Absolutely beautiful. This was my 2nd attempt to install this. The 1st attemp failed because the suction cups let go of the screen protector as I was positioning it, and screen protector crashed to the floor and the adhesive got gouged and contaminated, ruined. So this time, instead of using the suction cups, I used 2" wide packaging tape and made 4 each T shaped "handles" for top, bottom, left, and right. It worked perfectly! It dropped perfectly in place the 1st try. After it made contact, it started to get that wet look on one side and was growing. I just paused and watched. The wet look (parts coming together) grew until the whole screen laminated. I didn't have to press it or do anything. There was a tiny sort of grey area about 1/2" round, a "bubble", above the button. With a light touch with the supplied micro cloth, it disappeared. I've never had a screen protector apply so well and so perfectly. Great product. Thank you Tech Armor.
This is perfect protection for my new iPad Pro 12.9 screen. I'm tech savvy, but I've put on several glass protectors in the past that were challenging to say the least. So, I read the reviews on this one. By far and away, this is the largest surface area screen that I've applied a protector to.
Shipped quickly. Packaged nicely. Two words of advice ...
1. Watch the videos at the company website or Youtube before you even start, and
2. Take the time, effort, and energy to remove every bit of lint and hair from the screen
I did this installation with overhead and tangential light. While I was de-linting (if there is such a word) the screen, I used a flashlight shining across the screen. This highlighted even the smallest lint particles. I probably spent 15 minutes searching and removing the lint flecks. I used every piece of lint remover that was in the box. Time well spent! Oh, yes, imperative that you do this with the iPad OFF ... No backlighting from the screen.
The next step is to position the small suction cups and remove the backing sheet. Align the screen protector with the HOME button at the bottom and line up the edges. Slowly lower the protector to the screen. Then the directions call for pressing down in the center of the screen and pressing in four directions. I had two bubbles when finished, and both of those were under the suction cups. So, carefully remove these as soon in the process as you can. Just use a fingernail to release the suction cup; don't pull on them.
I had a perfect job from the beginning with literally no fuss, no muss.
I would definitely recommend this screen protector.
WOW - I've probably installed close to 3 or 4 dozen screen protectors over the years on my entire family's devices ranging from iPhones to iPads, both glass and poly protectors. I installed this on my iPad Pro 12.9" and was worried it would be very difficult because of the large surface that you're trying to cover without bubbles/dust. This one installed remarkably easy (perhaps the easiest ever), with zero bubbles and no dust, though it was hard to line up perfectly and needed a few brief attempts as it was laying down before allowing it to lay down all the way to the other end. The protector fits EXACTLY to the edge of the screen so the biggest challenge is to get it lined up perfect (when I thought bubbles would be the issue). They give you a few suction cups which really helps hold the protector as you put it on. We usually by the RhinoShield as I think that is the best screen protector out there to prevent screen cracks in a iPhone that is constantly exposed to environmental hazards and dropping, but they are a pain to install and I couldn't justify $40 out of pocket for an iPad screen protector, so I tried this. I'm sold on iPads for this -- very impressed.
I love these screen protectors! I have used them on my phones and Nintendo switch as well and they all work great. Do some research on YouTube to learn how to do the best install possible.
My advice...
wear latex/nitrile gloves to prevent oily finger prints
Do the install in the bathroom after taking a shower to prevent dust landing on the screen after cleaning it
Use masking tape as a hinge to help line up the protector perfectly.....leave both covers on the protector, line it up exactly where you want it, put a couple pieces of tape half on half off one side of the protector and wrap the excess tightly around the back of your device, lift the protector open using the tape like a hinge, clean the screen again, remove the inside cover of protector, close the protector lightly on the screen again using the tape like a hinge, push down on the center of the protector and watch the magic, lastly work any air bubbles to the edge.
Got this to go with my 12.9” iPad Pro. It was securely packaged, with everything required to make a painless install. Clean your screen, remove any dust, and place the glass. With the iPad Pro, at least the large screen one, it includes two small suction cups to facilitate exact placement. The screen fit exactly. There’s only one cutout, which is for the home button (my old protector also had a cutout for the FaceTime camera).
PROS:
- very sturdy
- optically, near perfection
- feel, very smooth, so swiping gestures feel precise, and there’s not much resistance against your finger
- offers practically edge-to-edge protection. I’d say there about 1/16” around the perimeter that’s not covered.
CONS:
- the cleaning kit seems to be sized for a mobile phone. I found the included wipe to be too small to do much more that smudge my fingerprints on the screen.
- exact placement, though aided by the suction cups, was a tad more difficult since you only have the home button cutout to use as an index. Not a terribly big deal, but just ads a little complication to the process.
