I have looked at a variety of pouches for my FT-60, and this one is by far the best! It will accept the radio with the belt clip and the remote mic attached. Without the clip and mic it is a loose fit. I added a 1/2" piece of foam in the bottom to raise the radio slightly making the knobs more accessible. I removed the bungee cords from the outer loops and ran them directly to the velcro attachment tab. The bungees now run on both sides of the volume knob, but doesn't restrict it's movement. I have found the 5.11 Slickstick molle attachment tabs perform very well. Some have commented that the case material may scratch the radio display. I will investigate this more and may add a soft material insert. The attached pictures show the 5.11 Radio case connected to a Maxpedition Mongo Versipack. I ran the speaker / mic cable up the Mongo's strap and it lays nicely for tilt-head communications. Very Impressed!
Great quality pouch but it will not fit a baofeng radio UV5R type style radio. It is too big. Others say it fits due to the straps being able to hold it. This is true if you do nothing but walk on flat ground. The radio floats in it. It will not hold it snug for running or climbing or rigorous maneuvers. It is heavy duty though and would fit a larger radio.
I own two of these, and i love them. I have two other radio holsters, Maxpedition, an off brand look a like to this 5.1 and the condor ( which is only works for small family radios. What i love about the 5.11 holder is that it's easy to get the radio in and out of the holster ( if you have the straps loose). The other radios the strap comes over the top of the radio and ALWAYS gets hookup on the control knobs.
Also, unless you have a large radio; my Kenwood TH-d72 and 22at, Yaesu's vx-7 and vx-8, don't rub in the inside of the holster hard -- which doesn't wear out the rubber key pad on the front of the radios.
The 5.11 holster also double has "other" use, when it doesn't have a radio in it. the pockets are deep enough ( and there are not large openings for things to fall out) . A water bottle will fit no problem. Keys, wallet, etc, no problem.
Lastily, the tie tacs used for a molle are genius. they are fabric and will bend. And, they are stiff enough to be sturdy. And, unless you see them in action; my words don't do them justice; but, they slide up and down from the top of the holster .. making putting the holster on a molle system super easy.
And, they are well made. If you beat the tar out of them, I think they'll laugh at you.
Maxpedition Falcon ii; Yaesu Vx-8DR in the pictures.
5.11 has made a perfect radio pouch with this design. It will snugly fit radios of varying heights, from small HAM radios like a Baofeng Uv-5R to a standard military MBITR hand radio. The elestic pull-string is snug and feels robust, not likely to break. The pouch material is military-equivalent to standard issue MOLLE gear. MOLLE attachment tabs and buttons are stiff and firm, leaving no looseness or play when attached to a kit or carrier. I have my extended-battery UV-5R in it, and the top dial just pokes out of the top - perfect height.
great pouch for the money. good quality. fits a number of items: ar15 mags, ar10 mags, tourniquet, ham radio (uv-5r shown with expanded battery pack)

Great Price. Great Molle Solution.
This cop can hardly stand that old 80s brick ass Motorola hand held hanging on the duty belt.
We have to wear Molle Condor plate carriers anyway, so I am putting my radio on the vest now.
Very comfortable.
Frees up room and weight off that gun belt.
If you need something that will allow you to pull the radio out in a hurry, this is not the one for you. The elastic strap tangles around the knobs on the radio, leaving you fumbling with the thing to get the radio out. On the other hand, if you need something that will keep the radio in place when you're on your motorcycle or backpacking, it'll work great, because, well, the elastic strap tangles around the knobs on the radio. There is virtually no padding in this pouch. It'll keep the face of the radio fro getting scuffed against a wall, but offers no shock resistance.
Works well for my radio at work. Kind of a pain to get the radio in and out unless you modify it. Good fit and durable.
I detracted one star for ease of use. I have to rotate batteries on a daily basis for my radio in a fast pace environment and this product makes it take longer to do
Exceptional product, sadly I'm one of the officers of my security company that still carries and old radio, so I needed something to fit a rather bulky device. I currently carry a Vertex Standard HX292UT, and it fits perfectly in the holder. It doesn't wiggle or bounce at all, the adjustable straps make it fit perfectly on my duty belt and it stays secure whenever I need to remove the radio to charge. Not too large for our newer radios for when we phase out the old ones either. Good price, good product, would definitely recommend.
Built like a tank, holds either my XTS5K or APX6K. Molle system is well made and configured so you can use it as a belt pouch, too. The only issue I have is that the velcro tab and cordlok setup is fiddly to insert & remove the radio. Once it's in, however, it's staying in :)
