! Epson Perfection V19 Color Photo and Document Scanner with Scan-To-Cloud with 4800 x 4800 dpi
This scanner is very easy to install and set up straight out of the box. I use it to scan old high school yearbooks and it is very easy to scan to the center of the yearbooks pages. I am able to scan pages one at a time or many individual photos at a time from each page. The quality of each scan is quite good and there is a setup menu to custom set each page scanned. The set up also allows me to select a folder to scan to, the type of image file to save. The scanner bed top is very easy to remove and replace. The scanner is everything I expected and am very pleased with it.
I needed to have a scanner for my work. I got this because of price and the company Epson. The scanner works great. It will do many formats including .pdf which is what I needed. Scans are very clear and I have had it for months which has me writing this review.
The funny thing is when it arrived, my wife said it looks cute. I'm like ok and took it to work. When I got it hooked up to my work pc. Setup was easy and quick. One of my female fellow workers said: "Awe, it's cute"...Me: ???
It is a good quality product that does great scans that I needed. Girls think it's cute.
Purchased this scanner to copy old family photographs. It is simple to use and set up. I like that it plugs into my computer with USB cord and does not require an additional power cord to work. Scanning starts with the push of a button on the front of the scanner. It scans quickly and produces nice quality scans for photos and documents. Much simpler to use than previous scanners I have owned. It is so compact, I can store it in a drawer when not in use. It would be light weight and portable to transport in a laptop bag. I use it with a MacBook and it works smoothly. Highly recommend the Epson Perfection V19.
It does a great job but it will automatically crop out the blank edges of the scan. This is good for pictures, really good. But when copying documents they get saved in a way that all of the text is right against the edge. If you wanted to print the pages back out in the future it would be very strange looking. There it most likely a way to fix this but it is not one of those pop up options that it should be.