- writing “feel” - the surface is so smooth, it offers little resistance to the Apple Pencil. Makes it just a tad easier to exercise exact control when writing.
TIPS/RECOMMENDATIONS
- bubbles WILL form underneath the protector when you apply it. I had 4 smaller ones (roughly the size of a dime), and 2 larger ones (slightly bigger than a quarter). The smaller ones were a pain to move - I used a credit card and the included microfiber cloth to rid them. The larger ones were easy to move. In hindsight, I should have just moved the larger ones around the screen to pick up the smaller ones.
- there was some residual hazing at the edges where I pushed the smaller bubbles out. They seem to have disappeared within a day.
I did not receive any compensation for this review, nor did I receive any kind of discount, etc. This review is a true and accurate account of my opinion and experience.
Given that, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product. This is one of the best protectors I’ve come across, and it was reasonably priced.

I have had one of these covers on my iPad Pro 12.9” for the past year. I dropped my iPad on Saturday from a table onto a tile floor; I cringed at the sound and knew it was not going to be good. I made a repair appointment right away but also went to my Amazon order history and sent for a new cover. I figured the crack did not look too bad and it may have just been the screen protector. I took the protector off today when my new Ballistic Glass cover came in the mail. The protector was completely cracked but my iPad is in perfect shape. I easily popped the new cover on and am good to go. Thank you Tech Armor!
Amazingly effortless install and excellent quality glass screen protector. I made sure I took extra time to clean the iPad Pro’s very large screen because the slightest bit of dust would be extremely noticeable...using a clean dust cloth I cleaned the hardwood table surface I was working on. I then washed hands with dish soap to remove all oils and dried them with a microfiber lint free towel (VERY IMPORTANT) and then using the included suction cups I aligned the screen home button and bottom edge first then tapped the center of the screen with my finger and made the shape of a cross down the center of the screen protector..like magic the adhesive went to work and the result is an even better than the unprotected screen look because of fingerprint resistant quality of this glass. Absolutely amazing!!!
Suction cups did leave air bubbles where they were attached and were easily removed and air pushed out by simply rubbing towards the nearest edge using the included dust removing cloth.
All in install of this took less than 5 minutes
This screen protector performs as expected, protecting against scratches, etc. The finish produces slightly extra glare, which is noticeable in sunlit rooms. The feel on the Apple Pencil and on the user’s fingers is slightly more “glassy” and bit less “oily” than the iPad Pro’s screen — I prefer the feel, but others may not. Fingerprints show less with the screen protector, but you will never eliminate them completely unless you use only the Pencil on your iPad Pro.
I am docking one star because I feel like this product was extra difficult to apply — it did not come with guiding stickers, so you have to look at the Home button hole and align the top entirely by eye. You could probably use the dust-removal stickers to create a makeshift tape binding, but otherwise users are expected to grasp 2 suction cups and align a 12.9 inch screen by eye. The suction cups were helpful for post-application dust removal (i.e., by lifting a corner/side to remove a stray piece of dust). I recommend applying this in your bathroom after taking a shower to cut down on dust in the air.
First impression after installation- wow! That was incredibly easy and I just saved $50 by buying this online and installing it myself instead of paying the Z guys or B.B. to do it for me. Packaging was great, easy to open also. Directions are simple and easy to follow. The whole installation took less than two minutes. The rigidity of the tempered glass makes it much easier to place it properly than a more flexible plastic sheet. Lay it in place, give it a light tap by the home button, and it self adheres. Bubbles were easy to push out. Screen feels great to the touch too. And I was able to install it without taking my 2017 iPad Pro 12.9 out of its case. I highly recommend this. Every bit as good as the Z brand tempered glass for a fraction of the price. My only minor complaint is that the installation video page on Tech Armor’s website, which has several video thumbnails, wouldn’t allow me to expand the viewing size of the instructional video
The home button wasn't cut in alignment. I tried my best but there is like 0.8mm off the center when the glass is aligned on the screen. Also, try to peel of a corner for adjustment after the first fully attached attempt will permanently bubbling that corner up and it will never again stay down. Otherwise, the suction cups are very thoughtful, the glass is smooth, the touch is sensitive and the display look good.
**update**. Second protector is ordered and applied, I avoided lifting up the corner and tried my best to align the home button. It fits in, and is very good. The first one went and sacrificed itself in protecting my iPad Pro 12.9" screen. My little boy dropped it face down and it cracked. Nervously pulled out the protector hoping it did it job, and it really did! Worth every penny
Every iPad Pro 12.9" owner shall have this applied, I have never seen any iPad with such fragile screen as this one, probably the sizes and the form factor. My wife IPad Air had stood through many years without any cracks and even without screen protector as she is not a fan of it
