Actually more of a 3.5 There are probably some things that you should know about this product:
- It is messy to install: First you clean your watch, then dry it, then take off dust, then spray the special goop on your hands (I really hope it's non toxic), then spray the screen protector, then put it on the watch and wiggle it around to get it right, then wait 30 sec, then squeegie the bubbles out, then dry it, then let sit for 12 hours, then clean again. Get all that? I don't know if other protectors are this complicated.
- The result has been great - no bubbles. However, the film did get a tiny bit damaged in the process, but you only see it if you really look for it.
- What they don't say in the video (BTW no written instructions, only video) is it's kind of hard to clean it after it's all done - you're left with a filmy residue on the protector after it's all finished. Good thing the watch is waterproof.
- The feel is not as nice as the actual watch surface. With screen protectors for my phone i never notice the difference. With the watch, the protector does not wrap all the way over the curved edge of the screen, and you feel it when you swipe from the very edge (which you need to do a lot with the watch OS). It also feels less smooth.
- The surface, under the right light, can be seen. In other words you can see the protector and it doesn't look as clean as just having the watch unprotected.
- They say you get 6 protectors. You do, but only 3 of everything else (swabs for cleaning, drying and dedusting the watch).
- I have no idea how strong it is. Guess i'll find out eventually.
This is the screen protector to have, perfect fit and super case friendly. I have the series 4 Apple Watch 44mm and the screen protector is awesome, almost invisible. Do yourself a favor and follow the instructions, install it at night before going to be so the screen protector can settle tiny bubbles will disappear, no issues and it cover pretty much all the screen. The big plus is, super case friendly, works great with the Spigen Rugged Armor case that I have, I installed the watch on the case the next morning with the screen protector on, no issues at all. As you ca see on the pictures, you can not even note it has a screen protector. This is the combo to protect your Apple Watch, get them ASAP!
First, you get 6 films in this pack. I'm not sure why people would need 6. Maaaaybe 2 if you mess up the first one. But otherwise, what exactly are you doing while wearing your watch that you'd need SIX?!?! *shrugging*
Other than that, yeah, pretty much what everyone else has said.
- No instructions other than "view our installation video". And really, isn't that what most people would prefer? "Show me how it's actually done." "Good, I'm doing it exactly like they show in the video."
- You can feel the lip of the film when swiping from the edge. OK.
- The film is not as smooth feeling as the glass itself or the tempered glass protector you may have on your iPhone.
- It doesn't cover the ENTIRE glass face area. Yeah, OK. But if it did, that could potenitally make for more troublesome adhesion since you're having to wrap something around rounded corners. Try wrapping flat tape around a ball that is nearly the same width (diameter); the edges of the tape are going to have creases. From the reverse, it's the same reason you can't take a model of the Earth and unfold it into a perfect rectangle. Sorry, the principles of geometry are going to prevail.
- After you have it adheared the watch, it looks like it has a filter applied and shows a bunch of multicolor speckles. This seems to simply be the liquid underneath. I just looked at the watch ~24 hours later and all of that has cleared up.
- It also seemed at first that the film wasn't going to fully lay flat over the sides the watch. I spent maybe 30 seconds continuing to massage around the edges. It was better, but not 'perfect'. However, like the speckles I just noted, any flaps have disappeared. The film appears to have shrunk(?) just a pinch and the edges of the film are adheared all the way around.
Overall, when I think about the what I paid for this pack of protective films, there is nothing significant to complain about. This gets a 5-star rating because I'd have no qualms recommending it to someone else. If the texture of the film is that big of a turnoff for some people, then possibly a polishing spray or something like a silicone spray that you wipe off 'might' add a coating that will make it feel smoother/more slick. Maybe. If that messes up the film, then "Hey, you've got 5 more to replace it!"
Easy to install. It takes a little effort to stretch the edges around the curved screen, but it only takes a few minutes, and is not difficult. After a few hours, once it has set, the screen is seen crystal clear through the cover. I’m only disappointed that it doesn’t go closer to the edges of where the glass meets the metal frame. If you put a bumper around the frame, then this doesn’t matter. The edges blend so seamlessly into the glass that this can’t be seen in a photo.
Product installation is quick and simple, and the accompanying video guide makes the process easy. The product almost seems unnoticeable after being applied and does cover a good amount of the screen. Though not required, this screen protector would go well with a case because the case (at least my case) covers the sides of my watch that are not protected by the screen protector. There are some residual lint that are caught on the edges, but they should be easily rubbed off or negligible. One of my pictures includes the watch on, and it seems that lighter images, especially those with plenty of white, have the distortion effect similar to the one that may appear if you tried to take a picture of your computer screen with your phone. Personally, I can see it, but I don't think it's a deal breaker because of the affordability and simplicity of this screen protector. All in all, this screen protector seems promising, but only time will tell.

Just purchased my apple watch and I always order screen protectors immediately. I read the write ups on this product, and watched the installation video. At first it seemed a bit complicated and involved, but the review were all good so I ordered them.
After I watched the installation video one more time I did it.. It is actually quite simple. They send you everything you need all you have to do is follow the steps on the video. So far I am very pleased with the product
I recently dropped my apple watch on the ground and shattered the screen. Even though I had a screen protector on it was no match for the street. I sent it into Apple and immediately ordered new screen protectors. I am careless with my watch since I am always bumping into stuff. This product came with all the necessary accessories to put it on your watch, nice little video too. If I ever need more than 6 screen protectors I will definitely buy it again.
I liked that there was a simple to understand instruction video, the package had an adequate amount of supplies in case of mishaps and future replacements. The video said to do the installation over night for best results, but I just did mine 10 minutes ago and it’s adhered to the screen just fine. I gave the product 4 out of 5 stars because, it doesn’t have as much edge coverage as the one I had on my previous watch. This is not a deal breaker, it’s just that additional 1/1.2 mm exposed screen might get scratched.
Overall its a good product and, I would recommend it as a more affordable alternative to zaggs.
Previous to using these I had purchased a set for my sons 38mm series 3. The install was easy as were the instructions. Laid it down and squeezed out the excess and it stuck. This pack I have for my series 4 44mm. I originally had a zagg protectorate on it but with the spigen rugged armor case I had just put it in caused the zagg to bubble up on each corner which was a complete eye sore. I decided to give these a try and to my surprise they screeen protectors fit the opening of the rugged armor case perfectly. Advice would be to wet the screen face down along with the screen protector that way you can maneuver it where you need it. Once I got it on and squeezed most of the solution out I used a tooth picks edge to precisely place it where I needed to go. Came out perfect and would highly recommend!
The product arrived a week or so ago but I finally took the time to apply a protector yesterday. I had scratched my watch face on the granite of our kitchen countertop and was hoping this would help hide it. It was nice to have a link to watch the video; this process was a little different than I expected. Overall, the first attempt was a success (I didn't leave the watch alone for the recommended 12 hours so I messed up a corner) but I am happy with the results. The scratch is now hidden so Mission Accomplished. Just wish I had ordered before scratching it.
